A wildfire that threatened hundreds of homes in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, dissipated overnight and by Monday afternoon was "basically contained," said Mike Brouilette, spokesman for the city's police department.


The blaze destroyed three homes, closed part of Interstate 95 and forced the evacuation of at least 800 residents of an upscale subdivision as it grew to 1,000 acres Sunday, according to Shannon Lewis, a spokeswoman for the city in northeastern Florida.

Speaking of gicing things out, I read a thread on the main board about DISers giving stuff out to fellow DISers once onboard...the only time we did something like this was at halloween time....some of the ideas on the thread were really neat, but please tell me I am not going to feel like a shameel (sp? real word? whoknows) LOL for not having thought to bring anything to give out to yall?!?!? I like yall and all that, but I dont think about stuff like that! LOL

Amanda, they're just little tatoos. Nothing to write home about. Just something for Pirate night since we are wearing Tropical and not going all out with the pirate-wear. I don't think you have to worry.

Oh, BTW - I spoke with my brother and he just got back to me and said that he is sorry but he won't be able to get those tickets for Madonna. I'm really sorry. I was kind of looking forward to seeing her.

I am sure it has been answered but in case not, I pack Tees for my kids. They are easy and comfy.
Travel iron, I think are not allowed in the staterooms for fire hazards. We usually send stuff out the first thing to be pressed.

Thanks for the answers on your other post too. That's as far as I have gotten so far (many pages left to catch up on) but I appreciate the answers so far. So I know what a message fish is and I know what UTOP stands for now.
Bullfrog is really good sunscreen but the only kind I've ever used is the spray on for the body- stick for the face. I guess maybe I should have mentioned i need one that is more like lotion that soaks in. I can't do the stick kind because although I know it works REALLY well (on the kids even in our Texas sun all summer long and I mean like days on end outside all day long at water parks and such and never the slightest hint of red or even tanning on the face really at all)- it's too greasy. I can't wear that stuff on my face for a week. I already have the greasy t-zone.. and adult acne trying to attack me lately.

Oh my goodness. don't get nightmares over that. *I* don't even worry about it and he's MY dh. I'll just keep him away from SCUBA gear and it will be a non-issue. Then again, it's not like it's a big deal b/c he had no desire to SCUBA in the first place.

Our entire family uses Water Babies (spf 45 I believe) Have been using it for the last 11 years. And summer just doesn't smell like summer anymore without it. It's a lotion-y kind.

Amanda if you are booked on points those are the only towels you will get. If you need more you will be charged for them. How many you get depends on the size room you have. With 7 people I'm assuming you are in a 2 bedroom. You should be fine with towels. Also you will have a washer and dryer in the room with you.

DUH! I forgot aboyt the washer/.dryer! Thanks for the reminder! LOL Im not used to bein able to do laundry on vacaiotn!
