For polos, it would need to be embroidered, and thread is thread, so I don't think it would be a big difference visually. For T's that are being screenprinted, it would be a different color screen (and a separate screen charge) for a dark shirt as opposed to a light one. (We are going through this right now with shirts I am ordering for an event... but this is thousands of shirts, where the screen charge gets eaten up pretty readily.)
