Both of my parents worked but they were both in education. They were always around and I don't remember ever doing after-care.

Ok ... back to the fluff now.

Ang

Both of my parents were in education too. So they did have summer breaks and holiday breaks. I did go to aftercare....it was my mom's kindergarten room. And there she put me to work ripping pages out of workbooks, cleaning toys, and grading papers. I had no idea there was such a thing as day care, but if I did I might have cried "child labor laws" and gone there instead!! :lmao: :lmao:

Hey, Angie. I'm a stay at home, homeschooling mom. Some days I am SOOOOO envious of a mom like you who can spend a little time away from the kids! :)

Oh please, please, pretty please.....let me comment about your post! :rotfl:

Go right ahead. I'm not afraid of you. My kids are, but that's a WHOLE 'NUTHER story!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Let's just say I wanted to ship wine to the Magic and not lug it on the plane/car/ship....

What would be the BEST way to pack that??

I dropped Emily off at school this morning. There are probably 4 trailers sitting in the yard. Sad that a school that is only 2 years old has already outgrown its capacity. :sad2:

I went back later for a mother's breakfast in the classroom. I sort of felt out of place. All of the other mom's were dressed in their Sunday best. There I was in blue jeans. As programmers that NEVER see customers, we're very casual. I RARELY dress up. And, somehow I felt like I'm the only working mom. I was at a table of 4 and I was the only one that worked.

Ang

I know how you feel. My welding shop "uniform" is jeans, tennies, polo. I gave up caring what the upscale moms thought about me a long time ago..........

Well, we are documented. Lime green luggage tags and a surprise! Two Walt Disney Travel Company lanyards and four pins. That was nice. Stacey, I will still help you hand out cups on deck 9.

I told you I was going to be the last one.....and that's only if they come at all !!!

I hate that feeling. Around here, there are a lot of towns where working moms are practically unheard of. And like you, I've frequently found myself the only one in a group of Erin's school friends' parents. This summer will be the first time that I've been a stay-at-home mom since Erin was 3 months olds, so I guess I'm crossing over to the other side. Should be interesting...

I agree with everyone who said that pulling double-duty is something to be proud of. Especially if you do it as well as you seem to!

Hope you're safe. I was thinking about you & ladypoo. The weather missed us but boy is is a BLUSTERY pooh: day today.

Thanks Ang, We were farther south than the storm. We were under severe weather watches, though. All we got was some rain.

Angie,

I also am the product of two working parents. I turned out alright. Didn't I? Nevermind. Don't go with that argument!! :) :lmao: :lmao:

Yep... me too... Mom went back to work when I was 8 months old... I went back to work when my kids were 8 weeks old... I'm a much better mother to them when I'm not with them 24/7.

(It helps that they had the world's best sitter when they were little... she took better care of them than I ever could!)

Don't worry, Stacey!
We haven't gotten ours either. We still have time and we'll all be on the ship "soon"...inspite of Virgil waving to to the dock!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :lmao:

That was funny....

I would call UPS and ask them.
Lots of bubble wrap and newspaper is my guess...

Time For A Toppirate: I figured since I have not had one in a while I would take one ARRRGGGHHH!!

We did get about 2 hrs of rain today it helped a little bit.

Help!

I'm having a LOT of trouble getting a posting to go thru. This is a test. I keep getting an error message that says my posting has "one or more URLs." But it doesn't. Any suggestions? Bueller? Anyone?

Hi Neil!

Welcome back!
I have no idea what your error message means, sorry.

What time are you expecting to board the ship? As someone mentioned, you'll see everyone wearing their buttons and I know the boys will find each other...especially at dinner.

What seating do you have and are you linked with others? If not, look for the loudest group of people at dinner and you will have found us!

We have main seating.

No Stinkin' Recipe Bruschetta: buy Pane' or Panetta bread, slice it real thin, top with mozarella (marinated mozarella is REALLY good), then with bottled Bruschetta (they sell it everywhere now); broil until the cheese is melted and the bread starts to brown. Eat. (Scuba Jim suggests toasting the bread first. Bruschetta is available in many different flavors, tomato with a variety of spices, artichoke, olive.)

Thanks, guess I have a stinking recipe now!!! :thumbsup2

Door Sign Question -- Instead of printing on magnetic paper, could I just print on card stock, laminate it and then apply magnets? Not sure I want to try and mess with magnetic paper.

I have made a few signs using Printmaster. I tried uploading to photobucket so I could post, but they are saved with .sig and it says photobucket doesn't support it. I only made one from scratch, and the others I found that people had posted pre-made and I customized it for us. I am just not very creative, but I am working on it.

I am so jealous Diana that you got lanyards and pins. Who did you book with? I didn't get anything, but I did save over $300 off of DCL and other's prices.

Sherry -- where did you find your mickey avatar. He is so cute, I would love to use him on a door sign -- do you mind sharing???

I'd probably check with a wine store to see what they'd recommend. Either they or the UPS store will probably have something you can pack the bottles in.

Pam, I think you were reading my mind! I'm not going to use magnetic paper. I'm going to print mine on photo paper, adhere it to cardstock to give it some weight, and then use adhesive magnetic strips. Done.

Does Printmaster have a Save As option? If so, check for a pull-down menu that will allow you to save the file as a jpg. That should allow you to post it to Photobucket. Can't wait to see it!
