5/30/2010-5 Night Disney Wonder Memorial Day Double Dip! Roster-Post 626 on page 42

We have never done competitions (I teach at the same school that I learned to dance in) We did Dance Olympus (I was a VIP in '99) and we do Tremaine too. Back when I was a student we also did Dance Educators of America. I teach mostly teens and pre-teens. The teenagers are ridonculous, I have had every excuse in the book as to why they can't be in class. Most recently it is "I have field hockey until October, can I start dance then?" Um, OK. I truly love to dance and wish I could take class myself. After highschool, I used to go to NYC like 3 times a month to dance at BDC. I haven't been there in so long, and it is a little different now that they have moved and Frank Hatchett isn't really teaching anymore. I am overworked and underpaid (all dance teachers are) but I love it. Answers to your questions: I don't mind 2 pieces, just not on kids under 13 ish, I teach hip hop, but it is really just advanced jazz with maybe 24 counts of hip hop thrown in there (I would rather them look good on stage than try to attempt too much hip hop, ya know?) I used to do pointe, but haven't put on pointe shoes in a loooooong time. I like to watch competitions, but sooo many dances are so inappropriate (like watching teenagers strip) I can't believe parents PAY to have their children learn how to dance like exotic dancers. I have watched some on you-tube and I am uncomfortable watching 7 year olds grind and such. It is disturbing. But, there are some really good schools out there that teach their students how to dance really well and have tasteful choregraphy. Talk to you soon.

Hello Everyone!
I have lurked on this site for quite some time. We will also be on this cruise and can't wait! We sailed on the Wonder last May and loved it! It will be me, my husband and two daughters ages 10 & 12. I was curious....does anyone know what the dinner schedule will be like...formal night? pirate night? etc... We're so excited to go! Can't wait!

Good to see there will be some girls around the same ages as my DDs. They will have just turned 13 when we cruise.

Hi Pooh Friend#1!
My 12 year old DD will actually turn 13 the following month! Looks like we're both from Colorado too!

p.s. AND I have no idea about the dinner schedule...I asked a while back and I was told that we are the first 5 night of the year and we will be the first to have a schedule? I was wondering what previous 5 night dinner rotations were like...:confused3

Thanks Danceteacher for adding us to the roster! Pooh Friend #1, we are in Alamosa....way south from you.

Well, hopefully we hear about a dinner schedule. I'm such a planner! May won't get here soon enough!

Hi everyone,

Well, we're back from 7 glorious days in the World! It is so hard to get back into the real world, ya know??

We had a fabulous time, free dining, very low crowds and it was HOT. Loved every single minute of it!

Now that I'm back, I can focus on the cruise!:banana::banana:

Its good to see the new posts, glad everyone is stopping by to say hello! :goodvibes

Can't wait to meet all of you in the coming months!

Hi Everyone.

Have we lost anyone today with the booking frenzy?!

Mike and I are still here! We also booked the 10-night Mexican Riviera for 4/17/2011.

And, go figure, we got the same stateroom that we've had for our past 2 Wonder cruises and this cruise in May.

That'll be 4x in the same stateroom.

Think I will get a plaque and put our name on the door!

My wife and I booked this double dip, our first DD and will be our 4th cruise on DCL. I was caught up in the booking frenzy this morning for the Alaska cruise in 2011! Worth it, but pretty crazy being on the phone on hold for 30 minutes at 7am.

On this cruise, we are in 2560 with late seating. But I am going to try to change the room after realizing we are right next to the kids area.

Glad to see a lot of people are still on this cruise. We looked at a cheaper cruise but we've also booked 4 days in a Treehouse Villa at WDW when we return and I know we wouldn't be able to move those up into March. So we're happily still hanging on to this trip.

Been lurking this site for awhile and decided it was time to register. We will be joining this cruise, it will be myself, my husband and our daughter-3 yrs. It will be our first cruise and we cant wait...242 days to go!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:
