I'm thinking the ice has affected internet traffic between Florida and NY.

We can't get into our system so I guess it's just a little bit more DIS time. :surfweb:

gaRRy

It's not going to be warm here by this afternoon. 65 right now and a low in the 30s by tonight. As Maggie says, Christmas weather... December 26, it had better warm back up!!!

Everyone is talking cold & we're going to warm up ... I can't wait. Yesterday was so gloomy. Think it wound up being only 45 or so. By the end of the week we may be back up to 70. :cool1:

Kiki, glad to hear that your mom is improving. We will continue to pray for all of you.

Ang

We'll be down to freezing by tomorrow. Jay was hoping it wouldn't freeze last night, since he and Jared forgot to cover the citrus trees yesterday.

Were you happy with the outcome? I know I was!

YES!!! I was thrilled! Go Bob! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I thought he deserved it, too. He played a great game, didn't get cruel and evil, and won the most challenges. I couldn't believe that he's a year younger than Jay....he looks and acts so much older.

Oh well, at least with this weather, I can't complain about it not feeling like Christmas!
:cold: :santa: :cold: :santa: :cold::santa: :cold:

U-TOP!! Extra PDFG and for Karen's Mom and for Stephanie!

I had not watched the finally yet. Thanks! :sad2:

My Christmas ho-ho-ho is fading fast.

Jared and I set up the outdoor lights at the apartment, and Jay told us later that two of the strands weren't working, even though we'd checked them.
Today I went and got different lights, since those were the "tube lights" that can't be replaced, and Jordan and I took all the old ones down and new ones up. Nothing like doing a stinky job twice.
My menfolk have still not finished the outside of the house, and I don't necessarily care anymore. It's so close now, they may as well forget it.
And...since the great Christmas tree debate hasn't been settled, I put up our small fiber optic tree, set the gifts around it, and am done with it. End of debate.

So anyway, after all that, and 4 separate trips to the post office to stand in line, along with other silly things that have gone wrong....I've lost my "Merry".

Could be worse, I guess. A year ago today is when Jay whacked his fingers off.

Good Morning All...Seems like we have a little
grinch_santa.jpg

among us. I love Christmas, MERRY - MERRY - MERRY......

We too had the struggle with the lights - up, down, up, down. Think of it as free time without the gym. Our tree debate was settled. Sam selected the tree and chopped off the top. It now fits in the house...We went to the post office yesterday so we would not have to go today. Postage meter worked but the drop box was shut. Sam has to go back tday.

Hope you are Merry today, Stacey...

WELL it could be just A little worst??????????????????????????

I could come visit???????????????

and then the snow and cold weather would FOLLOW me there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did you put up a tree in the apt. for me?????????????????????

gaRRy

GaRRy - please stay away from us. We like Cool weather, not Cold weather. (Just kidding, come dowm whenever you want to).

Meanwhile, did you see the moon on Friday????

Had a busy day today. Mike's mom, her husband, and Mike's brother met us first thing in the morning and we spent the day at The Holyland Experience. It was actually pretty good! Mostly educational with a side of cheesy. ;)
Then we ate at Buca de Beppo and came home and celebrated Christmas. :)

Now I'm ready to curl up with a book in bed. :)

Someone had fun. When time, can you post about the Holyland Experience. I don't know anyone who ventured forth to that park yet.

Good Morning all!

Off and running as usual. John is in Chicago, he stayed on after his business trip, spending the weekend with his family. Maggie has lacrosse practice this morning and then the kids and I are off to John's Aunt and Uncle's house for their annual Christmas Open House/Brunch.

uuummmm, Christmas Food, I love it....

Prayers for my sister in law, please.

She has a cyst on her spine that's caused all kinds of other problems...bladder, bowel, obviously pain.

She had surgery yesterday to remove the cyst, but when the doctor opened her up, it was too tangled in nerves to remove. So she had horrible surgery for nothing.
She's flat on her back in the hospital for the next 5 days...and pretty darn miserable. My niece said that even the morphine isn't helping the pain.

Her name is Stephanie, and she's my brother Scott's wife.
Scott is scheduled for hernia surgery in a week, too. :sad2:

Stacey - so sorry to hear - all the best and prayers and pixie dust as well.
I hope they can come up with an alternative to assist her at this point since the surgery was not successful.

Hey everybody... Thanks so much for the P&PD... keep them coming, as they seem to be working today. Yesterday was a bad day, today was a GREAT day for her comparatively. She was laughing and joking, ate some today, and got some quality sleep. Dad, not so much... but he'll get there... he DID leave her room for lunch today while my sister and I stayed with her... which was a first.

She is scheduled to be released back to rehab tomorrow, but not to the hellhole she was in for the past 3 weeks. We are trying to get her into what is one of the best facilities in the country, only 8 miles away, but she needs to be evaluated, as she might not be severe enough to go there...

I'll be here til Tuesday, so I'll be glad that we can get her settled somewhere before I leave. I was able to give my sister a break yesterday to actually get some things done while I stayed at the hospital with Mom (and Dad, of course). The hospital wouldn't be as bad if it weren't under renovation... they have PLYWOOD over her window so the workers outside can't see in... sorry, but that's too reminiscent of hurricane season for me!!!!!

Keep praying!!! Thanks!

(And, oh by the way.... I'm FREEZING MY BUTT OFF HERE!)

Thanks for the update and continued prayers and good wishes.

It's not the Jeep's fault.

Matt goes to basic training in San Antonio and they get Hurricane Dolly.

He goes to tech school in Biloxi and they get hit by another hurricane.

Now he is in the middle of a blizzard in North Dakota that they are predicting is the worst in a decade.

The Jeep is still here. All this time we have been blaming the Jeep and it is really Matt's fault.

It's -12 degrees. -40+ wind chill. Not much snow on the ground, but it it blowing and causing white out conditions. Roads are closed. It's warm now compared to the -21 they are forecasting for Saturday.

He called us as he was walking to the cafe. Wind, nor rain, nor cold will keep Matt from making dinner time! :thumbsup2

Picture from the cafe.

Hum, and Matt did confess it was really his fault we started diving.....

We are cold and ice covered here in Chicagoland. Hopefully the salt Mark just put down will work before we have to leave and that will also give time for the street crews to come out and salt. Nothing like what Matt is facing however! :scared1:

You are talking a funny language - salt on the road, not in the seas?

Seriously, stay safe.
