I wasn't going to mention this, but I keep laughing about it....so I have to. I hope I don't hurt anyone's feelings here...but...

Did you guys see the post on the Main cruise boards where someone asked if there were bath towels in the staterooms??? No. There aren't any sheets, either...you have to bring them yourself.

Do we need to bring our own food too.......I see you guys are all bringing drinks!!!!!

Actually, if most of the retirees are like my parents, they go somewhere every day.

Monday: Buy 2 bananas and toilet paper

Tuesday: Buy milk and put gas in the car

Wednesday: Buy bread and hit the senior happy hour at Applebee's

Thursday: Buy 2 bananas and juice

Friday: Buy yogurt and cereal

Saturday: Go to Home Depot and buy lightbulbs

Sunday: Go back to Home Depot to exchange the wrong lightbulbs

So thats what we have to look forward too and don't forget dinner at 4pm!!!

Well, I'd really like to book a fall cruise in 2007, but I'm not allowed. Only one Mom trip per lifetime I guess. We've only got three more years to worry about the kid's school schedule (unless she never leaves us), so that's not so bad.

Any thoughts on where DCL will be cruising in Summer'08? Maybe Alaska, Hawaii?

I dropped DD and friend at the mall and then took DS for lunch and to do some errands, then hours catching up here!!!

Also thinking of doing a couple of days at WDW during free dining week.

But yes, your "little" family will most likely be at your own table, surrounded by the rest of us. We have, at last count, NINE tables! The largest table is a table for eight....so there really is no "big" table.......

The largest table that we have? Or the lagest that DCL offers? Because in 2003 we were seated at what all the servers called the BIG table, we were 7, and we were seated with a single mom and her son, and carole88 from this DIS and her DH and 2 dd's and I think there were still 2 seats left. It was a big oval table almost in the center of each dining room...

Nope haven't heard from any of the early people. I did notice the first timers posting the other day on the med threads and they have taken this cruise out of thier signature so I'm thinking they aren't coming. Thanks for the reminder. I need to put the deadlines up again.

Not a good solid idea at the moment, outside of us regular posters to the thread. There's a plan to drop notes on the ones we arn't sure about before button production begins.

Hey guys!

Well, we made it to DC!!
What a CRAZY night!!!

Our plan was to stop in Charleston, WV, but all the rooms in the inn were full. So we kept going. And we stopped in ?Bluefield? and all the rooms in the inn were full. We stopped somewhere else...you guessed it. All full. I think that WV was having some sort of sale on hotel rooms or something. Seriously, every hotel we stopped at (that looked like it wouldn't have bugs crawling on you when you slept) were FULL.

We travelled until 4:30 in the morning!!! FINALLY we found a Holiday Inn Express in Waynesboro, VA that had ONE room left. A suite. A suite that we could have until 11:00am!

So we walked in, crashed, and got up in time to grab some complimentary breakfast and headed out to Monticello. (granted now that we drove that long it was only about a 40 minute trip!) Now THAT was a really neat place! Even the kids were fascinated with everything. And, to top it off it was a beautiful sunny day.

Then we braved DC rush hour (5:00 on a SATURDAY?) and got settled into the Hampton Inn here in Alexandria. We are beat. Kids are going to swim and we're going to crash. Tomorrow is Arlington National Cemetary.

Didn't know the hotel had free high speed internet access in the room, so therefore didn't bring the laptop.... so won't be checking in to often (and DEFINITELY not going to be able to keep up) but I'll pop my head in periodically and say Hi!!!!

Ok, gonna run and join Mike and the kids in the pool. Have fun.
