Yeah, it's a tough call. When you are an adult, you don't put up with abusive people in your life unless you're a doormat. Why would we want to teach our kids to be doormats?

:flower: You are right, too. She has 2 teachers- they team teach, and one of them is very good... if I take her out, she loses both... the other teacher has really fostered her love of reading even more than ever, so I try to balance the good with the bad.

I'll take that as a TOP!pirate:

 Where IS everyone tonight????

well, we all spent most of the evening crying.

the beast is out of control and is about ready to be shipped back to the breeder---but breaking our kids' hearts was not in my gameplan so i'm having trouble making the actual call.

plus mike's mom has found out she has a very very large mass in her lower abdomen. she sees a gyn-onc doc tomorrow and we'll know a little more, but won't know for sure probably until it's taken out. the risk of advanced ovarian cancer looms in the back of our minds based on symptoms. so please keep Grandma Lightbulb in your prayers if you would.

i'm counting on everyone else to keep the topic light at this time. i have nothing light to say. (color change to keep in compliance with Amanda's law)

Karen, posted to you on the other thread.

Tonight's TV addictions included American Idol and Alias. Would have been Lost if not for the rerun. Don't know what everyone else was watching.

Very clever, Mark. I'm sure that happens all the time, I know I've had pics stolen on Ebay.
A banana for Kevin:

Gee, look, it's midnight, and I finally get to post!

It's been raining all day, so my satellite connection is out. Using dial-up. I'd forgotten how slow it is. But it's better than nothing. A lot of people in town lose phone service in the rain.

I could start in on the whole teacher thing, but you all said it very well.
Megan was our "drama queen".....and still is.
If the nurse calls for Jordan, I KNOW she's sick. And the nurse has never called me for Jared. Ever. He was bummed because missing those couple of days for the 10 night blew his perfect attendance.

Starting to get a little worried about the creek, and whether or not I will get out for my flight Friday...(tomorrow now)
Yes, Diana, I will have my lap top, and I plan on using it! Last summer Mom complained if I was on it, but this time, she can't wander in and check on me! :dancer:  :cold: :hourglass :shamrock:

I just discovered we have MORE new smilies!!

:disrocks: :ssst:
There's one up there of me freezing in Nebraska...and a shamrock for my birthday (1 hour after St Patrick's Day...and Irish, too)

I love it! But going to bed now. I can yak all day tomorrow. In between laundry and throwing some sweats in a suitcase.

:flower1: Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Thursday!

Hugs going out to all that need them (and it seems like a lot of our group does right now).

Karen/Mike - Prayers going out for Grandma Lightbulb - as a 15 year suvivor of ovarian cancer I can relate. As for Maggie - even though it will be a very tough call and the kids will be hurt think of how they could be hurt in the future if you don't call. :grouphug:

Stacey - here's hoping the creek doesn't flood so you can get to your mom.

Karen - hope your daughter is feeling better today.

Have a great day everyone!

 She had some color in her face (and it wasn't green color), so I sent her off to school... lets hope she stays there! After 14 hours of uninterrupted sleep, I think she's OK. I haven't spent a full day at the office in a week... I REALLY need to get some stuff done, so I'm crossing my fingers that I can actually stay here!!

Good wishes and pixie dust (I shook Tink and got a lot) for all those who are in need.

Kiki, glad your DD is feeling better and you get to work (I think) :badpc: :hourglass

The nurse has called me twice since I posted earlier... DD claims 'her stomach hurts'... I may be mean and rotten, but I sent her back to class... I told her that she has cried wolf so many times that I am purposely not going to believe her this time... maybe it will teach her a lesson. The nurse probably is calling DCS on me now- oh well... :guilty:

Hello All....
Creek is flooded and I can't go anywhere right now, which is okay since today is laundry and pack.
Jay and the kids got out this morning, but it's been rising steadily. It's not raining right now, and isn't supposed to for the rest of today, so I think by the time they need to come home it will be okay. And it will be okay for me to get out tomorrow.
Spoke too soon....just turned around and looked...it's raining again. Nuts.

Karen....hope the nurse doesn't turn you in.....I was the "Mean Mom" on the 10 night thread, I am thinking of handing that one over to you! LOL Just kidding....

Back to the laundry.....TTFN....:boat: :umbrella:

Talk about calling Child Protective Services!!! Is she okay?

Actually, now that you bring that up.......

I'm kind of sad!! :guilty: I used to tickle and play with DD a LOT. Now that she is "growing up" she is not as enamored with the tickling as in past years.

Oh well, my baby is getting big!!

Oh look!! A TOP! shared with Stacey!

BOY do I know how that goes, Kevin! I made the HUGE mistake of patting Jordan's rear....she loudly said "Don't touch me there!" HA. I told her "I gave birth to it, I diapered it, I'll touch it if I want to!"
It's a temporary phase. Give her a couple of years and she'll be huggable again.
I don't think we ever get to tickle them again, tho....:sad1:

Hugs are no problem, she just "hates" the ticklings now!

heavy sigh!! It might take a couple of years to wean me off though..

My mother always told me that tickling was a form of torture. (And she was serious...) :guilty:

Your mom would call protective services on us then. DDs LOVE to be tickled and when you stop they say "Do it again!" :cutie:

I don't like hearing that they don't want to be loved on any more. Guess we better enjoy it while it lasts! Emily is now 4.5 and I'm realizing that she's not my little girl any more  ... although she has moved from being a "Daddy's girl" to being a "Mommy's girl".
