Lisa wants to know where is Bear!

Bear was a little too shy to get into the picture. He was also worn out from passing out candy canes at dinner. :)

Yeah! A top with Jim, Lisa and Bear!

Happy Belated birthday Frances.

Once again Merry Christmas to all and for those starting to celebrate Chanukah tonight, have a good one.

Sound like you are all having fun, we went to my parents for brunch, then went down to the aquarium, only Adam went with, Tarryn decided to stay with her cousin, we drove downtown, took one look at the line to get in which was circling the building and much to DS disgust decided it was not worth it, we had reservations but then so did everyone else!!!

I started my second plate that I am painting, I'm doing one for each siblings family with pictures of each member and the pets and then going to send them off to be glazed and fired, have this one to finish and then 2 more to do.

Great idea Julia. Maybe I should have the girls do this as Christmas presents. Santa brought Emily an IlluStory book and saw that they company has cups, plates, calendars, etc. Emily will write & illustrate her own story, we'll send it off to the company to have it printed and bound then we'll receive her own hard-bound book. She was VERY excited about it and asked if she could do one every year. That was Santa's intention! I can't wait to see her finished product. I think she's a budding artist. You should see the horse head that she drew in art class ... pretty impressive for a 5-year old (If I do say so myself.)

Sounds like everyone is having a great day! I can't wait to hear from Kiki either. The girls were excited to get DCL coloring books, rubber ships and taffy (thanks Amanda!) They couldn't figure out how Santa would know that we're going on a cruise.

Note to self on cooking ... DO NOT take shortcuts! I made the meat pies for lunch. I made some "shells" from scratch as per the recipe but then thought "why not take a short-cut" and use a ready made pie crust. That was a disaster and those meat pies went into the trash. They soaked up the oil. It's a good thing I only made 3. I still have more recipe pie crust dough and meat filling left so I'll be making the rest later to either eat tonight or put in the freezer for a later time.

Sorry to keep you all waiting!!!!!!!

I changed my plan of attack just a bit... the paper chain was waaaaaay too long to put on the tree... so I put the DCL tags on the beginning, and ran it from the hallway, through the kitchen, dining room, and into the living room... with the other end attached to the box that had the shirts and the planning DVD in it... they stepped over the paper chain to get to their stockings (always first on Christmas morning... its the one thing they can open before we get up)...

They say, "Mom... Santa left a big paper chain on the floor..."... so I sent them to take a closer look... they read the tags, still didn't get it... so they opened the box and finally realized what was going on. They were excited, but more concerned about getting to the rest of their gifts...

What excited them the most was knowing that 'all those people we met in Sept' are going with us...

I didn't think it phased them much, but, Christopher got poster paint for Christmas, and promptly painted a picture of the Magic... so it's sinking in... the next 22 weeks will be fun!!!!!!

More later, with photos... we're off to see the lighthouse all decked out for Christmas...

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!

Woo-Hoo!! Sounds like they'll be rarin' to go soon! It'll sink in once the novelty of the other gifts wears off!

Karen,(kikipug)

Have the kids been on a DCL cruise before? I don't remember reading one way or the other.

The reason I ask, this was tried by someone on one of our past cruises, slightly different, and the initial reaction was very disappointing, but they had a fabulous time on the actual cruise. But that time they had never been on one, so the surprise really didn't work because they had no idea what was a DCL cruise.

By the way,

On History Channel, RIGHT NOW, 2 hour special on WDW, Modern Marvels.

No, but I have had them brainwashed into wanting to go on a DCL cruise forever!!! (I haven't been on one either, but we've been on plenty of other cruises... and the kids have never been on one with us...)

We just watched the planning DVD (again)... they want to know why we can't leave NEXT Saturday... it's gonna be a long 22 weeks!!!

Cool. As you already know, no amount of planning dvd's or such makes up for being on one, really.

Boy, are you right on that one!!

The real experience is one you (and they) will never forget!! That's why the rest of us keep going!! :teeth:

Good evening all!

Rolling home from desserts at another friends' home. I am proud to say we're no longer Banfi virgins  - Stacey visited with our very 1st bottle in hand...

Banfi goes well with peppermint cheesecake, italian wedding cake/cookies, strawberry cheesecake, turtle cheesecake, gingerbread cookies, o.k. with coconut cream pie -not so great with butterscotch covered peanuts and shoestring potatoes (sounds bad - but, they are really addicting) and the best by far was combining a bite of ghiradelli chocolate melting in the mouth with a swallow of banfi...

Had to sample all of the desserts for Banfi research purposes...

Excellent show! Repeating at Midnight Eastern on the History Channel.

Note this is a show for those who love to see behind the scenes. Not really for the kids. Mark really loved it!

Journey underground and backstage at the technological marvel that is Walt Disney World. Enter a make-believe world spanning some 27,000 acres, brought to life by cutting-edge technology. What was once Florida swampland now boasts the world's largest theme park. The ride technology ranges from space-age centrifuges to enhanced motion vehicles powered by 3,000 PSI of hydraulic pressure. And hundreds of audio animatronics brought to life through the power of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Walt Disney World is made up of four separate theme parks, each with its own innovations: the 107-acre Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. The four parks are all part of a megaplex of a resort. Twice the size of Manhattan, it was the final vision and crowning achievement of a man who spent more than 40 years pushing the limits of technology to create entertainment magic: Walt Disney. Happy Monday!

With the holiday on Sunday Mark and I are both off today. So we have a nice quiet day at home. Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Good morning all -- We had a beautiful Christmas.

Christmas Eve at a high school friend's open house. Mass on Christmas morning and breakfast with same friends and parents, then over to Mother's. She came to the house for Christmas memories 2005 - starting with 1996 Dom Perignon chamnpagne - you should have seen her face when Sam presented it to her in the box.!!!!!!!!!

Stocking, appeitizers, presents, appetizers, presents....you get the picture. I'll post the complete menu if anyone is intersted.

Sam grilled a tur-duc-hen for the main event and I made real mashed potatoes, mushrooms aned green beans and roasted red peppers. Traditonal english triffle for dessert.

Then we watched the Muppets Christmas Carol before bed.

This morning I get to do it all over again for Mother's ladies lunch - usually we do not host this event on Boxing day - oh well.

And how was everyone's else's Chrismtas, surprises for the kiddie's - let's see....

Taking a break to change movies and then continue wrapping - maybe Santa can run behind and break with tradition and not wrap presents this year...

Happy Holidays to everyone!!!

This is so funny - at the Christmas Eve party we had a round of does Santa wrap gifts or not, n the kitchen out of earshop from the kiddies......About 1/2 and 1/2 in that group......Many husbands and wives were on opposite sides..... :rotfl:

Well -- I haven't gone back and read all the posts that I have missed over the last couple of weeks, but I will try to give you a brief trip report from the last week at the world.

I should have known this was going to be a rough trip from the way things had gone leading up to leaving. To start off, my mom fell at DJ's band concert on the Thursday night before we left. I spent the whole day Friday running around. Then on Friday night we went down to the swim meet, which was a mistake. But I got up early on Saturday morning excited to be going. At 6 am, my mom went for the nightstand in DJ's room and missed it and fell. She cut her lip all the way through. So at 6:30 that morning, we were at the emergency room. First hospital we went to said it would take at least 4 hours before someone could see her. Left there and went to another hospital. We got out of there at 9:00 a.m., rushed home so everyone could get everything loaded up and we were on our way to the airport by 9:45 am. Rest of the day was uneventful and we arrived in Orlando at 8:45 p.m. Will continue on next post.

Sorry about the misfortune - hope that all is now well, I'll read trhough and see.....
