Well, it is definitely raining. Sometimes just a light rain that's perfect for soaking into the ground, and sometimes close to pouring. :umbrella:

I seriously cannot complain at all...it had been over two months since we had any measurable rain at all.

Virgil....you guys may be having Thanksgiving dinner without us if the creek floods.

U-TOP....extra PDFG and Kiki's mom, and anyone else who needs it!!!

Everyone have a wonderful, blessed and bountiful Thanksgiving.

Good news is that the construction is complete and we have reclaimed a living room....

We are about ready to head off to Keesler AFB, minus scuba gear.

Diving has been called off. They are forecasting 5 ft + seas which is not good when diving double tanks.

The good side is that there is a whole lot more room in the car. :woohoo:
Have fun - say Hi to Matt for us!!!

Just now finishing up laundry and packing. When Jay gets home, I AM going to try to talk him into staying at the apartment. Earlier, he didn't think we'd need to, but it's going to pour rain all night and all day tomorrow.

I probably won't be back online, so everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Stacey -hope you don't mind. Your Thanksgiving artwork is so beautiful I just had to share it with our Member Cruise group.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving.

We made it into Biloxi earlier then expected last night so we picked up Matt. He is still happy and loving his decision to join the AF.

Last night we called Matt and had him book a room. Since we did not know where we would be I did not book anything.

He booked us into the Beau Rivage Casino. They must have figured out that we are friends of Stacy and Virgil because they upgraded us to a 2600 sf suite. Not bad for $108. Matt is going to book all our rooms from here on.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Have a wonderful day with family and good friends. :grouphug: There's nothing better. :goodvibes

Stacey, I also borrowed your wonderful artwork to share with my Jambo friends. :flower3:

Happy Thanksgiving All!

John and Maggie were up and out early - John worked a 5k Turkey Trot - Maggie either grabbed his spare camera or ran the kids k, I'm not sure which she decided to do.

Mike and I are having a lazy morning - alternating between Houston's parade and the Macy's parade on TV - gotta love DVR!!!

We're heading to John's aunt and uncle's house this afternoon for dinner. It's an "orphan" holiday a mixture of relatives and friends. We're having our traditional "must have" foods - John's bringing my grandmother's rolls, my aunt's Captain Crunch candy and he's making green bean casserole. Add in all of the other "must have" foods from the rest of the family and friends - I doubt we'll starve.

I just talked to my mom - she's having 26!!! She has all our relatives and all of John's family! My brother also called last night - his sister-in-law and her family flew in from Guatamala - they were supposed to visit family in New York first but decided to come to Chicago at the last minute.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Turkey is in the oven, stuffing is made, and the kids are out Go-Karting with Grampa. Just finished watching the Macy's Parade...

My mom was released from the hospital last night, and is now in a rehab facility for a week or two. She was planning on hosting Thanksgiving... my sister has moved Turkey-Central to her house, just a mile down the road. Wish I could be there... especially this year.

Ray flies out at 6AM tomorrow for Boston. I've got to work tomorrow, then I'll get the house decorated over the weekend. Lots of cleaning to do, and I NEED to make the new curtains for my kitchen and family room before our annual party... so I've got plenty to keep me busy. I'm not in the mood to shop this year... hopefully that will change, or I'm going to be in big trouble in another week or two.

I hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving yesterday. We did even though it was just us.

Like Kiki, I'm working today. I can work from home so I rolled out of bed a little before 6:00, put on some coffee & am working away. I'm still in my pjs .. gotta love it! The house is still dark & quiet. Last night I debated whether or not to go shopping. Our mall opened at midnight. I decided against it because I'd probably buy more than I really needed. I've never done Black Friday shopping before so I'm not sure if they have more on sale than advertised.

Jim, sounds like y'all got a "suite" deal at the Beau (pun intended). I hope y'all have a wonderful time with Matt.

Stacey I hope you crossed the creek in time.

Irene, glad to hear the construction is done. Do you have before & after photos? We have a total mess in the girls' rooms. We put up shelving in their closets last weekend & have been trying to clean up & clean out ever since!

Hey Angie! :wave2:

Northpointe & Discover Mills both opened at midnight. The 11pm news showed the lines outside DM........... I called it a night!! :)

Today is Rachel's 24th birthday. She wants to go to the mall this morning (Mall of GA) - getting her to wake up will be the battle! :rolleyes1 If I'm lucky, we might make it there by noon!

Happy Black Friday! :goodvibes

Hi Laura!

Happy Birthday to Rachel!

Glad it I didn't got to the mall if there were lines at 11:00. I wouldn't have been one of those crazies! There's no way I'm standing out in the cold. Like Bruce said last night, there will be more sales this holiday season since the economy is so bad. I'll just shop at my leisure. I wasn't sure how the sales would work. The mall was opening at midnight but the doorbuster deals advertised in the paper started anywhere from 4AM on.

Elizabeth, the same teenager who requires a stick of dynamite to get out of bed, was BABYSITTING at 4:30AM so that the neighbor could go shopping. More proof that kids will do ANYTHING for $$$$. Though I'm not so sure I'd call it 'babysitting'... at 4:15 when Ray left for the airport, he woke her up and she shuffled across the street in her pajamas and slippers, and is probably sound asleep on their couch right now.

I'm at work, pretending to work.

I did stop into one store this morning for one great bargain that I needed... and of course they were all gone. But it was already 7:45, and the store opened at 5... oh welll... in hindsight, I probably should have asked my neighbor to pick it up while she was out!

We are off to the mall in a few minutes. Matthew has an Personal Shopping appoinment at the Apple Store. That is the only way I would go. It will also be fun to watch Matt spend his own money. :cool1:

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Emerils in Gulfport. It was on the other side of the casino so the kids got to walk through their first casino. The casino's here are not very impressive. The people putting their money in the machines did not look like they were having fun.

After dinner I received the dreaded phone call......The weather has changed and diving is on. Oh well, the captain told me to not even bring out equipment so I didn't. I wish he did not call me, but nothing I can do about it now.

We are running a 1/2 marathon on Saturday. Since the forceasts were for 40 degrees we brought our cold weather running gear. Now the forecast is 70 degrees. How could they get it so wrong from Wednesday to today? I guess we will be plenty warm.

I'm in from my black Friday shopping. :lmao: I went to Home Depot to pick up some net lights for our bushes. Mark had bought a bunch and we put them on last night but they didn't go as far as we thought so we needed a few more.

Now I'm in for the day. Laundry and decorating the tree are on the agenda.

Sunday I get to fly out (on the busiest flying day of the year :scared1:) to go for training up in MN.

Taking a break from my holiday decorating to share my memories with you. Today is one of my favorite days of the year - the day I decorate the Christmas tree. I love taking each ornament out of its box or wrapper and remember the memories behind it. Some are old - like the worn satin ball Santa that was given to me by a grocery store clerk when I was about 6 and is the first ornament on the tree each year. Some are from our trips, some gifts from friends.

Back in 2004 when some of us sailed together over Christmas we had an ornament exchange as well as some gifts of ornaments. These all bring back such special memories of that cruise and of you guys.

No wonder I love this day!

It is amazing how often we all remember that cruise.

We have not made it back from shopping yet. Matt held Virgil's Apple stock price. He got a new Mac book. I really want a new laptop now. The best part was when the clerk as me how I wanted to pay for it. He was talking to the wrong person. I felt great when Matt pulled out his wallet.

After the mall we went to the D day museum. It was great. Very well done. Then on to Margiritaville Cafe for a very late lunch.

Now we are sitting in a wifi coffee shop so Matt can set up his computer. They don't have wifi in his dorm on base.

Mary, your tree sounds a lot like ours. Not a single "plain ball ornament" on it. Every single ornament carries memories with it. It's awesome.
