Prayers and PixieDust, Kiki. If there is anything I can do, let me know. I'm here until Wednesday.

Matt is at his new base. He sent me a picture of his new uniform they gave me.

It's 2 and going to be a high of 8 degrees today. :lmao:

Matt's going to need it this weekend. Just heard on the radio that area is under a blizzard watch for this weekend.

I hate to say, I need even more P & PD for Mom... I just got a call from my sister that she has had another stroke, and is on her way to the hospital... she seems to have lost ALL of her eyesight... I am waiting to hear more from them before I finalize plans to go home. We are having our big annual Christmas party Saturday night, so if I go, I'll try to fly out Sunday morning... in a holding pattern for now, but losing my grip...

And a little guardian  angel for your Mom.

Prayers and pixie dust.

My Christmas ho-ho-ho is fading fast.

Jared and I set up the outdoor lights at the apartment, and Jay told us later that two of the strands weren't working, even though we'd checked them.
Today I went and got different lights, since those were the "tube lights" that can't be replaced, and Jordan and I took all the old ones down and new ones up. Nothing like doing a stinky job twice.
My menfolk have still not finished the outside of the house, and I don't necessarily care anymore. It's so close now, they may as well forget it.
And...since the great Christmas tree debate hasn't been settled, I put up our small fiber optic tree, set the gifts around it, and am done with it. End of debate.

So anyway, after all that, and 4 separate trips to the post office to stand in line, along with other silly things that have gone wrong....I've lost my "Merry".

Could be worse, I guess. A year ago today is when Jay whacked his fingers off.

WELL it could be just A little worst??????????????????????????

I could come visit???????????????

and then the snow and cold weather would FOLLOW me there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did you put up a tree in the apt. for me?????????????????????

Had a busy day today. Mike's mom, her husband, and Mike's brother met us first thing in the morning and we spent the day at The Holyland Experience. It was actually pretty good! Mostly educational with a side of cheesy. ;)
Then we ate at Buca de Beppo and came home and celebrated Christmas. :)

Now I'm ready to curl up with a book in bed. :)

Stay safe and warm Matt!!

Yes, his base is on blizzard warning. He goes from Hurricane Warnings to
blizzard warnings. Temps down to -14 with 40 MPH winds. Wind chills down to -40 degrees.

They pretty much have to stay on base for the weekend. To bad they only have a bowling alley, pool, skating rink, indoor golf simulator, cinema, .....and FOOD.

He has signed up for snow boarding next weekend. Never done it, but he is going to learn.

And this is exactly why we will be on DCL for Christmas!!

Good Morning all!

Off and running as usual. John is in Chicago, he stayed on after his business trip, spending the weekend with his family. Maggie has lacrosse practice this morning and then the kids and I are off to John's Aunt and Uncle's house for their annual Christmas Open House/Brunch.

The apartment is decorated better than my house is! But then, people can see the decorations (outside) at the apartment, no one drives by my house.

There is a small tree in the apartment...and a few other decorations.

You can come and bring your snow....doesn't scare me...it would melt fast!

Your tax dollars, hard at work!! Actually, I don't begrudge them one bit of it. Anyone stuck in North Dakota DESERVES lots of extra things to do!

Kiki, so sorry to hear that about your Mom. PPD coming your way. Keep us updated, OK?

I am leaving for the weekend, flying to Las Vegas then driving down to Laughlin. My Dad turns 80 on Sunday, my brother and I are going to surprise him. I didn't realize Laughlin was so far from LV, maybe we should have just driven there.

But Jim, don't they have video games too? Seems to be the favorite past time for young men these days. Hope he stays warm.

Speaking of blizzards, Alicia asked to go to The Pulse dance tour in Denver in February. Her dance team is planning to drive as a group, and stay in someone's basement. Driving to Denver in Feb? I said no.

Prayers for my sister in law, please.

She has a cyst on her spine that's caused all kinds of other problems...bladder, bowel, obviously pain.

She had surgery yesterday to remove the cyst, but when the doctor opened her up, it was too tangled in nerves to remove. So she had horrible surgery for nothing.
She's flat on her back in the hospital for the next 5 days...and pretty darn miserable. My niece said that even the morphine isn't helping the pain.

Her name is Stephanie, and she's my brother Scott's wife.
Scott is scheduled for hernia surgery in a week, too. :sad2:

Now that there are good highways, Laughlin isn't such a bad drive. It was bad in the "old days". Have fun, but don't surprise him too much!!
