Next week is Dad's 70th birthday. We have a surprise party planned for him and it should be alot of fun (I'm bringing a case of Banfi!). That is when we will tell him and Mom about their birthday/anniversary/christmas present. We booked a room for them with us on the Holiday Cruise in December. It would be wonderful for them to be with us. My only question is if they will actually go, as it means being away from the rest of the family during Christmas.

I will let you know next week.

My parents came with us on the 10 day Christmas cruise in 2004. That was one of my fears....that they would feel like they were "playing favorites" by being with me and not the rest of the family. We were in St. Thomas Christmas day and I think they did find a phone and quickly called the siblings (who were all off enjoying Christmas with their other families and enjoying not having to split their time!) Then the family celebrated Christmas all together after everyone got home.

I've got to go back and look at the card that came with the chocolate....I think the back of it had the disappearing ink invitation to the Banfi...I mean to the PARTY. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh, Jeri - what a sweet thing to do!! I hope your Mom & Dad will go. :goodvibes

The past several years my family has become more accepting of not having to all be together on the actual *day* - we still get everyone together for a celebration - it just might be a week before; 2 days after...... :teeth:

Ours this year was January 28th. Seriously.
But that was partly because some people in the family were being poopy. :(

My parents STILL have no idea what that Christmas cruise cost. My mom "tried" to pay me back....she said she'd send checks until I told her to stop. Two checks later, I told her to stop. They paid about 1/4 of it. They'd DIE if they knew how much that cruise cost. But MAN, was it FUN! And St. Lucia.....St. Lucia...

Well...let's say this....I saw a patio furniture set for sale at Kroger....The name of the set was "St. Lucia." I told Mike I almost bought it just for the name!! But I couldn't b/c it's pretty lightweight and everything light weight in the yard ends up at the bottom of the pool on a windy day. Even our outdoor cat is about 18 pounds. If he slimmed down at all he'd have to learn how to swim!

unexpected TOP with Laura, my parents, my poopy siblings, Mike and my overweight cat! :) :cat:

My experience is that the PremEAR the show at midnight on the day it hits the land based theaters. Never have heard of a preview. :(

I know, I know... just hoping... it doesn't open officially til 6/9. If nothing else, it will give us something fun to do on the weekend AFTER the cruise.

Congrats to Stacey and OM! I totally missed that one.

I'm here agonizing over Ebay listings. I have this dress. I bought it because it's PRETTY. It's probably late 70s, but it isn't Boho, Prairie, Prom, Disco, Hawaiian, or any of the other keywords you have to use on Ebay or stuff never gets found.

I'm probably way too late with this...but post a picture, maybe we can help.

Now that I've FINALLY caught up from 2 days of not posting... (darn business trips... who knew that I was only 12 miles from Jeri????) ... its time to get some sleep!!! My parents are heading back to CT at 6AM... I want to make sure that I am awake to see them off.

My MIL gets here tomorrow afternoon- she'll be here for the weekend before she heads to south FL on Monday. I've got to work a golf tourney all day tomorrow... better get some sleep NOW!!!!

Try to keep the chatting to a minimum... I'll be out of the office all day.

Now you've put a dent in my style, I had my wigs and tiara all ready to pack!!

Please...wear them! We need SOME kind of live entertainment at dinner! :rotfl:

I'm going to get a Birthday Button at Disneyland and wear a tiara.....if for no other reason than to embarrass my kids!
Or....maybe I'll buy one of those big hats that's a birthday cake!

I may need it to keep my head warm on this trip!

I'm caught up reading. Just got home. I thought we'd have a fairly quiet night at home, but I had a call from JC Penney that the table and chairs for the apartment were ready to pick up, so I dropped Jordan at dance, Jared at baseball, and headed for town.
They "lost" the guys in the loading dock, so a girl in high heels and I put the stuff in my truck. Now my back is killing me. I'm wondering how big a share of JC Penney I'd own if I sued.
I didn't want to leave it sit there for a week, though.

Anyway...going to plant myself on the couch for a while.

A few times they've run a PremEAR a week early, but that's about it. Still would be a real outside chance thing if they did.

Well, let's sprinkle some pixiedust for the outside chance that they'll show it. How cool would that be???

Oh yes you have....What if I told you that it's in NH?
What if I told you that George Bush made chocolate there once?
What if I told you that the owner, Theresa, is good friends with a fellow blabbermouth?

Sounding familiar?

p.s. don't worry, you and Mark are still celebrity status with me. :) even without chocolate. ;)

:cool1: oh that's great! How did they taste... The chocolate conversation was about 1000 posts ago... :lmao: I even volunteered to be on kitchen clean-up if I got to lick the spoon...

DD is needing some Mommy time now. I made the mistake of letting her sleep the 2 hours drive back from my folks. When we got home she kept on sleeping for another 2 hours. I thought she probably needed it from all the excitement and trip etc. When she woke up, I said let me fix you some dinner. She said you mean breakfast:rotfl: .

Now I need to convince her to go back to sleep. ;)

yeah but, now you need to sweet talk Mark and Mary into sending Frango Mints from Marshall Fields (or whatever the store will be called now...)

Fanny May Mint Meltaways were also my favorite - but, alas - no more Fanny May... :sad2:

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Just about the BEST chocolate I've ever had. Unfortunately we were out of Banfi, but my dad'd homemade Wildberry Shiraz was pretty close. The raspberry ice wine *technically* isn't done yet (even though we had a small bottle the other day) so we couldn't crack into that....although that would have been YUMMMMMMMMMMMY!
