Just got back from a fantastic trip to Disney with my DH, my mom, and my grandparents. This was their first trip to Disney and it was such a joy to experience it with them. Memories we'll never forget!

Anyways....here's my dining review from a first-time DP user! We had 2 rooms, so DH, my mom, and myself were on the DP. My grandparents were not. I've listed what the meal would have cost us OOP had we not been on the DP.

DAY 1: Went to DTD for a late afternoon lunch at Wolgang Puck Express. Used 3 CS credits to get 1/2 BBQ chicken with fries, 1 BBQ chicken quesadilla, 1 linguini dish, 3 creme brulees, and 3 fountain drinks. GP had ice waters. Since this was our first DP meal, we told the cashier and he was fantastic to help us figure out how to use our credits. The waitress was wonderful to refill our drinks and get us extra plates to share the meal even though this was CS, not TS! A great first meal! Cost: $48.03

For dinner we went to Shutters (we were staying at CBR). Since we had a late lunch, we decided to only use 2 of our TS credits. We had 2 ice teas with everyone else drinking ice water, the onion soup and island wings, followed by the Top Sirloin and 12 oz prime rib and 2 chocolate cakes for dessert. The food was good; the service was horrendous. You could tell the server was ticked off that we were only using 2 of our credits. We barely got drink refills, our food was practically thrown on the table, and we were not even permitted a second spoon for someone else to taste the soup much less an extra plate. It was obvious that she was much more interested in the table of 2 next to us! No additional tip was left on the table and I don't think she deserved the $12.32 that came from the DP! Cost: $85.19

DAY 2: Lunch at Backlot Express (MGM). Used 3 CS credits. Nothing too exciting -- burgers, turkey sandwich, fries and Coke. Had a couple of chocolate mousse for dessert. Cost: $26.55

Went to the BW for dinner at Big River Grille. Used 3 TS credits. Had great food and GREAT service! Appetizers were chips/salsa, pita chips/hummus, jalapeno cheese spinach dip/chips. Entrees were a grilled salmon, steak (can't remember the cut!), and ribs. The server even boxed up 2 slices of chocolate cake and 1 cheesecake for us to take back to our room! Overall, a good meal that put me at ease about sharing dining credits. We left the server an additional $10 on the $19 tip from the DP. Cost: $137.

DAY 3: Lunch at Garden Grill (EPCOT). Probably our best service of the trip. Our waiter was so much fun and the food was fantastic! Since this was a less expensive buffet, we used 3 TS credits and paid OOP for the other 2. Left a $15 tip for the other 2 meals. Cost of the 3 on the DP was $78.40.

Dinner was CS at CBR. Had hot sandwiches, fruit cup and ice cream for dessert. Used 2 CS credits. Cost: $24.00

I'll continue in another post so I don't exceed the length......

DAY 4: Lunch was at Flame Tree BBQ (AK). We had a pork sandwich, beef sandwich, and ribs. All came with a side of baked beans. We got 3 key lime pies and 3 cokes. There was a family of 3 sitting next to us who gave us their chocolate cake because they were on the DP and it was too much food for them! We told them we were, too, but took the cake anyway! :teeth: The food was good, but nothing to get too excited about. Cost: $40.71

Dinner was at Nine Dragons in EPCOT. I had reservations at Le Cellier for this night but wasn't able to keep them because of some scheduling conflicts that had come up. But, we were able to get a last minute ADR at Nine Dragons. We had beef skewers and a Tri-Star appetizer (some seafood thing that counted for 2 credits) for appetizers. Then we had pepper beef, some shrimp dish, and sweet-n-sour pork for our entrees. All were very good and were served with as much white rice as we wanted. (I'm not a seafood eater, so I didn't actually try those dishes!) We had 3 of their Napoleon cakes for dessert. The best thing about this meal, though, was the jasmine green tea. We had 3 of those and loved them! Yummy! Left an additional tip for the server. Cost: $120.

Day 5: Lunch was at Pecos Bill in the MK. BBQ sandwich and fries, brownie, and coke. Basic CS meal. Didn't write down the cost of this one!

For our grand finale we had dinner at CRT. We used 4 TS credtis. The server brought out a basket of pretzel bread and honey butter to start. I must have eaten my weight in the pretzel bread alone - it was soooo good! We had 2 Caesar salads (which had a FANTASTIC cheese crisp on each), shrimp cocktail, and seafood eggroll for our appetizers. We shared 3 fillet of beefs and 1 kingdom cut prime rib for entrees. Each came with grilled veggies and fried onion straws. The steaks were cooked perfectly. I didn't care for the red wine sauce much, but could't taste it if I didn't sop my meat in it. The desserts were 2 key lime creme brulees and 2 chocolate cakes that were all out of this world. Service was very good and we left an additional tip here as well. Cost: $214.59

Our snack credits we used for waters, Cokes, popcorn and cookies here and there. The last day of our trip I used my last 3 snacks on rice krispies treats to take home. We also used our last 3 CS meals for breakfast on the last morning at our resort. My grandparents only wanted a bowl of sliced fruit for breakfast, so I was going to just get that and a drink, but the lady checking us out said we could get 2 bowls of fruit for 1 CS meal. We ate one and took one on the plane. DH and my mom each had a hot breakfast plate and drink.

All in all, I was very pleased with the dining plan. It worked perfectly to share meals. We would have done this if purchasing meals OOP, too, since it really is just too much food for any one of us to eat.

If you have any questions about specific restaurants we were at or how we used the plan, I'll be glad to help where I can!

Great reviews. Thanks for sharing how you used the DP credits with party being in two rooms. Gave me something to think about if we go back with another family.

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.
