we drove by the house to check out the Smurf color.

It's not THAT blue... its not even Carolina Blue!!!! And no, its not Michigan blue either... though Michigan is pretty blue today!!!)

I'm sadden to report that JB's did not have rock shrimp today. :guilty:

Lisa and Grandpa finished her Latin project today so we celebrated with dinner at JB's. Prefect day to sit out on the deck and enjoy some fresh seafood.

I'm just glad that one more school project is done and I did not have to do it. I'll take Grandpa to JB's for every project if he will help her do it.

I finally have everything consolidated and ready for the movers on Monday Dec 1st. We get home from Vegas at about 1 pm on Sunday, so I needed to be done this weekend.
What a relief!!

The old bones really ache, though. :sad2:

We've been hovering right around 70° for the last few days. It's nice out if it's sunny. Cool in the shade.

Wow, don't want to break the silence, but

Where is everybody?

So, what are we all doing for Thanksgiving? I only have to make a couple of casseroles and a pie, we are going to Kevin's Mom's house. His sister is the super organized person here.

Thanks for the prayers... Mom was released from the hospital, but is now back in (because the stupid pharmacy wouldn't fill her anti-nausea Rx, and she ended up back in at 4AM this morning...) My sister says that now the doctor wants her to spend a week or so in a rehab facility to get her strength back. I really wish I could be there, but everyone (up there) is insisting that I stay here...

Angie- yes, GA is definitely COLD!!!! We just got back from Savannah, and it was FREEZING. Walked around all day yesterday, had dinner at Lady & Sons last night, and then just hung out in our hotel room... the cold had REALLY tired us out!!

I was out this weekend so I am glad that your Mom seems better. A week in rehab may help her get her strength back, but bad timing over Thanksgiving.

Hi there - we are here - keeping our heads down. Some posed Thanksgiving day plans a few pages back.

My post = I am conflicted with my excitement for Thanksgiving -- My plans had been to start preparing this week - good plans, but for the remodeling. The remodeling I mentioned is the guest bath. It is coming along, but it is not done and most of the fixtures are sitting in the living room. Not very pretty. But, it will be done. Repeat after me, it will be done. UPDATE - REPEAT AFTER ME - IT WILL BE DONE....We did pick up the turkey and trimmings this Sunday.

Ohio/Florida Minnie posted =We're flying up to Ohio this Friday. Mike and KT will travel to Columbus for THE game. Then Sunday we're celebrating Thanksgiving with my family (early, but we were going to be in town so my mom arranged it)

Mike works 10 hours on Thanksgiving day. (time and a half, so works for me!)

KikiKaren = We're flying up to Ohio this Friday. Mike and KT will travel to Columbus for THE game. Then Sunday we're celebrating Thanksgiving with my family (early, but we were going to be in town so my mom arranged it)

Stacey had to rub it in = Going to spend this weekend getting Megan's boxes and furniture ready for the movers. Thanks to gaRRy, I found someone to come and wrap it up, load it and move it, for less than it would have cost for me to do it. So this weekend, I need to divide up the boxes. She doesn't need a lot of kitchen stuff, so she's "donating" that to Jordan's boyfriend, who's buying his first house this winter.

NEXT weekend, for Thanksgiving, Jay, Jared and I will be joining Virgil, Frances and Lauren!!!

Oh - lookie - a U-TOP - I will share it with liver......one in particular - now what was that type?

Yes, it will be wonderful to see Virgil, Frances and Lauren.
Yes, it will be wonderful to get waited on and not have to cook a huge meal.

Yes, it will be HORRIBLE to not have wonderful leftovers!

Thanksgiving will be quiet for us. Just Mark and I. We'll have a full turkey dinner and then we'll put the tree up. I'm home on Friday so I'll do the decorating. Sunday afternoon I fly out to MN for 3 days of training for work.

I just got word that Matthew does not have to work over Thanksgiving weekend so everything looks like it will go as planned, diving subject to weather of course. :cool1:

It will be just the 4 of us plus Ray's Dad for Thanksgiving. Ray has a 6AM flight on Friday to Boston to work the BC/Maryland game. The kids and I will stay here and start decorating for Christmas.

We had planned on my parents getting here early next week, but obviously that won't be happening now. Spoke with Mom today. She sounded much better. (But while I was on the phone with her, my sister was in the ER having a major panic attack... she has anxiety issues that caught up with her in all of this...) Mom will head to the rehab facility tomorrow, for anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks. My aunt is making sure that Dad keeps eating and taking his meds (he is diabetic, and 'forgets' to take care of himself when he's worried about Mom...) I'll probably head up there for a few days in January.

Good news Jim. Here's hoping that the weather cooperates so you guys can dive.

Glad it will work out. and speaking of diving, did I mention it was 6-10 FEET this weekend. Glad I wimped out!

Of course it's supposed to start raining here tonight and tomorrow.
Always rains right before we're supposed to fly somewhere. :headache:

At least it finally feels more like fall.

Been gone, but now I'm back. :) Had a great time even though it was CCCCCOLD!

Some of the forecasts are calling for 8 feet this weekend so diving is not looking good.

That just means we get to send more time in New Orleans.

We're going to have a quiet Thanksgiving this year. We're staying put so it will just be the 4 of us. Bruce will attempt to smoke a turkey & I'll fix all of our typical sides - sweet potatoes, green beans, rice dressing with oysters. The turkey will not be done until dinner so I'll just make some snackie food for lunch - crawfish "pies", hot spinach/artichoke dip, Chex mix.

Stacey & Virgil, I hope y'all have a good time!

KikiKaren, sounds like your mom is doing a little better. I'm sure rehab will help.

Scuba family - enjoy your time with Matt. Say hello to New Orleans for me. We'll be there for Christmas.

Ang

Hi guys.

Kiki -- so sorry to hear about your mom. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

Jim -- glad it is working out that you will get to see Matt. Hopefully your Christmas plans will work out as well.

Well, today is the day I pick up Dale at the airport. I am so excited that I am having a hard time at work. I am leaving in 2 hours to pick him up :cool1:
Hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving!!

VERY TOUCHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are about ready to head off to Keesler AFB, minus scuba gear.

Diving has been called off. They are forecasting 5 ft + seas which is not good when diving double tanks.

The good side is that there is a whole lot more room in the car. :woohoo:
