At the top of each post is a time log to tell you when it was posted... It really is 5 o'clock somewhere

Our town lost 2 of its schools and several churches. (one was my children's schools and church.) Very tough. But we are a resilient group. We had a new school location and were up and going by October 3. Not bad. Plus, we managed to take in students from 2 other schools. One side effect was since we did such a great job, the superintendent has decided to keep us together and rebuild in a different location for both schools to stay combined!

My 3rd utop in a row! I deserve a prize!

On the coast/beach-- hence the name "Long Beach". (ewhh, please don't take that the wrong way; i'm tired and I thought that would sound funnier than it actually does.) We are between Pass Christian and Gulfport/Biloxi. 1 hr from New Orleans and 1 hr from Mobile. Pretty great place, especially pre-Katrina.

Not to worry... You have to try really hard to offend me... again with the short attention span!

We had several friends lose beach houses and vacation homes... Our church is still hosting families now... Such an eye opener! We don't complain about alot around here anymore. So many people having real problems!!

I just realized that we passed the micro-mini milestone. Might need to call it a night. Eyes are starting to close on their own and not open back up!

That's how I feel. Our home made it okay, but several of our friends' homes didn't. What a nightmare. Insurance companies denying coverage due to ..whatever. But, there is a lot of hope and good feelings around here. Everyday there is something to smile about.
