Me: That is kind of how they say introduce them selfs to each other, like a handshake
Followed by long back/forth on forms of communication other than speaking.

DD and I saw The Shaggy Dog movie yesterday. It is a cute light comedy. However, DD is into asking LOTS of questions. Sometimes, I just cant figure out the best way to answer. So here is an example of our conversation in the car on the way home from the movie.

I don't know the games, either. Played Phase 10 when it first came out years ago, but couldn't tell you anything about it, now. Same with euchre; been decades since I've played. Is that the one with left and right bower?BWVPam said:Morning all. BOy I feel like a dummy, I don't know any of the games you all were talking about! You all were busy last night after I went to bed.

MarkRG said:I use them for work. And hooboy do I have the work this weekend! One of the main utilities a laundry/drycleaner needs is compressed air. And for a place on the scale of the one I'm engineer at, http://www.zengelercleaners.com , it's a big deal. And because we run 6 days a week, My only window to replace any vital equipment is Saturday afternoon/Sunday. So I have to deal with things like this:
This is the old setup. To give you a sense of scale, the air compressor on the left is a little under 3 ft tall. it draws almost as much power as an average house to run. We used to have two of those, but the one on the right(behind the green beam) is a temporary replacement for one that catastropically destroyed itself.
The same room as of last night about 9pm. I've removed the temporary one, washed the room down a bit and reinstalled the one that used to be on the left into the spot on the right. That thing has to be at least twice or three times my weight too so it's not easy to move around either.
Now this is what's getting installed today. The ones pictured before make an inordinate amount of noise when they're running, this model will run quiet enough that people will be able to hold a normal conversation standing right next to it. Which is good because that doorway on the left is my office/workshop, which is right next to where the air compressors are. This little bugger runs a little over $10k, and does draw more power than the average house (125 amps), so I have to run new electric to power it besides just making the connections to what's there.
The above is why I tell people one of the main focuses for a vacation for me is to rest and heal. I mean that literally, to a point. It's a rough job sometimes.
ohiominnie said:If you figure out how to do that, could you please let me know. I have two of the biggest pack rats on the face of this earth!
ohiominnie said:Well, just do what the guy who lived across the street from us did. He painted his living room but painted AROUND everything. Then he moved out and a new single mom with a premie moved in. And there was the room. Painted tan except where the entertainment center, couch, recliner and bookcase had been. In all of those places it was bright contractor paint white!
Poor thing...had a new premie. Mom herself had almost died before/during birth (she was in a coma for a week then they took the baby C-section) She came out of the coma a couple weeks later. In the meantime her parents had moved her into this new house.![]()
Course, this poor painting neighbor was also the one who hung a ceiling fan in the living room right into the ceiling....not into any joists or whatever. So the thing fell about 8 months after this new mom moved in.
Oh the neighbor stories we could tell!!!!

Reading last night's posts about the DHs that are, well, different than us social beings were like looking in a mirror. Jim got a really funny look on his face yesterday when I told him about finding this group, like, "Oh, geez, what is she doing now?" And when I showed him the fish extender, he totally didn't get it. (But it did think the write on board is a good idea - progress!). But I know once we get there, he'll be fine and get into it.
Erin, on the other hand, wants to know if I've found her any friends yet. What a cutie...
So enjoy your Sundays, all! I'm off to do MORE laundry!
