I really don't want to drag the tripod on the trip, but that is the best way to photograph fireworks. Maybe they rent them in WDW??? Anyone know???
dunno.gif

I dumped the tripod years and years ago.

Monopod + small bungee cord + the railing that runs all around the lagoon

works just as good.

They make some nice ones that fold down really small to pack in luggage.

Where are the docs & nurses & parents? We've covered the peein', poopin' & pukin'. So, I've got another unpleasant topic ... can children get hemorrhoids? Waiting for the on-call nurse to call back but haven't heard anything yet.

Ang

:guilty: :guilty: :guilty: Oh no! I think kids can get them, but I'm not sure. Have you talked to your pediatrician?

More lovely dinner table talk!

Irene, most of the movies are new to us. We don't go to the movies very often ... just cost to darn much. Last family movie we saw was Curious George ... I know ... not Disney.

Ang

We're a bit after HP - our last family movie was cheaper by the dozen 2...Haven't seen George yet...

I've started following a friend's advice - each Friday he adds the new in-theatre movies to his Netflix queue. If they happen to go see it - he removes it. Then when they are released to DVD - he doesn't have to remember if it was one they wanted to see originally and the films are automatically moved out of the saved section into his queue...

Kids just got hoodwinked today in the mail, next week - Nanny McFee :thumbsup2 all movies both kids wanted to see but never got a chance.

Sorry, Angie. Most of my nursing career days were with babies in the ICU. :( and Doc Mike is on call and at the office now (although he called me 30 minutes ago to let us know "our" plane was making a crash landing. ("our" plane meaning the Embray (sp?) Air version that we always fly.

Just my daily reminer... the button machine goes back in the attic to stay come monday morning...

Now just a reminder for the new cruisers.

We have a website that has all the really important info for meeting other Dis cruisers druing the cruise here:

Unfortunately, some things are done.

But the deadline of May 7th for getting buttons and being listed in the mini-nav is coming up quick!

Hustle up recent additions to this blabbermouth crowd!

That's right.....two of my favorite sayings are "the early bird gets the worm" and "you snooze, you lose."

of course, I never remember that when it comes time to get the kids new clothes and now llbean and lands' end are OUT of some of the things they wanted. oops.

Ah, thanks. I started taping it on Tivo, but didn't want to watch in front of the kids. "HEY, kids....look at that, that's the kind of airplane we'll be flying in 24 days!!! And it's coming in without fully functioning landing gear!!!!!" :earseek:

Glad everyone was ok. And kudos to the pilot for landing it b/c I'm sure he had to do some fancy flying to keep that one wheel off the ground as long as possible. (based soley on movies that I've seen) :lmao:

Hey we are big 'bahners.... how does the new one compare? We keep saying we are going every year and just end up at the hyatt in San Antonio and driving back and forth... I have heard it is really nice, but not as big??? Fun stuff?

Believe it or not, we've never taken a drive out to the biggie - always seems there's some sport in the spring or fall - and we don't really want to fight the crowds in the summer...Maybe this fall...

So, don't know how it compares...2 of the sections are open and starting construction on the 3rd. Even with the 3rd section up and running - it'll still be a one-day water park...Not a weekend destination mini-vacation.

My big test at a pool is always going into a bathroom mid-day and checking the condition... 4:00 it was immaculate and no standing water...I was impressed!!! (Another occupational hazzard as a former aquatic director... - gotta check out ALL the facilities...)

we might just have to coordinate a reunion meet in SA???!!! :thumbsup2

So what's for dinner tonight? We're having Trader Joe's menu. TJ shrimp stuffed wild salmon rolls, mushroom risotto, and asparagus roasted with truffle oil, almonds and balsamic vinegar. OK, the last one is my creation. Sipping a glass of Italian red while it's cooking. And it only took me twenty minutes to put it together! I love Trader Joe's.

I think I should have had dinner at your house and shipped the kids to OM's!!! :rotfl2: Tonight was girl scouts and then tap at the studio, I took leftover chili out of the freezer for Frito Pie...

I wish we had a Trader Joe's!!!

Well, I may not be making much vacation planning progress, but the kids are KICKING BUTT on their schoolwork. I've given them souped up schedules these last few weeks and they have REALLY brought their end dates back quite a bit!! Nick for example, was due to finish Literature on June 19th just a few short weeks ago. Now he's due to finish NEXT Thursday, May 11th!!! :) :) :)

Didn't want to watch it either - seemed kinda weird watching a potential accident waiting to happen.

Has it been released yet? I was checking out his site a couple of months ago and it was still a "work in progress".

Does sound good though. Have you seen it, or do you have some of his previous work?

I have the D100 book and he is an active poster on DPreview. Thom's D200 book is out. Thom is probalby the most realistic, balanced expert on the forum.

Another good post-processing book is Ron Reznic's eBook. I have the first edition I believe he has revised it.

Have you ever looked at the Fantasea enclosures

For $180 and the cost of a decent coolpix might be a decent UW rig.

Yup, I think so. And I think Pam and/or Maria will choke you! I'm sure they'd be more than willing to email you whatever graphics were used and you could find someone to run that second printing. But, I'm guessing here, Pam and Maria are DONE making shirts. :) Am I right, girls?

You know i actualy did think about that... I have the t-shirt maker program and it will scan things....

But I am worried we would look like the poor step-children.

Honestly i am afraid I will trash the computer when it dosen't work right and make me my shirt!!!! :badpc: :rotfl2:

Yes! Phew!
Hated missing those days, but we'll make it up with some hard work. Still haven't heard what the official problem was. Don't really care as long as they fixed it and can, hopefully, keep it from happening again! :)
