We need to know if you are keeping this cruise a secret from the kids. I would hate for Lisa to ruin it for you.

Yes, we are TRYING to keep it a secret til Christmas... not so much for the 'present' part of it, but moreso because we don't want to listen to 509 days of "when do we leave"... I made the mistake of telling the kids this morning that I have SeaWorld passes for next Saturday... they have driven me crazy all day!!!!!

I doubt that I'll succeed in keeping my secret that long, though... I'll let you know when I slip up and open my big mouth...

We only have a few rules on the ship. One of them is to eat dinner as a family.

Dinner as a family is very important to us too, year round. (We eat as a family more than any family I know.) My DS is such an incredibly picky eater, that I am not looking forward to dinnertime with him onboard. I hope they will eat with us regularly... but I want this to be their vacation too... if there is a night that they want to eat w/ the kids (like when we try out Palo), I may try to give them that flexibility. Lots of time to figure that out, though!

This weeks pic is from the manatee dives in Blue Springs after the cruise. A mother manatee and her calf. Very fun!!!

I work about 10 minutes from Blue Springs... never knew you could dive there! I would love to learn to dive... I love snorkelling, but haven't ventured into scuba yet... maybe now that we live where its warm year round...

(been here 18 months, still haven't seen a manatee in 'the wild'!!)

Speaking of whom, Jim, you need to add that smiley Mark found to your signature. It's perfect! I have a gift in mind for you and will be keeping an eye out for the next year and a half. A really large wine glass, with a little spout on it! Jim would bring his big glass full to brunch and lunch, and offer to share. The trick was getting the wine out of his glass into the other glasses.

We will need to do the Banfi and dessert buffet again next cruise. By the end of the cruise, almost all the second seating tables were drinking Banfi with dinner.

I'll try the smiley Mark found for me. Just think, I have 17 months to start thinking about what wine I want to bring to this cruise. I will do another private label since the 10 day was so much fun.

Count us in for the Banfi and dessert Buffet. I still have one bottle remaining and will save it for this cruise.

We kept one of our christmas cruises a secret one year and told them the other two. We enjoyed the other two much more. In fact, we are all enjoying this one because the kids are watching this board.

However, they also understand that nothing comes between Scuba.Mom and the cruise. We were almost late for church this morning because she was reading the board, and it's still 17 months away.

Our whole family, excluding me, is addicted to DIS and cruises.

I just go along to carry the luggage, scuba gear, and the wine.

Blue Springs is not what I would call a great dive, except when the manatees are there. We really use it just for training (always have to practice our skills) and for washing our gear. The fresh water makes a great rinse tank.

Yup. I started the 10 day thread, left for awhile (b/c life does have demands) and then came back. I'll admit, I came back several times before starting to post again. I honestly thought everyone had gone nuts!! They were celebrating TOP's all the time (actually fighting for them) and chatting as if they had known each other for years. Finally I jumped back into the thread and was welcomed with open arms. I really feel like all of these people could be life long friends.

So jump in, tell us every minute detail that's going on in your life and we'll accept you as family

We had so much fun making friends on the 12/18/04 thread, we wanted to do it again. And we expect there will be new "old" friends by the time we get on the ship again.

Yeah, and after the 5/06 cruise, we'll all rebook for another cruise and pretty soon we'll have enough people to charter our own ship!!

What we did have was 18 months to get to know each other. Who were the early morning posters, who were the late night posters. Who had kids, who didn't. We shared ideas about door signs. We found things we had in common like scrapbooking.

We even shared every good time (like my ds getting a lead roll in a play) to the absolute worst nightmarish time (like us getting a puppy and all the trials with that.)

Anyone...just post something that happened to you today...good/bad/funny...whatever and we'll be there for you.

Oh yeah Stace it looked like your vow renewal was awesome! Just the one pic that I saw in Marys report! I would love to see more pics of it!

So far, Mary's is the only one I'VE seen. I haven't gotten the pictures and video from the wedding coordinator yet. When I do, I'm sure everyone will see some of them.....and you'll probably be sorry you asked!

Save a bottle of wine???? Especially the Banfi??? We have one brought back as well. I doubt it will make the end of the month. It all depends on what diet Diana has us on.........
