I know someon who had Guillain Barre, got it after getting a flu shot, he is all better now took a while to recover...
That's why DH refuses to get a flu shot, ever. He's so afraid that he'll get Gullain Barre.

DS has spring break next week, but just Thursday, Friday and Monday. DH is taking his remaining vacation days (vacation year goes from May 1 - April 30) then, too, and I'm off work on those days. Our younger DD is coming to visit from KY, though, so we won't be going anywhere other than crazy. I'm hoping the weather will be nice so we can start tearing apart what's left of the barn.

Caleb is going to church camp for the 4th time. He's going to horse camp this year, and maybe we'll sign him up for another week that will take the Amtrak to Chicago for a day. My bet is that he doesn't take very long showers, if at all, even at horse camp  :crazy2: .

Maggie's excited not only to go to her 1st sleepover camp and it's Horse camp! I'm rather proud of her (and a bit aprehensive - my baby's going camp, thankfully, no lake just a pool - I would have really grilled the staff over their lake guard training....) - she's the only girl going from her troop - She's rather determined young lady when it comes to horses...

The counselors solved the girls and showers problem - one of their fun activities is a shampoo party... One afternoon, the girls will put on their swim suits, grab their shower stuff and the couselors will spray them down and they'll have fun with shampoo, colored soap, and other clean fun....

You really have to see Stripes if you Like Bill Murray, it is hilarious, Cocktail is a good movie, Jerry Maguire good sports oriented (football) movie and A few Good men, Jack Nicholson, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon and Tom Cruise, excellent Drama, and I don't think I have seen a BAD Jack Nicholson movie

Irene! You've never seen STRIPES?? Oh, you HAVE to see that movie. Too funny!!!

I had never heard of the movie until my first 'real' job about 17 years ago. One of my co-workers started singing 'Sandra Dee' and was shocked that I had never heard it. Of course I had to go rent the movie to see what it was all about. I was living in Germany when it first came out. I missed out on a lot of the American culture during those years. I hadn't even heard of Star Wars until the 2nd movie came out and a friend invited us to go see it.

Just finished watching from Netflix...a "Welcome Back Kotter" Best of disc. The episodes were so corny - but, I still love them...John Travolta looks soooo young... Even after 30 years, Arnold Horshack is still my favorite character over Vinnie...

Don't know if you guys saw this on the main cruise forum, but WalMart has some excellent travel size items. Stopped there this morning and got a small size of the Downy Wrinkle Release and some single packets of Tide for use in the sink. Thought these would be great for swimsuits.

DS came home from school yesterday crying. He is crossing guard for the week and was horsing around hitting rocks with the crossing guard sign and broke the sign. He has to pay the $15 to replace it. So, parents, any ideas on some things for him to do to work it off here at home?

Have to help Sandi and Irene complete their 70s (and early 80s) American Pop Culture Experience...

Blues Brothers???
Saturday Night Fever???
Private Benjamin?? (not as good as stripes - but, still funny...)

Thanks, Mary. I have to make a WalMart run today and have some cruise-related stuff on my list already. I'll just add to them.

OH NO!!!!!!!! Just looked at the NFL schedule and my favorite team, Carolina Panthers, will play the Baltimore Ravens, CodyJ's fav team. And if that is not a strain on the family relations, then the Panthers play the Steelers (another sister likes them)!

Speaking from years of experience and hundreds of swimsuits later - repeated washing with detergent will break down swimsuits faster and always manage to cause very thin spots in certain backside areas... water is best with an occasional very mild detergent wash like woolite or a specific swimsuit wash...(usually mail order from swimsuit companies like speedo, etc...)

One week on a cruise won't make a difference, though...I throw in travel sizes for washing underwear, if needed - especially traveling with kids...

I take it you don't know any I-talian people. Or maybe they don't talk like dat? I guess you have to be around family to hear that kind of language.

Don't tell anybody where you learned it, OK? I don't want to be responsible for carupting someone's mind.

I
And one that I just watched yesterday:
'It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas and half a pack of cigarettes. It's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it.'
'We're on a mission from God.'
That would be the "Blues Brothers"

Do you want a "wish sandwich"???
