5 for 3?

Here is the problem with giving a discount to a hotel that is already selling lots of rooms.

You have a hotel at 75% occupancy selling rooms for $100.
You give 30% off, now room are selling for $70 but occupancy is %100.

.75(% sold) * 100(price) *100 (rooms) = 7,500
1.00(%sold) * 70(price) *100 (rooms) = 7,000

Picture doesn't get better when 5 for 3 is actully a price of 60. And a real world occupancy % is not 100.

So having people come to the parks for 3 days instead of 5 causes Disney to lose money? I don't get it?

we are going in 2 weeks.. I am going to wait as long as possible.... then just order off the DL site...... They seem to be the cheapest right now for a 4 day

I would assume whatever money they lose in hotel and ticket rates would be more than made-up with two more days worth of spending in the parks.

I know I spend at least $100 per day in the parks with just my daughter and myself.

$100 * 100 rooms * 2days = $20,000

If it were that simple, they would have that discount right now, and all the time.

But they don't and I showed a sample as to why not.

So now that they have missed their Q1......when do they bring it back?

This is very off topic.

They get results back inline by reopening TDL which they've done. Release better movies, which you might expect Cars 2 and POTC 4 to be. Stop paying for cruise ships and DCA expansion which is getting done.

Continue the pricing model for parks because it's working. That by the way is to reduce discounting.

I posted earlier that a co worked mentioned 5 for 3s in a Kroger store, well I checked "mine" over the weekend and they just had regular 3 & 2 day PHs....

My thoughts are that if they are going to release anything (which I am starting to doubt they will) they will do it after the opening of the new rides. They know people are itching to check these out and they are not going to give people discounts on something they will pay full price for.

So we are going June 8th. I can literally wait until June 7th and then order them online and print right at home, right?

Yep.....you can leave it right to the last day....I am 80% sure that this deal won't be happening this year and I locked in when the CAD was trading at 1.05 vs USD so that was my minor deal....as of today back down to 1.03...but if I didn't have to factor in currency I would wait until the last second possible. So based on what I am reading/hearing the oder of where to purchase would go...

1. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/tickets/ =lowest cost,print@home/no fee
2. http://www.arestravel.com/
3. hotel
4. Gate:sad2:

Subbing...We leave (driving) 5/27. I doubt they will release this discount as well, but doesn't hurt to wait since we can print at home.:thumbsup2

If they don't post any news by the 28th, I'll be really bummed :sad1: I really, really want to stay on-site but can't afford to do so without some sort of special!

I'm hoping to upgrade to park view!

There is still a special for room only reservations. There is not currently a ticket special. I've mentioned this as my thinking before and it sound reasonable. A few weeks ago they were filming with a couple ofthe floats from the new parade. It is my thinking that when they have commercials ready to air then we will see the next specials.

If they are doing the 5 for 3 that was for both tickets and hotel so the current room special needs to be booked by May 28th. Maybe they will not announce the next room special till after that?

So far I am half wrong... Just saw a commercial for soundsational summer and it did not mention any specials...

Have to wait till May 29th to see if they were just waiting for the current room special to end... They really don't like people to be able to plan in advance!

Well I just purchased my tickets online. So based on my luck, they should be coming out with a 5 for 3 offer tomorrow!

I'm sure they're planning at least some sort of deal since the website has a link for special savings. It just annoyingly still reads "coming soon." Disney is feeling more confident in their numbers this year, so no doubt they're waiting until the last minute to announce anything in order to judge demand. WDW is -always- having some sort of deal for folks staying an extended number of days. I hope DL follows suit. I just hope that when the new deal is announced, I can make my reservation before it's all booked!
