Welcome, Soothy

Rain, Rain continue to fall in Florida.... because even a rainy day in Florida is better than a sunny day anywhere else or so the commercial says.

Did anyone see the Apprentice last evening? Who got fired?

Have a great day

See - I'm not the only one. Mine don't say anything either. All's I know is that I will be on that ship come Saturday morning. As soon as they open them there doors, we're in and ready for some fun. Get out of my way.

Okay I thought I was the only crazy one that did not get this info in my booklet either. And trust me I kept looking trying to find it. Maybe we all checked in online and they just saved a tree not adding another page to our booklets??? :confused3

I don't think you'll want to do that to your cc.
You are way too kind to offer!! :wave2:

I'll pm you later.

Well, of course, this isn't for the official DIS gift exchange in which I drew your name.... :lmao: I am ASSUMING you'd pay me back. :)

Okay will stay :confused3 Guess it will be a surprise when we get on board as to when we leave Cozumel. Just hope the nights are correct or I will need to change Palo ressies.

Would love to send FL some rain. That is all we have had for the last 4 days now and more coming tomorrow and next day.

You are too funny! :rotfl2:
But the run around or calling around to different stores is too much. Plus, if you happen to talk with someone who doesn't know any better, they may tell you yes, when in fact the answer is no....

My Honey is in Dallas, so he'll check around there....I hope so???!!!

Thank you again, OM!!!

Me and my Hubby are going on our first DCL trip.

Welcome Soothy and Hubby!!!! :welcome: :welcome: :jumping1: :jumping1: party: party:

We are my DH, DS 15, DS 13 and myself. This is our second cruise, but will be our first time to Castaway!!!

We are travelling with another family (from OH) and my DH's parents!!! Woo HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My thinking on the booklets and I could be totally wrong on this is that those who checked in online a while ago (before the booklets were printed - not mailed) did not get the booklet. But those of us who booked online in say the last week or so (after the booklets were printed) did get one.

Make sense to anyone?

The D50 is a great camera! Diana got that same one a few months back. That's what actually tipped me to the Nikon way since I was looking at both Nikon and Canon. It's better to have one set of lenses instead of two. However, Diana is not as compulsive as I about photography in general :confused3

You can check out the 18-200mm lens! I have found it very useful as a "all around" lens! It's pretty small, fairly light and has good glass. Not great as a macro lens, but then that why they make them interchangeable!!

Yes, I agree about one brand SLR in the family as the lenses add a bit to the whole kit and kaboodle.
I'm glad to hear you like the D50 as not too many on the photo board post about it.

As I mentioned earlier, I am new, new, new to the SLR way of taking pictures. I don't want to keep it on AUTO the whole cruise!

It sounds like we have a few "pros" so I hope you all don't mind teaching me! :teeth:

Thanks.

As I recommeded to Kevin, I HIGHLY recommend Thom Hogan's guides. His D50 guides is here

http://www.bythom.com/d50guide.htm

This will help you get up to speed on how to maximize the camera before the cruise!!

Thank you MickeyMo'sBo.
Did you print out all 600 plus pages???!! It doesn't look like it comes in the real book format...does it?

I'll have to get it, but I'd rather have it in book format so I can read it anywhere...Like the drive down, for instance!

I can only do this for so long.... :surfweb:

I have the (now don't laugh!) DSLR book of Photography for Dummies! :goodvibes
Or something like that.
I bought it in January knowing that the purchase was meant for this year....

Thank you again for the suggestion. I better order more printer ink while I'm at it!

This is exactly what I was thinking!

I am relieved to hear that arriving at the port without docs is no big deal...now I must remember to have Tracker1 give his true first name at the gate instead of the name we use (his middle name).
On our last cruise, he insisted his name was Adam and the poor man told him that there was no Adam listed in our cabin, but there were two Pauls.... :confused3
(DS is named after his Dad, Paul...)

Been there, done that! Kevin has three first names "Charles Kevin Eddy". Confuses the heck out of people. Did not realize until a day or two before a Celebrity cruise we took a couple of years ago that his docs said "Kevin Charles". Who's that?

I intend to take it to one of the printing places, like Office Club or Staples and have them print and bind it.

Send it to Karen - she's got a binding machine :)

Any Veronica Mars fans here? The season finale is tonight, and it's supposed to be Amazing. We really like that show, it's got everything, even an appealing lead character. If you've never watched it, it would be a good one for your Netflix queue!

BAGS/SHIRTS UPDATE::

All packages are ready to ship. Fed Ex has been scheduled for pickup and they are just waiting for him to get there. Even all of you I spoke with yesterday, all is taken care of and your packages will make it out of the store today as well.

Here is a shipping schedule for Fed Ex Ground:

New Mexico - 1 day
Texas - 1-2 days
Arizona - 2 days
Nevada - 3 days
Georgia - 3 days
Miss./Alabama - 3 -4 days
Florida/New York - 5-6 days

Not sure if that starts when Fed ex picks up later today or if it starts tomorrow.

We only have one order that has not shipped (JULETIME). If you see this, please email me.

Saving the best for last, are we? (I'm sure Maria would agree, too) :rotfl:

Thanks for all your hard work on getting that darn order straight!!!! I guess we owe you a drink too...

(Though I think by the time we all get though buying each other the drinks we owe each other, we might as well just drink them ourselves!!!)

I see a milestone post in our future... won't be me... we're going out tonight...

Pam - so where does IL fall into this. Also will you have tracking numbers for us so that we can track our own.

Thanks!
