We're arriving Friday, 1/21 late at night and after a night off-site, will be checking into POR for 7 nights. Our last day, Saturday, 1/29 we leave Orlando in the morning. We had planned to spend our first day at the beach on the Gulf coast and then one day at Sea World. This is my 12-year-old ds's first trip since he was 5 and our 9-year-old ds's and dd's first trip period. We were planning on getting 5-day PH MYW passes for everyone. I have already ordered Disney Quest tickets.

Any thoughts? Do you think the kids will end up disappointed only having 5 days in the parks? Should we cancel the beach given that the weather may be lousy? Should we make it easier on ourselves and spend the extra day around Orlando doing mini-golf, swimming, etc., or should we just buy 6-day passes?

Well for example we are going to be there 10 days and doing a 6 day hopper pass. the other days spending time swimming/ cruising the hotel - POP CEntury - going to other hotels like the monorail ones - eat at one of them
Another day we are doing downtown disney - love the lego land -
another late afternoon non park day - going to Fort Wilderness for Pony rides/ carriage ride / supper at buffet / and maybe catch the campfire sing along if not too chilly.... so much to do "free' at disney we always try to have 2-3 days to do nonpark items -- Broadwalk is another adventure probably for our first evening there - and maybe get a glimse of the illuminations without a park pass. Having - relaxed non park busy activities help us stay rested for the days at the park - even us adults need those relaxed days --- Playground 0r just sitting in the sun at the beach at Polynisian and bring a toy for the sand and read a book while 3 year old enjoys the warmth --- it is below zero - cold for days - and snow/ice so he hasn't been out of the house for days ------ :jumping4:

The difference in price between the 5 and 6 day pass is one dollar per person. These new tickets are making me crazy. We were there last year for 7 days last year. We spent 5 full days in the park and we are going there this year to do some of the stuff we missed. This vacation will be much more laid back for us. The beach is not a big deal for us because we live in New England and visit them all the time. You will have a great time no matter what you do.

I don't think it's worth driving over to the gulf and back for a day at the beach. Even if the temp is in the 70's the water temp will probably be low 60s Brrrr.

For the couple of extra dolloars I'd get the 6 day pass.
