For those of you that go for only 5 or 6 days please tell me you love it! I booked this trip on the spur of the moment about 5 months ago and decided since we were only going to WDW this time and staying on property that 6 days/5 nights would be enough. Now as we are getting closer to the trip I wished I had booked a longer trip. I looked into changing the dates but the US Air $100 fee per ticket is cost prohibitive. I know I am being a dork but it is my nature to worry about everything so I can't help myself. Anyway tell me what you like about trips less than a week. I know I will be going back again so this is not a trip of a lifetime or anything but the closer we get the more appealing a longer trip would seem.

Of course a longer trip would be great, but a 5-6 day stay at Disney World is a 5-6 day stay at Disney World! Why would you not like that?

We drive and camp at Ft. Wilderness, so the longest stay we have had is 6 days. It is long enough to get to all the parks, dine at our favorites and usually try something new.

We leave in 2 1/2 weeks for a 4 night/5 day stay. (We are also doing Seaworld and Discovery Cove 2 other days). Our special treat will be DH and I doing the Seway tour.

I say enjoy your trip and start planning your next! That's my mode of operation!

We stayed 4 nights and 5 days last year. We didn't get to do "everything" but we had a great time. By everything, I mean we didn't do waterparks or miniature golf or other things outside of the parks. We did make it to every park and still had time to swim in the pool and go to Downtown Disney. You just have to do a little more planning and a little less spur of the moment. Depends on what are musts for you. You will still have a great time!

Besides, there is always next trip!

Thanks for the replies. I know I am being dumb but I can't help myself. :teeth: I was thinking the other day that it didn't seem like enough time to do the things we like but really it is more time than we usually have because when we go for a week we also do Sea World for two days and WDW for 4 days. I think I just need to start packing and get excited for this trip and stop obsessing. The first step is admitting you have a problem right? :rotfl: I just needed to "hear" someone else tell me I was being dumb. ;)

Plenty of time!! I work every weekend so we always go during the week! Sometimes we get parked out and just relax at the resort! Enjoy your vacation...some people never even go away! If you have early arrival and late departure that helps! There are great itineraries here at the DIS if you need help.

We are leaving next week for three nights at Boardwalk Inn and two nights at Royal Pacific at Universal. Since we have done these trips many times, we hit the highlights. If there is a really long line for something, we skip it. We eat in a few of our favorite restaurants or try something new. For us, it's plenty of time. Last year my son and I did Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, the Magic Kingdom, MGM and EPCOT in a four night trip. We had a good time - didn't feel rushed at all. In addition, we went to the Mall at Millenia and did Downtown Disney.

I think you will be fine.

Thanks for all the replies! I know you are all right and it will be a great trip. We are getting away from the cold NH winter and the kids and I are going alone so it will be nice to spend some time togther uninterupted by work, school, etc. (although I may be singing a different tune after five days :rotfl: ) I think I am going to concentrate on seeing some new things. The kids have seen Wishes but not Illuminations or Fantasmic so I am going to make sure we get to see those. Also Spectromagic is scheduled for our first night there so we can enjoy that for the first time. Does anyone think the Fantasmic package is worth it? I am thinking about calling to make a PS for that. Thanks again.

We almost always do a shorter stay and love it. We are DVC so know we'll be back - we don't have to do commando at the parks. I'd rather have a couple of short trips than one long one.

You'll have agreat time! Did you get park hoppers? That will be important in a short trip b/c you can hit the highlits at MGM, go swim at the Pop, then head out to a different park. Lots and lots of time! I am considering getting the Dinner package also for my mommy & me trip in April. I think it is worth it, if you were planning on eating a sit down meal one evening anyway. I wouldn't do it A) if it meant I couldn't do a character meal b/c of finances or B) I was going during a slow time of year.
Otherwise, give it a try and that way you are sure to get decent seats for a show you haven't seen yet. I think the times are posted for fansasmic; there is a thread with the link around here someplace...

I did a 5 night stay last summer and it was great! Here was our itinerary. We took the earliest flights coming in and late flights leaving, which helped.

Saturday- Arrive & Check in, MGM from about 3pm-close (Fantasmic)

Sunday- MGM 9-12, MK from 1-9(Spectro)

Monday- All day at Epcot

Tuesday- Water Park 10-3 & Downtown Disney

Wednesday- Animal Kingdom 9-5 & Downtown Disney

Thursday- Morning at MK from 9-4pm, 7pm flight home
