5 days past onboard booking date-any wiggle room?

Does anybody know if there's a chance for me or am I out of luck? I booked 2 rooms while onboard our last cruise and want to transfer those rooms to 2017. I originally booked onboard on 2/20/15. I'm looking at cruises now that leave 2/25/17 and 2/26/17. I realize I'm 5-6 days past the 24 month booking date....are they that strict? Our February vacation is late this year and I hate to lose the money but can't take the kids out of school (even if it would save me $600).
Thanks!

Your only option would be to call DCL and check (or your TA if you named one when you did your onboard booking) but I suspect the answer will be 'no', otherwise where would you draw the line.

All you can do is call and ask. Let us know what happens.

Just wanted to point out that unless you booked a concierge room, the deposit you paid for the onboard booking would be refundable. So, you would not lose the money, just the onboard booking benefits.

You can call and ask but I too suspect the answer will be no. And the cruises you book with an OBB must be COMPLETED by the 2 year mark after the OBB is made, not just commenced by that date. So you are actually more than 5/6 days past the date.

That is actually not correct: The cruise needs to commence prior to the OBB date. I have a confirmed reservation for a cruise that commences three days before 24 months after my OBB date, but ends 4 days after. My TA said that when she moved my reservation to that cruise the CM commented that we were using our OBB "just in time". And as I said, I have a confirmation that shows the 10% discount and I only paid the 10% deposit. So all OBB benefits are in place

That was my understanding too - in fact, when I booked my placeholder on my last cruise (WBPC in May), I specifically stated that I wanted to use it on the WBPC in 2017 (if there is one) and the DCL booking agent indicated that he would charge my card on the very last day of the cruise to give me every possible chance of keeping the OBB as he said the cruise only needs to commence within the 2 years, to retain the benefits.

Correct. Before the last change (from the 18 month to 24 month limit) the cruise had to be completed by the final date. When they went back to the 24 month limit, they changed it to must be started by the limit date.

Thanks. I didn't realize they changed it when they switched back to the 24 month limit. My mistake.

I know, it wasn't actually announced that changed, people just reported being about to do it.

I guess that could count as "wiggle room".
