Basically....is HDDR worth 2 TS credits...or should we add on another meal? Is there any way to guarantee you can sit by the stage and not up in the balcony? Is the food as good as the entertainment?

We LOVE HDDR!! I would pick to do this one night and then if you need the 6th meal another day, just pay OOP for a CS meal. We liked the show for a number of reasons:

1. The food was pretty decent, but the show is hilarious!
2. It's not your quiet evening out, so our kids can be loud and it doesn't bother anybody!
3. Beer/wine/sangria--all you can drink, all included. Not much more to say about that! ;)
4. The tip is included too, so you don't have to budget extra $$ to leave one!

It really is worth the 2 TS credits in my book!

Wait....WHAT?!? Alcohol in included in the dining plan?!? I've never heard of that! I think you may have just SOLD me! ;)I wish it was when we went to CRT...worth it for the atmosphere...but we won't go again cause of the so so food. :(

Forgot to add: Category 1 seating is on the floor closer to the stage, but you can only use the DDP with category 1 seating at the late show which is a bummer. All category 3 is in the balcony. Category 2 is split between the floor and the balcony.

Tables are pre-assigned. So when you book, the CM should be able to tell you where your table will be located. Perhaps you could have the CM look for an available table in category 2 that is not in the balcony?

Our first time we booked Category 2 and we were towards the back of the hall on the floor but we were seated at a high top table so we could see over the category 1 tables. I thought they were great seats!

Only at the dinner shows (HDDR, Spirit of Aloha, Mickeys BBQ). And it's included for anyone paying for tickets to the dinner shows, not just DDP guests. I had the sangria--It was delish. and it was in a giant mason jar! Only at Disney would I drink out of a mason jar and call it delish! DH had bud light. After he asked for his 2nd refill the CM brought him his own pitcher which made DH very happy!

Yeah...the show would be too late for my kids. But it sounds like if I get the right table at Category 2 it could be a go? Should I ask for a specific section...do you remember? I shouldn't have trouble since I'll be booking 180 days out..right?

You cannot request a section. Only category. Tables are assigned in the order of reservation. In '09 we booked 6 am at the 183 day mark(180+10) for the 9:30 and had the first table on front of stage. The earlier you book the better the seat.

Yes, you book at the 180 day mark....The the earlier you book the better the table you are assigned....We like to pay for this one OOP...We like to go at 5:00 and we love Cat 1 seating...We always need an extra meal OOP when we are on the basic plan...We also do not like using 2 credits for one meal on the basic plan...So yes, we love it and think it is worth going 2 credits or OOP...We are just willing to spend the cash for the BEST seats in the house and because w end up spending money anyway...

DH loves the endless beer...The plus for sure.

HDDR is a must do. Cat 2 seating is fine but do book early to ensure best seats. We love Cat 1 but have done all 3 cat in the past. If you book early you'll be on floor not balcony. And yes, 9:30 show is too late for us also. The show is the draw, much better than the food. That said, the ffod is fine. You'll eat, you'll laugh, you'll drink and drink and drink and drink. Pitchers of beer, oh my!!:cool1:
