Amélie Nothomb (born August 13, 1967) is a Belgian writer. She was born in Kobe, Japan to Belgian diplomats, before living in China, New York, Bangladesh, Burma, and Laos.

Frank Sinatra

Courtney Love

and the infamous "no match"....

Fun, but shall we say, not real accurate?

Are we all going to have to have "Eels are cute" siggies?
No way!

How many swimsuits do I REALLY need? 2 or 3?
Depends. I have read that the hot tubs are real aggressive on them and will wear them out prematurely. Depends how much time you plan on spending in one over the week, I guess.

Grounhog - woodchuck, same same. Ours is not THAT big. Cute little guy. I like when they stand on their back legs. Does yours need a friend???
Our chipmunk regularly gives us a wakeup by finding the highest spot he can get to and begins chirping.

I had to call linksys today for that trouble with my wi-fi and guess where the guy was that helped me? India. Unbelievable. Guess it's cheaper to job-it out than it is to keep it here in the USA? Go figure. Well, he finally fixed me and I'm back surfin'. Ain't life sweet?
Glad you got it fixed. On our last roadtrip I bought a wifi pc card for our old notebook. It didn't work. After spending a half hour re-going thru the same exact tech guide that's in the booklet that came with it, and my telling him I already did that, but he keeps saying you do it again anyway, the guy I could almost not understand says it's the notebook's bios. Riiight. Took it back to the store, they plugged it in a brand new notebook and wow gee it didn't work. Needless to say I just got a refund, and wound up just replacing the notebook not too long ago. Honestly I don't have much liking for this outsourcing to foreign countries so they can read a cue card to me.

Just remember to change your name BEFORE Mark's button deadline...
Too late! I already made the buttons for just about everyone on the list. :p

So when they ask "how many staterooms?" say "83" :lmao:
Seriously, someone should inquire if there is any procedure for a group boarding.

HVAC guy just left. The air conditioner compressor is shot. He couldn't give me a price range for a new one. He said that the old one was a 10 seer and they have to put in at least a 13 seer (more energy efficient), which also means a new coil. Sounds like we'd better cancel our cabana massage at CC to save some $$ so we can stay cool this summer.
Yeesh. Sorry to hear it. We've been pushing our luck with the 16-plus year old furnace/ac setup that was already in the house when we moved in. I take good care of it, but think this fall is about time to be thinking of replacing it.

:confused3 Hey all, forgive me, but I am still in "Catch-Up" mode here.... but, what does PDFG mean?

Also, does anyone here know how long it takes to get your Scuba certification? I was hoping to do it in time for the cruise, but, I have been so busy with other things that it slipped my mind... :confused3

Thanks!s1

PDFG - Pixie Dust for Garry......

As for Scuba certification --- you are in Conn....it is cold there right?
There are several certification courses, PADI, YMCA Scuba, Force E -- they all offer both textbook, pool and open water diving. My course (back in the dark ages) took 6 weeks....I am not sure it is that long now, but I would caution you if you wish to jump into the water in Mexico on your first dive after certification. Perhaps I am being too cautious. Many dive companies may require a minimum amount of time diving, this I do not know. You may wish to check the requirements...

I think you have left it a little late....but you can still snorkle....

Can our more experienced divers jump in here please.......am I too cautious?????

Cruise Question?

In Coz it will be CodyJ, Nick and me. Jeanne doesn't want to tender. Can we join the group going to Paradise Beach?

WHAT IS JB's?

For those of you who have not read all 3000+ pages, but have recently been reading about JB's Fish Camp. Let me share a few pictures of what JB's is like.

You should consider a "resort" course. Sometimes it is called a discovery course. It is a one day course where you do a dive with an instructor. It is a great way to dive in the islands, get the experience, enjoy the water, but not have to worry about certification. I'm not sure if DCL is offering that is one of their excursions. If not, many local dive shops should be able to arrange it for you.

That is probably much safer than getting a quick certification and having your first open water dives be on this trip.

Now, we will wait for the experts opinion. Oh, Tinksdad. Where are you?

Sure. Feel free. I'm not in the group, but I doubt they would mind. Just tell them the Coach said it was okay. :lmao:

Wow, I did not even know that was an option... I will try to research the ports for a "Discovery Course"

Does anyone have experience with the ports that might know about that?

Thanks for that suggestion... How long have you been diving? Do you just love it? It is something I have always wanted to do... it looks like so much fun!

That is probably good advice... I actually live in Las Vegas, and the only water around here is "Lake Mead" so, I am not sure it would equate to the experience of the open ocean...

Is so far as PDFG goes, thanks for the PM with more detail... I will certainly be directing both my Pixie Dust and Prayers his way... :thumbsup2

This might be what you are looking for....http://www.padi.com/english/common/courses/rec/begin/dsdsd.asp
I know they offer it at St. Thomas - won't help you much in Mexico...

I googled padi discover scube and cozumel and found several like this....try http://www.scubaclubcozumel.com/training.html

and a UTOP with diving what a great way to end the day...

I got my first pair of CROCS yesterday (ordered from REI). I got the light blue nile ones. I am wearing them now to see how they do on my feet. I can't see spending all day in them at WDW though. I have a weak ankle and I am afraid that there is not enough support. Now I am waiting on the SAFE SEA to arrive.

Have fun today everyone.

I wore my CROCS at WDW when we were there for spring break the first of the month, and my legs nor feet hurt. They are the only pair I had taken with me. They arent good to wear anywhere else now, as they have formed to my bare feet.
I had to buy another pair to wear to work.

What about SNUBA? I know my sister did that for awhile before she could get totally certified in SCUBA. Of course, now she's totally certifiable!!! :lmao:
