I hear you talking about your tweens. DS was lamenting that he thinks he'll never get married because 'everyone' in his class (5th grade) has a girlfriend except for him. He went from private school k-2 to public school 3rd - now and got teased a lot in 3rd and 4th grade. 5th grade has been good, though, so far. He's not an athletic type, and we are in a small town sports-is-all-powerful mentality. He knows that he'll never be one of the 'cool' kids. He's liking band, though, and is starting to practice for his first solo contest next month.

Diana - I loved Grey's Anatomy tonight. Now I just have to wait a week to see the end of that one. I love that show:thumbsup2

Grey's Anatomy... another show I never miss. Of course now they are going to leave us hanging for a week, with Mer's hand on the unexploded shell inside the guys gut, and Bailey's husband's brain exposed on the table.... arrrrghhhh!!!!!

I've heard so many good things about this show. It's one that I've never watched, and hate to start watching without out being able to 'catch-up'. Will I catch onto everything if I start now?

The actual party starts right after the lifeboat drill. About 4:45. The Magic usually pulls away at 5 pm and by about 5:30 is out of the channel and on its way. We plan on changing for dinner after the drill and before we go up for the party.

That is another reason why we like to do the DIS meet at 3pm. It is quieter so people can hear each other and it isn't as rush as it would be at sailaway. Plus once everyone has met you can certainly hang out together at sailaway.

Hi. My name is Angie & I have an OCD (obsessive-compulsive Disney) problem.

I knew I should have stayed up a few more minutes for Mary to answer my question. I woke up at 2:30 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep because I was thinking about it! I should have gotten up & checked the boards.

For those of you who missed it, they are all on 'the website' (don't want to get the mods mad by posting the site here...bud I'm sure you are wiser and can figure it out)... the 'Streaker' one is actually called "Super Fan".

Personally, I'm partial to the 'other' Clydesdale spot. (I've watched all of these about 100 times this week.)

You're so clever! I'll have to go out to the website this afternoon and check them out.

Depends on the insulation. Most fiberglass batts will stay in place for their lifetime. Cellulose tends to compact and will lose some heat holding capacity as it compacts. The biggest problem most homes have is air infiltration. Under wall plates, around doors and windows and at other penetrations in the "skin" of the home. If there is access to the attic, then an addition of 6"-8" of insulation will help. Don't forget to seal around the doors, windows and other holes....

Is it worth paying someone to come out to your house to tell you where the "leaks" are? Our bedroom is soooo drafty. I'm convinced that there is no insulation in the walls. DH's closet has no windows. You can stand in there on a winter day & feel a cool breeze. Same for the water closet (or whatever you call the little room where the toilet is.)

OHMinnie, we're scheduled to have Scoopie next. We're planning on driving out to town on Thurs., 2/16 so please have him to us by then. Let me know if you need my address again.

It's a very tired day here at my house today. Everyone seems to be working on 1/2 a tank. Stayed up a lot later than usual watching the game and no way the kids were going to bed with a house full of company (some of their friends, too). So, I let them sleep in a little and drove them to school. Poor things. Now it's my turn to wash all the cookie trays, etc. But, I will do so with a smile on my face knowing my team has won the Super Bowl!!!!

WAY TO GO STEELERS!!!
I don't know how much I'll be on the boards today, so have fun. Talk to you guys later.

Good Morning - I know I have lots of posts to catch up on - but before that.....

Superbowl - Good defensive game, well at least the first half.

Favorite Commercial
In the sentimental category - the young Clydesdale......
In the other category - the fed-x prehistoric caveman.

Best beer - Smithwick's - so we were at an irish pub to start the evening.

Best snack - peanuts - strange - but there was this new crop at the store....

And a Top to start the day!!!!!!! :wave2:

Here is a short Cotillion report. I did not break rule number 1.....Don't embarrass Lisa. I did not do that so it was a huge success.

And I did not punch out the little kid that asked her to dance. Another big success.

It was a fine time. It is fun to see all the kids dressed up and acting so proper. We learned a few basic steps so when we go to the ball we won't hurt anyone. We had cookies and punch and all the dads were watching the clock.

She said I was a little loud when I yelled "are you ready for some football" in the parking lot, but hey we were in the parking lot.

What a sweet dad? Will we be seeing pictures....

of Lisa

not the parking lot!!!!!! :rolleyes1

Oh that just broke my heart to read this. :( :( Kids this age shouldn't have to lament about such things and I don't even know your son and I want to hug him and I'm mad at those kids teasing him! So mean!

Kids can be so cruel... :(

HEY SCUBA DIVERS OUT THERE?

Just wanted to mention that it looks like wdwgoose and my DH are going to be diving with Dive Martin since we missed the boat (quite literally LOL) with the group going with xt divers and their boats are full now. Sounds promising - $75 for 3 tank and they are offering 10% off of that for the group and paying cash. ($20 deposit mailed to waco,Tx address on their website)

They also said they'd take us whenever we wanted or when we got there from the cruise/etc.- instead of having to wait for 1pm (or later) dive if we can't make it at 7:30am first boat departure... that sounds cool to me!

Anyone else want to join us? Up to 6 together. I think we make 3 total so far? PM me or wdwgoose if interested. :)

I was bored when the game first started, so I was playing with my pictures.

The one that Mary has up now is almost a year old, it was taken on the Mexican Riviera cruise. I guess I could dig out the pictures from the NCL cruise in December....but I doubt if I'd like any of them. I never like any picture that has ME in it.

Now I know for a fact that statement is untrue. You really liked the lifestyle photo that was taken (oh, on some cruise or another).

Beware the DIS

they have looooooong memories...... :smokin:

Oh, if I'm not around for awhile it's because I'm having fun playing with the "giving lip" thing on that "you know who" website that I went to just to see the Clydesdale commercials (cause I love them horsies LOL) ... that is really neat. Check it out!

(ps. I don't think the superbowl commercials are showing there? Or atleast I didn't find them. I didn't see one referred to on the TOP post of this page.. the young clydesdale/sentimental one? don't see it. *pout*)
