Just got back from a fantastic trip to Disney with my DH, my mom, and my grandparents. This was their first trip to Disney and it was such a joy to experience it with them. Memories we'll never forget!
Anyways....here's my dining review from a first-time DP user! We had 2 rooms, so DH, my mom, and myself were on the DP. My grandparents were not. I've listed what the meal would have cost us OOP had we not been on the DP.
DAY 1: Went to DTD for a late afternoon lunch at Wolgang Puck Express. Used 3 CS credits to get 1/2 BBQ chicken with fries, 1 BBQ chicken quesadilla, 1 linguini dish, 3 creme brulees, and 3 fountain drinks. GP had ice waters. Since this was our first DP meal, we told the cashier and he was fantastic to help us figure out how to use our credits. The waitress was wonderful to refill our drinks and get us extra plates to share the meal even though this was CS, not TS! A great first meal! Cost: $48.03
For dinner we went to Shutters (we were staying at CBR). Since we had a late lunch, we decided to only use 2 of our TS credits. We had 2 ice teas with everyone else drinking ice water, the onion soup and island wings, followed by the Top Sirloin and 12 oz prime rib and 2 chocolate cakes for dessert. The food was good; the service was horrendous. You could tell the server was ticked off that we were only using 2 of our credits. We barely got drink refills, our food was practically thrown on the table, and we were not even permitted a second spoon for someone else to taste the soup much less an extra plate. It was obvious that she was much more interested in the table of 2 next to us! No additional tip was left on the table and I don't think she deserved the $12.32 that came from the DP! Cost: $85.19
DAY 2: Lunch at Backlot Express (MGM). Used 3 CS credits. Nothing too exciting -- burgers, turkey sandwich, fries and Coke. Had a couple of chocolate mousse for dessert. Cost: $26.55
Went to the BW for dinner at Big River Grille. Used 3 TS credits. Had great food and GREAT service! Appetizers were chips/salsa, pita chips/hummus, jalapeno cheese spinach dip/chips. Entrees were a grilled salmon, steak (can't remember the cut!), and ribs. The server even boxed up 2 slices of chocolate cake and 1 cheesecake for us to take back to our room! Overall, a good meal that put me at ease about sharing dining credits. We left the server an additional $10 on the $19 tip from the DP. Cost: $137.
DAY 3: Lunch at Garden Grill (EPCOT). Probably our best service of the trip. Our waiter was so much fun and the food was fantastic! Since this was a less expensive buffet, we used 3 TS credits and paid OOP for the other 2. Left a $15 tip for the other 2 meals. Cost of the 3 on the DP was $78.40.
Dinner was CS at CBR. Had hot sandwiches, fruit cup and ice cream for dessert. Used 2 CS credits. Cost: $24.00
I'll continue in another post so I don't exceed the length......
