OMG... The HOOTERS! I haven't heard that name in so long. I used to love them, and saw them countless times in the mid-80s before they hit it "big" (well, as big as they ever did) and left Philly.

--Samantha

They are playing for the bicentennial of the town that I grew up in... Rob Hyman is from there... his dad lives in my parents condo complex, and was everyone's dentist. I used to babysit for his cousins' kids... she sent him into the little store that I worked in on Thanksgiving Day and told him to say hello to me... I was in high school, and they were 'big' then, so I was surprised, to say the least!

Hi All,

Just hanging here. I have a brutal sinus headache. Thank goodness DH is taking care of bedtime with the boys. I am not long for this evening. That means that I will have to watch the Sopranos on TIVO tomorrow. No way I could stay awake for that.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. That stinks. (And not just because it's Sopranos night!) Spring is a nightmare on my sinuses as well. Almost makes me look forward to rainy days. Hope you're feeling better in the morning!

Do you know which of the hotels are open, my parents were talking about going and love Beau Rivage???

There are 3 casinos open at the moment; the Isle of Capri, Imperial Palace (IP, as it now wants to be known), and the Palace Casino. You can go to biloxione dot com to keep up with the latest. Beau is set to re-open mid to late 2006. They are taking their management people back at work beginning of June. (BF's DH is in management)

Thank you so much! One other question. We will be on the dining plan. Is there a good on site restaurant? If so, is it something we can just walk up to, or does it need ADRs? I hate ADRs because I do not plan like that. We kinda just go where the wind takes us. :teleport:
Yes Olivia's is close to General Store and the check in. you can usually just walk up and get in there. We do sometimes or take a boat to Downtown and wonder around there. Also you jump in car and just drive next door to Port Orleans. We do this sometimes too just for something lighter and different for kids everybody can pick there own. You can order Pizza delivered to OKW from here as we don't have room service.

Hi guys! We're home now too. Had a great time, excellent food, outstanding service....but I didn't win. Anything. Oh well.

I'm ready to cruise now. The toilets in our room flushed with the same force as the ones on the ship, so I was reminded of cruising every time. :teeth: I just wish I could have a room on the ship as nice as the suite they gave us at the Bellagio. Amazing.

Anyway...I had way too little sleep and am going to bed. Yes, it's only 5 pm here.

Hope to catch up and chat tomorrow.

And a U-T.O.P. ! I guess I'm lucky at something...however meager it may be............

Welcome home, glad you had a good time. You have plenty to catch up on and 19 posts to post for each day you were away!!! :lmao:

So since everyone has been in a chatty mood lately I thought I would throw out a cruise related question.

Part of the DIS navigator is going to be a calendar with what ports we'll be in etc. Right now we only have the DIS meet planned for Saturday at 3pm. If there is any other planned event the group wants to have now would be the time to decide it so that we could include it in the calendar.

I know at one time we talked about doing a group photo in the atrium like we did on the 10 day. Do we still want to do that? Anyone up for organizing it and picking a day?

Any other group event?

Let the planning begin. Deadline would be the same as for the buttons - May 7th.
Well, we talked about a book exchange. Would that be done at the beginning of the cruise, or toward the end of the cruise, or throughout the cruise. I think that everyone would be bringing 'new' reading material with them? Any ideas on that one? Ds and I like the idea of a group photo, too.

THe one in Orlando used to be called Belz outlets, but tey have recently changed the name to Prime 1. It is on International Drive, very near universal.

IApparently, if you take cheap vodka and run it through a Brita filter, it comes out tasting like Grey Goose.
--Samantha

But the true test is, does it give you that 'cheap vodka' headache the next morning????

I won't take the chance... no cheap vodka since my college days! (When it was best mixed with a gallon of that green convenience-store juice and a 2 liter of sprite... BUG JUICE... ICK... I shudder just to think about it now!)

My opinion - exchanging throughout the cruise - as we finish with one - trade off for another...

It's only taken an hour and a half to catch up...

Good day at the beach yesterday, but then again, so is every other day at the beach... somehow, I can't manage to get there for breakfast like Jim does... maybe because by the time the sun is that high in the sky, I'm dropping Christopher off at school and headed in the opposite direction for the 23 mile drive to work... and maybe because I sleep in til the last possible second!!

Epcot was EMPTY today... spent most of the day there, then headed over to MK.... which was :crowded: :crowded: :crowded: :crowded: :crowded: :crowded: :crowded: :crowded: ... we didn't stay long. We were all too tired and cranky to put up with it. Had a great dinner at Bahama Breeze, and headed home to let the dog out.

She'll be at the kennel during the cruise... her first time at this one (recommended by Scuba...)... she was a racing greyhound, so she was raised in MUCH worse conditions... I hate having to kennel her, but last time we left her with Ray's dad, she ate the chair, the wastebasket, and a cardboard box of paperwork. (and she NEVER chews anything!!!) Needless to say, she's not welcome at his house any more.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAMANTHA!!!!!!!!!

John said I could volunteer him to take care of the group photo...

O.K. He's making me clarify - He'll push the button for the group photo... :teeth:

I will have to drive down at get some pics for you, but all the actual casinos were heavily damaged to the point that almost all had to be completely torn down. The way that those three have re-opened deals with the fact that our state lawmakers changed from allowing only being water-based casinos to allowing land-based casinos in certain areas. So, many hotels survived with maybe the first 3 or so floors needing to be re-done. Those three have the casino is areas of their old hotels. This will totally change things around here because they will no longer be building casinos on barges. I feel so bad for the Hard Rock Casino; they had just finished and were set to open the week Katrina hit. Total loss.

Okay, yet another spirit I need to go find. I haven't had any luck finding the Banfi yet. I love rum drinks; but it seems like all the rums that I have are either Captain Morgan's, Cruzan, or Bacardi. Mostly clear rums, and several flavored. No Black Seal.

It's Gosling's Black Seal rum, from Bermuda... but pretty readily available in the US... get the regular and NOT the 151...
