I try and get a swimmer's shampoo and conditioner at Walmart early (before it sells out!) in the season and I tend to use it more for washing swimsuits than hair b/c it is so gentle on the suits. :sunny:

Why not just take a shower with your swimsuit??? :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Speaking from years of experience and hundreds of swimsuits later - repeated washing with detergent will break down swimsuits faster and always manage to cause very thin spots in certain backside areas... water is best with an occasional very mild detergent wash like woolite or a specific swimsuit wash...(usually mail order from swimsuit companies like speedo, etc...)

One week on a cruise won't make a difference, though...I throw in travel sizes for washing underwear, if needed - especially traveling with kids...

Thanks for the warning Monica. For as littles as we wear our suits (the cruise is usually it for the whole year) I don't think it will be bad. I just like to wash them out after a day at the pool or on CC.

Oooh, that would take him a really long time...only thing is it's in town and we live 8 miles out of town.

We don't rake, no need when you're surrounded by open fields and have those nice country 'breezes'. We don't weed, either, with 3 acres. Hmmm, might take him awhile to weed 3 acres. Now cleaning the bathrooms might be good as would scrubbing the floor. He likes mowing the yard too much, but picking up all of those branches from the yard should take awhile. He already cleans the litter box, or at least is supposed to clean it. The henhouse really needs cleaning. I think that will be on the top of his list followed by bathrooms.

I was thinking the same thing, because we don't really have any outside area to tend to either, and the boys think it's a treat to be outside. My thought was to give him "girl" chores.

WARNING...I'm cranky today. But I have a vent.

I've glanced at the posts on the main boards, and now suddenly people are saying that once they have "thought it out" the Med cruises are really expensive, with airfare, excursions, etc.

DUH! My gripe is....Why didn't they all think about that before answering Disney's polls about where we wanted to see them take the Magic????

We could have been going to Hawaii. Bone heads.

Have to help Sandi and Irene complete their 70s (and early 80s) American Pop Culture Experience...

Blues Brothers???
Saturday Night Fever???
Private Benjamin?? (not as good as stripes - but, still funny...)

Help Irene FIND her pop culture experience....amd I missing something else.....you guys are too fast for me this week.

Stacey -- I agree with you. I think sending the Magic to the Med is crazy. It is great if you want to spend that money, but the average family just can't afford it.

Doing dishes, dusting, cleaning toilets......or how about everything other than sitting on the couch with the remote control.

Told ya I was cranky.

Our new cockatiel turned out to be more expensive than I was expecting. She was sitting on my shoulder yesterday and pulled the diamond out of my earring. I'm guessing that she ate it, since we can't find it anywhere in the carpet. I told DH that I have something he and DS can get me for Mother's Day, now. Maybe I can find a good deal on some new ones in Coz. Anyone know about that?

Remember - what goes into the birds, must come out of the bird....search those dropping :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Cruise related, and then I have to go:

Late dinner seating update:

Everyone who has sent me their name and reservation number is now included in the late seating group.
We should be all taken care of as far as that goes.

We will have APL rotation

We will have at least 3 different sets of servers....big group!

We don't have a guarantee as to where our tables will be. We have a request in for a certain location, but no guarantee on that one.

I know someone asked a while back about the size of the tables. Normally, the largest size is a table for 8. Yes, we've seen them put together a large, long table in the middle of the dining room....one that appears to hold perhaps 12 or more people. This was not offered to us as an option. I don't know why...I think we're special enough, but apparently they don't. :guilty:

T.O.P. !

Since the weather is getting nice for everyone ...

Barbeque
After the long months of cold and winter, we will soon be coming up to summer and BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking as it's the only type of cooking a real man will do, probably because there is an element of danger involved. When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

Routine...

1) The woman buys the food.

2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.

3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man

who is lounging beside the grill * beer in hand.

Here comes the important part:

4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

More routine....

5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.

6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation.

Important again:

7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

More routine.....

8) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces and brings them to the table.

9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:
10) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off." And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women....

Sorry Stacey! The Med was never an answer on my form, I picked New England/Canada, Bermuda and the Panama Canal. Didn't think of Hawaii, I will add it next time.

Nope, both kids already dust, vaccuum, and clean their own bathroom (every so often)...Not girlie chores around here - especially the kids' bathroom  Mike empties the dishwasher, too... Both kids love washing dishes and the counters - they think it's great fun - because then they get to mop the kitchen floor when they're done from all the water everywhere...Then because there is so much water on the floor - they get to "skate" on towels to dry it... (now if cleaning their rooms would be so much fun...)

Mike's future wife will love me for it...Heaven help the man Maggie marries if he was raised in a man's chores/girl's chores household- she sees her dad cooking and cleaning - she doesn't know there is a gender division of chores...Her husband will be in for a rude awakening!!!

edited to add: John grew up in a gender divisional household - very June Cleaver - down to the toys all picked up, everyone bathed and clean clothes so that when dad comes home, supper is on the table and everything ship shape....His father is very proud of the fact he has never changed a diaper - including his grandkids...

Got this message from my sister who follows the Steelers

"mine is the terrible towel--YOURS is the crying towel"

Wonder what she will say when I tell her I'm NOT watching Nick and Emmy any more :scared: :faint:

Actually it is pretty funny, wait til CodyJ's Ravens start to win.

I've FINALLY had a quiet day at work this week. It's almost 4:00. Think I'll head out for the weekend before my phone starts ringing. Isn't that how it always happens? Just as you're ready to head out, the phone rings & you wind up there for 30 more minutes.

Hope everyone has a great ending to their Friday. Tonight is the last night that my parents will be here so we'll be heading out to dinner tonight.
