5/30/2010-5 Night Disney Wonder Memorial Day Double Dip! Roster-Post 626 on page 42

Great pictures! I happened to be photo posting challenged myself. Sorry I can't help. We may be taking a 3-day this fall. Just talked to the TA. Would love to go longer, but the kids fall break happens to be during dry dock.

Let us know if you get to go. We'd love to go on a cruise this year too, but just won't be able to this year with our WDW vacation this summer. I forgot all about the Wonder's drydock -- any rumors as to what they'll be doing? I assume that they will be adding flat screen TV's to all of the staterooms like they did on the Magic. Maybe they'll also add DisneyQuest to the Wonder.

yea! We booked a 3dayer this am! It was with the $99 per person bounce back. Hard to say no to that! So I will be doing a quick trip for Veterans Day weekend, cat 4, on the Wonder. Has anyone been on a 3 day? Even more to read about! Also, has anyone done a double dip before? Is there a lot different? and extra show? After watching it flurry all morning(it was 70 yesterday) I am ready for a warm get away!

is today's pic a teen hang out on the island? It looks cool, but I am guessing DS (age 7 at sailing will be too young) DH would like it too !!
It is snowing here this evening...2-4 inches estimated between tonight and tomorrow:sad1: who wants that in April !!

Hello All!!

Love all the photos!!! Yesterday it was 82 here! Today, it's cold and blustery! We might even get "A slushy accumulation" overnight! YUCK!

I wonder if we might be able to use Tami's banner as a Tshirt? Do you think if we get a good clean photo of it, we could use it as an iron on? I just love it!! It looks great!!

We are busy with Track and Field now. Since I quit working, I am busier then ever! I don't know HOW I did it before!?

Off to bed and watch the news!

Make It Magical!! :wizard:

It's 90 here today and I'm going swimming this afternoon! I "redid" the banner in an 8.5 X 11 format if anyone wants to use it as an iron on. Great idea Crazy Cunninghams

I'm not sure how to get the file to all who want it. Christopher taught me how to put stuff in photoshop and add it to the posts. Can you download it that way or do you need additional info? I fixed the colors and unfortunately didnt have room for the cruise logo, but I got the main parts. Let me know if you like it or if it is usable.

I wouldn't of passed up the $99 bounce back either!! Enjoy.

I'd also like to hear more about the double dip. All I know is the itinerary itself, but not much about the activities. Is there is a formal night on the 5-night?

The picture was of the Grouper game pavilion. Your 7 year old can enjoy it as it's for everyone, not just teens. In addition to the pool and shuffleboard, you can play foosball, ping pong, basketball, golf wiffleball, and oversized chess and checkerboards and connect 4.

Sorry eveyone's getting our cold/snowy weather...it finally stopped snowing here!! It's gone and today's were sunny and back in the upper 60's. It should be spring like most of this week. Not swimming weather like where Tami is, but warm enough for baseball and soccer and just being outdoors for a change!

I also love the idea of a t-shirt. Tami also posted a revised version---such talent! I will make that into a signature banner this weekend and post it as it's so much better than what I put together!

My DW is a stay-at-home-mom too and she's extremely busy, but she does suffer from the "can't say no" syndrome. :rolleyes1 She does a lot of volunteer work in addition to keeping our household running smoothly!!

Great banner format! I can download this directly from your post to use on the DIS boards for a signature banner, etc. Just right click on it and select, save picture as.

For t-shirts, we'll need a good high-quality picture of it to prevent it from distorting too much. We ordered our t-shirts for the Panama Canal cruise about 3 months out. If we want to order shirts, we would need to find a printer and have the orders ready sometime around next February.

Alternatively, we can do the iron-on approach. Some people did that to make their own Mickey Mouse Club T-shirts. Someone had posted some step-by-step instructions on how to do that. I'll see if I can find those instructions on one of the many meet threads. I do know that a high-quality image was needed to make it turn out good.

Does anyone have premium access to a photosharing site where we can post high quality image files for sharing?

I can identify with your wife. I'm only 50 but retired 5 yrs ago. I am busier now than ever. My husband suffers from the "cant say no" syndrome, I have an easier time but still get my share of volunteer work. Love the photos, keep them coming.

As for t-shirts cant we just run the "mock up" through the copier with iron on paper? I've made iron on's this way before. Much more cost effective than having someone print the shirts. Just a thought...let me know what the consensus is.

Here's the T-shirt image in different sizes if you'd like to use it for a signature banner:

That is the cutest pic!! I love it....when will they wise up and make those for parents? B/c if you think the kids are tired:rotfl:

What is a $99 Bounce Back? Has anyone heard anything about the Wonder's repositioning cruise to CA?

So, I am thinking of doing the FE thing, have never done it before. looked at Fe's on ebay, thought they were alittle expensive w/ shipping, so may try to make it myself. I have a whole year to experiment !!
Now I need to know what to bring to put in them....and how many do I need to plan for. I assume I would just plan for the people doing it on this board. I'd like to do something practical and something cute, please help with ideas !! I think DS would love this, little presents outside his door, and sneaking around to others to give presents like Santa.

alittle off topic, but has anyone on this board been to Universal Orlando? We are going in June for 5 nights and I am looking for peoples opinions on the parks and restaurants, etc... I know it is not Disney, nor the GF or Narccossee's (all our favorites). I am sure we will have a good time, just not sure what to expect. I am not a roller coaster rider, DS will probably be too small for most anyway. did I mention my mom is coming along? (my daddy passed away in January at age 64, so DH and i asked my mom to come this summer and on the cruise. She didn't want to stay alone in cabin on cruise, but decided alittle time away would be good this summer.) My mom and dad did come with us to WDW for DS's 3rd bday, they both had a great time and my dad was not a vacationer. I think she will be okay, she is pretty go-with-the-flow. Any input will be appreciated !!

The $99 bounce back was for those who cruised this past winter. I don't recall the specifics, but if you took certain cruises this past winter, you could take a 3-night later in 2009 for $99 per person (same cabin category as your original crusie). What a bargain!!

I too have thought about the Wonder's repo cruise...a westbound. If it's anything like the repo's last summer, it will be 14 to 15 nights with a stop in Castaway Cay, perhaps Aruba and/or Cartagena, as well as Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo. We loved the repo cruise and would really like to do it again, but may have to leave the kids at home to save some green!! The Panama Canal cruises sell out quickly, so you have to watch for when the 2011 cruises will go on sale. Disney usually announces it two weeks ahead of time and then on the first day of booking, call, use a TA, get online as soon as the lines open that day and try to get that cabin. It's quite a frenzy! We got our cabins on the day they came out for our EB repo cruise last summer.

The only thing that may tempt us out of it, is the opportunity to cruise on the new ship!

As far as ideas, you can do anything you want. On ours, there was anything from candy, stickers, postcards, temporary tattoos, pens, pins, CDs with Disney music, pirate stuff, door magnets, ground coffee, mickey antenna toppers, etc., etc. We ordered inexpensive pens that were customized with the dates of the cruise and the DIS thread name on them.

I have no idea how many will ultimately join and sign up for this cruise, but you don't have to give something to everyone. For our cruise, there were about 130 participants, but that may be on the high side. There's actually no obligation to hand out anything if you prefer not to do that, but most do.

With respect to Universal -- we went once and did both parks in one day during Spring break week and left about 5:00 p.m. Haven't had the desire to return, but we will return next year after the cruise to see the new Harry Potter land at Universal.

There are some excellent coaster and thrill rides such as Hulk, Spiderman, Mummy and Dueling Dragons. I enjoyed the Studios better than Islands of Adventure, as I liked the earthquake attraction, twister, jaws, Men in Black, Jimmy Neutron, Shrek and Terminator 3-D.

Overall, it was a great diversion, but it seemed more for older kids and teens. I can't help you with the resorts or restaurants themselves, but I've heard good things about the resorts. I'd eat at one of the restaurants outside of the park in their nighttime area such as Emeril's, Jimmy Buffett's, etc. I like the fact that if you stay at their resorts, you get free front-of-the line passes. We are just Disney people and tend to be a little biased which is why we haven't returned.

Do you recall approximately how much the repo cruise was for 2 adults? Or do I have to learn to be patient :(

Chris,

thanks for the info. We are staying on sight, so the front of the line thing seems cool. I figure DS will enjoy the play/adventure areas, as he liked them at WDW. He is very into Dr Seuss right now, as he is learning to read, so that area should be fun. He also likes anything 3D !! He is a spidey fan, well Marvel comics, so I think it won't be a bad experience. Plus we want some kick back pool time too. Our last two trips ( DS's only two) to WDW were for his 3rd and 5th bdays, Oct 30th, and we just did parks no swimming. The weather really wasn't that warm, great for the parks, but not for a skinny kid to swim. Mid-June should be much better.

I'm going to keep thinking about the FE stuff, I like the idea, but no way can I afford 130 people !!

Regarding the FE gift exchange, we had 31 staterooms that participated (for our Oct 2008 cruise).

For our 2010 cruise, I think we will have a nice sized group! :)
