We've agreed on a tour for Costa Maya. We've just put our names down for the Mayan Experience tour with Ivan and David at http://www.chacchobenruins.com/

DH was a little leary about having lunch with a family from the village. I told him that we could just watch them prepare it and eat a few things. The experience for DS will be great. I have the tour description that Ivan e-mailed to me if anyone wants more info.

o.k. back to Costa Maya - I'm just a bit paranoid that something will happen and we'll miss the ship...We've never done anything on our own before...

it took us 12 days to log 1000 posts (including the busy server) - I'd say at least another 10000 - possibly more, since we'll be posting quicker around the 90 day mark and as we close in... hmm, should we get a pool going? # of posts by sail-away...

OM, just how long ago did your Mom give you that cross-stitch kit? Maybe she's forgotten about it? And was the kit that sold for so much completed or not? Peanuts gang is pretty collectable these days, and that's a unique item. Very cool, I'd be happy to find one of those!

Let's see....she gave it to me when she gave me the Snoopy stocking kit. I did the stocking, but did some of it during a craft show...I was demondtrating the cross stitch frames my dad makes...so I was distracted and goofed it up. I have a really cool picture of snoopy and woodstock with the charlie brown tree now...

and I had to restart the stocking for my brother.

That must have been 5 yrs ago I'll bet.

That price was JUST the kit. It was not completed! I know if I mention the price to my mom she'll ask for the kit back. And will never do it anyway. I'll just hold onto it for now.

The area at Costa Maya is so small, there is no way that you would not get back on time for the ship.

We strike out on our own all the time, and haven't missed one yet. All of the locals know when the ships leave, and they don't want us there any longer than we already are. Just kidding... I really don't think it would be a problem.

I've read nothing but good things about Ivan & David. A tour with them is going to be great!

We don't take our passports off the ship. I wonder if we're riding on the wild side, doing that??

Well, whatever you do, don't be LATE and make the ship wait for you! ESPECIALLY if my mom is on the ship b/c she will boo you from her verandah for being late. She fully believes there should be a $20,000 fine for being late back to the ship (fine, make a fine, but the question is, how would they EVER collect that?)

The staff captain did tell us it cost something like $10,000 extra to stay in St. Thomas for 30 minutes waiting for stragglers.
