Ok ... who volunteers to take notes for me while I'm gone? Not sure if BIL has internet connection again. If he does, I'll be sure to keep up; but if not, I'll be lost come Mon.

Starting to have the cruise nightmares ... last night dreamed that we had not packed everything we needed ... packed girls dress clothes but forgot the dress shoes, totally forgot any kind of sunscreen, packed my dress shoes but hadn't gotten the cap on the heel fixed, etc. I was AWFUL!

--Thanks to everyone for the prayers. I wish it was something that could be solved quick and I could tell you it was all over... but unfortunately it's probably going to be a long time process... but thank you for your prayers and anytime you happen to think about BBB, that sometimes annoying but always lovable (hehe) chica on Disboards.. spare a prayer for us. Every little prayer helps lots! :) Now the next step is standing up for my little man with the principal tomorrow. I called this conference... she has no idea that the meek mom she's talked to previously is now a Leo mommy with her claws out. I've hit my limit.. I've taken all I can stand, I can't stands no more. LOL
I'll try not to be too hard on her though.. LOL

I am sure mama bear is going to come out and protect her cub. :) Mike, being a pediatrician, deals with school systems ALLLLL the time. It is usually not a very pretty sight. Typically the schools (at least around his practice) like to exert as much power as they can over the parents. Sort of a "we have your kid for 10 hours a day, we know what's best for them" mentality.

This is just one of the reasons we have chosen to homeschool. Well, that and the fact that we can go to WDW on off peak times!

Prayers and PD to you.

We are an Air Force family, and we have lived in Wichita, KS for the past 2 years. Many other places before now. Originally, we are from the East Coast. I'm a Clemson grad and DH is a UGA grad.

I just had to let you know -- my DD21, Rachel, is a 3rd year student at UGA, Political Science. She only applied to 2 colleges: UGA & Clemson!!! She had a hard time deciding between the 2 too!

Angie, I'll take notes if you'd like. Heck, you can even call me when you get home!!

OK - time to start *double-digit* dancing. LET'S GO!!! :hyper:

:woohoo: :dancer:  :woohoo:

:wizard: pdfg:tink:

lookie there a TOP

Will you do me a favor and go check on her?
Yes, she was living in NC, got pregnant, got her man back from Iraq, got married, then things really went downhill. She now has trouble paying her bills. Borrowed about $2,000 from my sister, but no one has ANY idea what happened to it. Dh has somehow finagled getting out of the Marines so he doesn't have to go back.....he was quite proud of the list he gave us at Thanksgiving about how he was doing that...."well, first I'll tell them I'm having PTSD symptoms....and if that doesn't work, I'll tell them I'm having maritial problems b/c they won't send someone back to Iraq if they are havng maritial problesm.....and if THAT doesn't get me out, I'll tell them my wife just had a baby and I can't leave her alone now.....and if THAT doesn't work...."

I realize Iraq is not a nice place right now, but he only had about 6 months left. Just grow up and finish what you signed up for.

Anyway, apparently they moved down to AL to live in the same trailer as his parents. Yes, 4 adults and a baby in a trailer. Fun, eh?

AMEN! I totally agree with you on that one. I work with a lady whose son signed up for the National Guard when he was 18 ... prior to Iraq. He signed up without her knowing. She went into a tizzy about it. Then he went to Iraq in '04. Her father then was diagnosed with colon cancer around Christmas of '04. I'm not sure that it was ever life-threatening but she used that to get her son home for Christmas for 2 weeks. She has said that if gets called up again, she will be fleeing to another country with him. I say GROW UP! He was a big boy when HE signed up for this. BTW, my uncle fought in the Gulf War. Then after 9/11, his daughter (my cousin) signed up for the Navy Reserves. She wanted to serve our country! She served in Iraq last year. While it was hard for her to go, she fully understood when she signed up that there was a chance that she would get called & she was willing to serve! I was VERY proud of her.

I looked at the countdown timer on the website and it has us at 100 days. This is the html version that counts down to sailing time. So I'll be doing the double digit dance tomorrow.

:lmao: aww smoochie smoochie you gonna let him out of the basement long enough to read that???:lmao:
I must admit that he's a little intimidated by all of the posting and just doesn't have time to keep up. I'm not sure that I'll even be able to find that post again to show him :confused3 . Actually, I'm just on the computer so much I don't give him a chance :teeth: Besides, it wasn't the basement, it was the bedroom...

Hello Everyone! I "lurk" the thread pretty often. WOW...I have a hard time keeping up with everyone! You are a busy bunch! Any way...We (DHtb, Ds 10, Dd 13 (14 at cruise) and ME!) will be cruising with you in May! :cheer2:

Is there a teen group that is "chating"?..Did I just overlook it? My daughter is a bit bashful and I would like for her to meet others before we leave.

One other little item...why would DCL substitute Nassau for coz...rather than Grand Cayman? You guys have all the answers! :goodvibes

As always, I'll be "lurking"...

Shiann
:welcome: Welcome Shiann. DS (11) is thrilled to have another boy on the cruise.

Glad I'm not the only one... mine started a few weeks ago... though now with Scuba wanting to buy a new vehicle, maybe in my NEXT nightmare, all the Scubas and all the Pugs WON'T be crammed into Sharon's Beetle!!!

So does that mean that she didn't invite "the boy"? Fill us in or did I miss it?
