Right! A very "interesting sport"!! :rotfl2:

One of the official US curling team centers is across the street from me at work.

No, I'm not kidding. They were there on Wed night last week very late, I would guess getting in some final practice before flying out or something.

I agree the boarding in that strange half pipe setup is very wierd. Was much better when they did it on an open hill.

You see the utter bravery of that pairs skating team from China? Was very impressed.

Oh Mark, that is so not similar to us. LOL Isn't a way in the world they'd get me in there with stingrays and it wouldn't be the same for them either. Now the dolphins we don't care WHERE we'd end up doing it- but doing stingray instead would just be waste of money... no one in our family is interested in that (and I would veto it right away... I'm not doing that LOL) I was already thinking I'd have to have some long talks with myself to get up the nerve to be around dolphins.. stingrays isn't going to happen. Ever. LOL The closest I have and will ever get to stingrays is barely touching one on the back at Seaworld and that's not IN the water with them. LOL

Yanno?
Shelly,
We did the dolphins in Coz AND the stingrays in GC in 2003 and I can honestly say that the sting rays were almost as good as the dolphins. It was REALLY neat but it took about 20 mins for me to get over the "ACK HES COMING RIGHT AT ME!" factor! LOL Once I got over that fear, it was so neat, but then that left only about 10 mins with them. I would love to do it again.

I got a grouper hickie in Cozumel. Honest.

And I haven't gone to look at this site that you all are making fun of me over. How long do I have to stare at it, before I SEE something?
A Groupie HIckey in Coz??? What band??!?!:rotfl2:

At what age do you decide you want to be an Olympic curler? I can't see some 5 yr old saying "mommy, when I grow up I want to be a curler!!"

Well the guys I saw looked nothing like Olympic athletes. More like couch potatoes. I guess if you can't play ANY other sports, you can curl!

Just watched them. Wow, just wow. So glad they got the Silver.

So, here I am again...the night walker. Well, not walking. I'm in bed but not asleep. I went to bed around 8:00 cause I had a sinus headache that almost made me sick. Anyway, it's 12:50am and I'm awake now. DH is downstairs sleeping in "his chair". He wasn't even home when I went to bed. He was working!!! (somebody's gotta pay for this new house)

dsneyprincess & Kikipug - I don't have too much in the way of excursions either. I know DH and DS want to parasail at CC, but that's about it. I'm with Karen about Coz, I'll take the cab over to Chakannah(?) and play at their beach for the day. My kids are too small to appreciate and stay 4-5 hrs. at the ruins. We would love to do the dolphins, but if they're not there, so be it. I'm just going to go with the flow (not the bathroom flow) on this cruise.

I think I better go and wake up DH and then close my eyes and try to get some sleep. I may be lurking on the main boards for a little bit.

Nite nite....

I'm sure it's enjoyable and didn't mean to diss the stingrays-I'm sure others love them and enjoy this excursion. It's just not the same at all for us. It's the DOLPHINS they want to see... not just the experience of seeing some sea animal and touch them/etc. My daughter is not nicknamed after stingrays nor obsessed with everything stingray.. she is for dolphins. Also I think I might be able to handle the dolphins simply because they seem to be very intelligent, gentle and well atleast they are portrayed as gentle/etc. Stingrays... um, not so much. I don't even like little fish swimming at me when snorkeling... I would totally freak with stingrays. I almost couldn't touch one on the back while in a TANK while I stood on dry ground outside of the tank- at SeaWorld! LOL

The comparison, to us.. would be like someone who loved horses to want to go see horses and instead someone said oh just go see the chickens instead.. you'll enjoy it. So not the same. :rotfl2:

So, buy a nice intermediate size four door with a hitch and a dive trailer. SS insides, auto wash-down feature complete with a fill station with Nitrox!!

I know we talked about that, but I changed my mind.

I want the trailer for the kids. I'll put in a TV, a couple of chairs, and a refrig. That should keep them happy for a couple of hours.

Hi there!
another question please... let's say you skip the character breakfast (for us it would be late on CC day)-- where else can you eat breakfast? Or do you only have the option of eating room service continental breakfast if you want to eat some other breakfast on character breakfast day? I haven't figured out all the meal options obviously. LOL (and continental breakfast is not our idea of breakfast... atleast not the adults- kids could eat cereal and be okay with that... but not us).

Thanks in advance!

BBB - Question - do you have a Passporter yet? You may wish to invest in one so that you have ahandy refernce book. We did for our first cruse and it was a good resource.

The breakfast buffet is open with more than you will know what to chow down on. Including an omlette station, that I always mised 'cause my plate was full up before I made it that far. I don't know if any of the snack areas around the pool are open at that time???

Trust me on the fact that you will NOT go hungry. And room service is alwyas an option.

You will have afrdige n the room, so if you like, you can get milk from the buffet the night before and bring cereal of the first day.....or grab cereal the day before - this way the kids can eat in the room, wihtout waiting for room service. Add some juice and you are good to go!

Coffe - I cannot wake up without coffee - so there is the option of ordering it the night before and it might stay hot, or ordering room service, as your "wake up call", or rushing up to deck 9 (I think) and it is alwyas there.

'scue typing, must have coffee now. Good Mrning.

The stingrays are neat in their own way, and like cute little puppies.....

I am normally an Olympic junkie - but had to crash last night after the weekend trip...Must have been in bed before 9.....no curling (couch or otherwise,) or skating, which I love to watch.

Perhaps today.......

So Mark - do you ever watch curling live?

whew I m glad I am not the only one! LOL We have nothing planned except to play it by ear :cool1:

Speaking of nothing planned.....are we doing a "book exchange" - we mentioned once about --20000 posts ago. If we are, great, if not, there is a stack I can recyle at the book store..... :goodvibes

Stingray city was amazing, I was a bit nervous to go but once I was there I loved it, it is an experience of a lifetime, it sure is different than being at a controlled environment place!!

From what I can piece together, Stingray City is more handson than CC. I think CC takes a teaching approach. The kids from Epcot Ocean Seas are broght over for a 3 month stint.

Good morning cruisers!

Dh had to convince me to TRY a cruise....
I said the ONLY way I'd try it was if it was Disney....and even then I was NOT excited about it at all....
#1, I get motion sick in the passenger seat of a car, on amusement park rides, watching certain Playstation games, in any sized boat, etc etc. On my dad's boat my strategy was to take Dramamine....which put me to sleep....and then I'd get a horrible sunburn!
#2, I HATE HATE HATE....salt water and I HATE HATE HATE sand.
#3, I am not a big drinker, partyer, gambler, dancer, etc (which my sister IS and she LOVES cruises....so I figured anything she liked would SO not fit me)
#4, I HATE getting dressed up (a requirement for dinner)
#5, I did NOT want to give up a WDW vacation for a cruise......our first cruise was a 4 day.....with 9 days at WDW afterwards. As we left the ship we were ALL crying. We did NOT want to get off. My dd (8 at the time) said if DCL would let her stay on the ship for just FOUR more days, she'd be willing to give up her NINE days at WDW!!!

Since May of 2003 we've been on....a 4 day, a 3 day, a 4 day, a 7 day, a 10 day, a 4 day, a 7 day, and this will be a 7 day! Uh....I think we're hooked! :)

Just a thought - you came after the threads on MY motion sickness....I missed formal night as we were in 14 foo seas and passed through the outskirts of Gamma.....many of the crew were green...So, come prepared. I am still not sure what seasick medicine I will bring. The bands did not work, the electric wrist bands did not work, ginger did not work, oil of something behind my neck did not work.....This time, DRUGS.

Disney CC does not have salt water and nasty sand....They have a family beach, chairs, warm breezes and memories.

Well, wine does not count as drinking, It is part of a heathy heart!
