OK, never mind. It stars James Franco and barely made a blip at the box office. Rotten Tomotoes ranked it at 11%. It's been out a while too. Aren't there any new movies?

We have a Cannon Rebel XT (I think) ;) We bought it just about a year ago and LOVE it. It takes great pictures. (except when we had something on the lens and it left two splotches on every picture--not the camera's fault)

I do know it's much bulkier than the little digitals we've had. Requires a much bigger fanny pack. But then again, my fanny is bigger now, so it's all proportional!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

DSLRs are great, but you're right - they're much bulkier than non-SLRs. Worth it for some pics,.though.

This is the first trip that I'm taking my 20-D. I'm also taking my tiny Sony. Each is good for different things, and the Sony takes up no room, so why not?

I did ask over there!

I have a new Nikon D200!! Quite the awesome camera, got it with the 18-200mm AFS VR lens (plus a couple of others). Amazing pictures!

I also have a Olympus 7070 with an underwater housing that I use for the scuba diving. My main gripe about that camera or that type of cameras (prosumer types) is the slow shutter release speed. Underwater, I was getting fish butts due it. The D200 is blazing fast and can take RAW pictures up to 5 per second up to 20exposures! Very nice!! But the cost of housings for the big boy cameras cost more than the camera, some several times......... will have to wait awhile for that to happen.

If you haven't heard of it, I HIGHLY recommend Thom Hogan's Nikon Camera Guides. He just released one for the D200 - It takes the manual and expands on it based on Thom's experiance and extensive hands-on playing with the camera.

Julia - How did you like the outcome? I think Charmaine needed to go. And Tarek(?) was not "the genius" that the reports say. He may be a genius on books, but common sense and just normal "life", he's out there. I was pretty happy with the outcome. And boy oh boy, Lee, I think we will see him in a politician's role one day just like "the Donald" said. It'll be interesting to see the mix that happens next week. You know they can't leave a team to 2 players. Who's your vote for the winner? It's getting down to the wire.

I likes the outcome and glad both went.
after that we watched prison break and then 24 so I am tired today and now I am off to take DS to his baseball game.

Just wanted to jump in and say that Hair Cuttery(the winning teams) was in my home town (Long Beach/Oceanside)! I am in that mall every weekend and don't you know it the one time I don't go they are taping the Apprentice!!! We even go the to Pizza palor that Sean went to - they have the BEST pizza. Talk about a small world. The woman that they asked in front of the movie theater to go to the grand opening goes to my church too!! Ohh - I would have definetly gone in to have my hair done if I had known about it.

STACEY - ARE YOU BEING MEAN AGAIN.

I just called to find out what movies would be playing. I think I got them all written down.

******
I was hoping to see DaVinci Code, and ds was hoping to see Hoot. Oh, well, there are several of those that we haven't seen, yet, and the ones that we have seen haven't been on the 'big screen'. We never did go see a movie on our first cruise, so I've never been in the theater on board.

One of my goals is to see a movie on board....Other than the one day it runs in the theatre....I'm up for:

Narnia and the Wild - must check out the others...Naria will be cool under the stars at night. I bet the Wild plays in the theatres - is it the newest?

This from someone who has not been to a move since the last HP.

Cool! I've seen three of those, but the rest is "new territory" for me.

The theater is nice, my only complaint is the minimal leg room.........

Some of us do not have that problem. :teeth:

We like those SRLs! Did they ever start using the one at Soarin'?

Don't think so -but they asked if there were single riders to fill up Sorin' when we were there this past weekend.

Irene - You can't cut your hair. That's how I can find you easily in a crowd - your long braid. It was funny to see you scuba diving with your (3ft or so braid) floating straight up in the water. I hope Jim or Matt got a picture of that. I do know Matt has a picture of you "marching" into the Dive Entry way.

OK - bangs only.......and about that picture that Matt took....well, shall we just say that wetsuits are not the fashion statement I would recommend......wonder if I can bribe him...... :teeth:

I really don't want to drag the tripod on the trip, but that is the best way to photograph fireworks. Maybe they rent them in WDW??? Anyone know???
dunno.gif

Memo to self:

Remember to pack small collapsible tripod......I forgot it in years past, not this year...Thanks Kevin...

Hi Kevin.

Thank you for the safe sea link...again!

Also, I've recently discovered the photography board...you may want to ask over there about the tripod. That is a good question.
They have some terrific tips on how to take fireworks photos as well.

BTW, what kind of camera are you using? We're thinking about picking up a dslr before the cruise???!!! I'm not new to digital, but am very new to slr...

(I'm armyfam...not Tracker! Oh well....)

susan

Susan - what is the site link please. :cool1:

The funny thing is....the skirt itself is black and white...it's the under skirt that's a certain color. So most likely, no one will see that part, anyway. Unless I drink too much wine and end up on the floor.......:rotfl2: ....like that.

Or dancing on the tables :yay:

Hair with positive buoyancy??? Who would have thunk it??

I'll make sure I get some pictures of it in Cozumel!!! :woohoo:

Don't count on it...I normally tuck the hair into the suit over which I wear a rash guard over which I wear the wetsuit....However, Mickey (not Minnie) picked the dress code, so no rash guards were allowed, and could not tuck hair because of velcro on the back zip wetsuit...Now you know why I have a front zip.

See ladies, yet another sport where we have to dress the part :rotfl2:

I MESSED UP!!

Just got off the phone with Valerie and I counted wrong when I gave her the spreadsheet. I counted 2 extra kids mediums instead of 2 Adult Mediums. We are now 2 adult medium shirts shorts. She has ordered them, but they won't be here until Thursday. By the time they get them printed, it looks like it will now be Monday before she will ship everything. The bags haven't been printed yet, because they have been experimenting with the puff print and how dimensional they want it. Those will be ready to go, so when they get the 2 adult medium shirts in and printed everything will be ready.

Terribly sorry that I can't count right!!

Not a problem....take two willing medium adults, toss them some wine - and problem solved.....Or does that only work with Stacey's skirt?????? :teeth:

Seriously, we have time, not to worry...... :hourglass

A note on wine parties. They're fun, but it does require booking a private room with DCL. Someone else took care of it on our last cruise, so I don't know what it costs. I know they had to order some snacks, which cost money, and we all chipped in to tip the servers that were there. We all brought wine, DCL provided glasses, and it was fun.

Booking this would involve not only making the arrangements with DCL (we used the piano lounge), but also putting the room and food on your account and collecting from the participants. If anyone wants to take this on, I guess they get to pick the time & date!

We had a small but select group on the November cruise and crashed the secret deck and brought our own glasses....now for our crew :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: perhaps the Theatre :teeth:

Another milestone coming up soon...hmm I think it will be gone by the time I get off work 2mmrw
