As usual, I'm checking in after everyone has left. Sorry to interrupt the Tooth Fairy chatter!

Hint...Do NOT let your children take teeth to Disney or on DCL.

KT lost a tooth. Put it under her pillow. Got $1 from the tooth fairy.

Then, she had another loose tooth. It was the night before we were leaving for Disney. I had done laundry all day. Because of my load demand meter, my hot water tank would not recharge, so when I plunked the kids in the tub to get them cleaned up for the trip, the water was chilly. So I hurried. Well, the washcloth snagged on KT's loose tooth and pulled it out. Blood everywhere (looks like more in the water than it really is)

So we decided, in an effort to calm her down, that we'd say "hey, let's take your tooth to Disney tomorrow and see if the tooth fairy goes there!"

She doesn't go to Disney.....must be Reedy Creek regulations or someting. TINKERBELL does the honors at Disney. And TINKERBELL leaves a $5 Disney dollar....not an old crumpled up US $1 bill.

From that point on the kids have always "saved" their teeth for a Disney trip. Now though, Tinkerbell doesn't leave Disney dollars. She leaves the receipt showing that $5 was added to their Mickey gift card.

(sigh)

For those Janet Evanovich 'Stephanie Plum' fans, Twelve Sharp is due out on June 20. I was hoping it would be before the cruise. Now I'll have to find another light read to take along.

You viewed that as a political comment somehow? Wasn't meant as one, just information. I was a field service tech for the industry for over 10 years, and have seen it all. And yes they have good solid rules for them up here too. But people still fudge them and try to get away with things. Here's a good example.

I get a service call for a machine that's not drying the clothes right. Arrive there to discover they have a machine they're still operating that has been long outlawed. I inform them that I won't be repairing it, and why, as the place I work for could also be liable for fines, and sure they're not happy but accept it. About a week later in the shop, I overhear that this same customer is getting delivered a new laundry dryer. I immediately stop the delivery and yep, find out this place was going to use it to dry clothes cleaned in the machine I wouldn't fix last week. As in, it would be blowing all the vaporized solvent from the clothes out into the air! Hazmat scene for sure if that would have happened.

I'm all for dry cleaners being responsible to the environment. All I was saying is the ones that are really overpromoting the 'greener' stuff saying they don't use any hazardous chemicals are using some of these new, experimental processes, which some do use water (as OhioKaren said, so much for 'dry') and as such are experimenting on your clothes. And designer items will take damage from these processes as a lot are zero tolerant of water.

If you really want the long boring review of all the current cleaning processes, I could go there but don't want to bore the heck out of eveyone, probably doing that already.

The short answer is the ones that are truly environmentally safe cleaning processes are with co2 or petroleum. Perc is a risk if misused. However, the modern cleaning machines are of a type now that the risk of any kind of environmental impact is very much zero with any solvent if the machine is operated and maintained correctly.

Thanks for the update - interesting....

and the political comment was mine, not yours. My comment is that many industries are more responsible that the average consumer who complains that the industries are not responsible......
Back to the toth fairy now...

WOW. Great job!! I just went back to try it (b/c I'm putting off my blood draw) and got to 23.57! Seemed like those blue blocks got faster and faster. Maybe it was just my imagination. The hard part is my eyes dry out b/c I can't blink. If I blink, I hit something. :)

Ok, really, off to get ready for the day. Blech.

Didn't you mean BELCH :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

OM - You're good. I'm not even going to post MY avg. error. I better get back to school. I'm learning geography from my 4th grader. Actually, I'll have him do this test later when they get home from school. Good one. Thanks for making me dumber than I already am....my DH does that when we watch Jeopardy.

Betcha I could fit Florida -- not sure about Texas?????

All this tooth fairy talk has me thinking.

Is there a "hair loss fairy"?????

I've got some compensation coming......... :lmao:

ARGH! What a waste of my time...

I try to be a good ebay seller. I try to OVER describe my things so that someone knows EXACTLY what they are bidding on....

So someone looks at this auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7015465476&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

And then messages me and says "I want to buy this from you, can you tell me what is included?" and "I don't see the teacher's guide in the pictures. Is that included?"

Ok, #1, I have listed out in painstaking detail what IS included in the kit.
And, B, I have noted at the bottom that this auction does NOT include the teacher's guide! (which, by law is illegal to sell even if I DID have it....even though everyone else sells theirs on ebay!)

GRRRR.....Maybe SHE needs the phonics set for herself to teach herself how to read an ebay auction!!! (sigh)

Maybe because it was "K12 Kdg Language Arts Standard Materials Nearly Complet"

she wasn't sure.........

Just learned an addendum to Virgil's thing...

It'll work for PM's too... :woohoo:

Guess what? It doesn't just work on the DIS. On any webpage you are on, if there is a link that you want to check out, but don't want to lose your place, do the same thing and open it in a new window. Which is exactly why most times I have 6 or 7 open windows in my task bar!! :) :lmao:

Ang - My little guy, Anthony(6) STILL hasn't lost a tooth yet. I think the one on top is a little loose. How old is Emily? Better get a phone call into the "tooth fairy" and keep her posted. Good luck with the loose tooth.

My two younger kids were very slow at losing their teeth...but they were also slow at getting them in the first place. The dentist tells me that getting baby teeth and then adult teeth later is a good thing. Must be, they've not had cavities.

Megan, on the other hand....the second one was loose, she'd yank it out. Wanted the money, I guess.

I'm talking about the mouthguard. :rotfl: If Nick is a ''true" man, he will say Large. We all do! :lmao:

Sounds to me like she was just too lazy to read it. Kinda scary to think she may be homeschooling her kids!
But wait....did she ask to see your kids MODEL the books??? :teeth:

I'm glad I don't sell stuff on ebay...it's getting weird. Very weird!

Anybody into "March Madness"? We're big Syracuse fans here. Actually got to see Carmelo Anthony play at Syracuse. My BIL is a Director at Syracuse.

Who are you picking to win? Let's see who can go the farthest!!
Maria,

All I have to say is GO DUKE! March Madness, the most wonderful time of year. Let the games begin.
