I can never figure out why people who live where its warm would want to ski???? I enjoyed skiing (occasionally) when I lived in CT & NH, but wouldn't DREAM of leaving FL to SKI!!!!!! Brrrrrr!!!!

I'm with you on the skiing but DH wants to take the kids to see what it's like, I hink he is crazy to want to learn to ski at our age!! :rotfl2:

Hey -- I got her to ski -- not too sure about getting her to dive (She likes to know what is swimming in the pool with her)

I like my 4 walls and a bottom!

Yeah, and remember my 1st trip down the mountain - a personal motorized escort by the ski patrol...

My sister claims her bones are too old to heal nicely if she breaks them and I'm not much younger so we are going to stick with this story.

Ok, I finally got all the stuff for the Dole Whips, well I might of improvised a bit. I couldnt find cans of crushed pineapple so I got fresh chunks. I can crush them up but what consitutes crushing? Just mash them or put them in the blender? Then there was the hunt for cherries. I could not find any cherries in produce (are they not "in season"?) so found some in a jar. By now you have figured out that I dont do much of the cooking:). This is going to be fun.

wow. crazy day. we ran a lot of errands after mike got home from work. picked up my glasses. wow. wow. i've had to take motrin twice. i'm about ready for bonine. i've been wearing contacts for years (except in the late evenings i wear my old, huge, outdated glasses) now i have little glasses and honestly i'm having trouble adjusting.

funny guy!

anyway....when i look down i can't see anything. like now, i can see the screen (very well) but if i shift my eyes down (without tilting my head down) everything is a total blur. i couldn't hardly see to eat my dinner tonight b/c i had to tip my head (what seems like to me) WAY far down to see my plate.

tell me i'll get used to this. everything is so annoying. i feel like i need bifocals b/c when i look down i can't see....but it's only b/c when i look down (with my eyes only) i'm not focusing through my glasses. i'm SOOOO used to contacts where i could shift my eyes all around my head and still see (albeit with bad acuity)

HELP MRS. SCUBA!!!!

btw, stopped at sam's. found the rolling coolers. wasn't sure how much wine it would hold so wheeled it over to the wine dept. we figure fully opened and full of wine it would never pass as a carry on (no way would fit under a seat or in the overhead bin) BUT....we were able to get 7 bottles in and still have it close using the flap instead of the zipper. Good enough for us. Plus the special bottle Mr. Scuba is having bottled.

BUT...if we wanted to, we could swing by a store after our flight lands and buy about 5 or 6 more bottles and it'd be no problem getting that on the ship.

HOPEFULLY I can lift the thing over my head into the overhead bin with all that wine in it ;)

I'm not Mrs. Scuba, and probably not the best help...because....some people never get used to the smaller glasses...or bi-focals. I've worn the small glasses and had bifocals since Day 1, so it doesn't bug me, but Jay never has gotten used to his smaller glasses. He wears them when we go out, because I make him wear them, but the rest of the time he wears his big, old ones.
I personally think that, given time, you will get used to them. Yes, it involves a lot of head movement, but you'll get it.

oh. that's not 100% comforting.

moving my head this much is making me dizzy.
can i count this as exercise? :lmao:

You will get used to it, honest. Just take it slow. In other words, slow down as you eat, read, DIS....make your movements concious and slooooower. You'll also find that starting to wear new glasses in the middle of the day, or early evening, is harder. When you get up and put them on in the morning, it won't seem so bad.

You may also find that when you're driving, and you need to change lanes or you're backing up, you may have to look over your shoulder, and close the "opposite" eye to see clearly.
Try it....look over your left shoulder with both eyes open. Now close your right eye. Can you tell a difference? If I leave both eyes open, I tend to see too much of the frames of my glasses, and it's better with the one eye shut.

It's heck getting old.
