Hey everyone, I need a little pixie dust from my DIS friends. We got a call late last night from one of hubbies supervisors. He told him that we have a problem with hubby's vacation request for next year. Seems like one other person has put in for the same time and only one is allowed off. Hubby tried calling this guy to tell him how much we had already spent (timeshare, season passes expiring, not being able to rebook because the price has doubled on the cruise, airline tickets, etc.) and the guy is not willing to budge. Hubby went in early this morning to talk to his supervisor to see if there is anything that can be done.

So, all your thoughts and wishes might come in handy this morning.

Thanks everyone. I am a basket case right now. Hubby did put in first, but unfortunately that does not count. The other guy waited until the last day and put in, hubby did it on the first eligible day. Unfortunately, they do it by seniority. Even though hubby has been an officer longer, the other guy started as a technician and that is considered his date of hire. He has spoken to the supervisor, and the supervisor is going totalk to the other guy, but he is off until tomorrow and hubby already did talk to the guy and the guy said he wasn't budging on his dates. He told hubby they were also going to WDW but they don't even have resv. yet. He actually wanted hubby to help him plan his trip. I don't think so.

The supervisor really like hubby, so I am hoping and praying that he will do something so that this all works out. I will keep you all posted.

Oh, I'd still help him plan his trip alright.....don't go to the parks early...wait until about 1:00pm. skip all the parades, they aren't worth it. eat most meals off site b/c the food on site is too expensive. fastpasses are only for people with annual passes, don't even ATTEMPT to use them. the dumbo ride is more fun if you wait in line for an hour to ride it---heightens the excitement.

Yeah! And make sure he knows to stay off-site too: wouldn't want him having access to EMH either!!

My new neighbors just had their baby....here's what I made for them.

Of course, must get it framed.....in the mean time they'll have to look at the picture I took of it b/c framing will take a few weeks and I can't wait that long to go meet him!!

I hope by the time I read all the posts, this will be resolved....But if not.... some pixie dust coming your way.

Strange, we had the same issue come up with our November cruise. Did Hubby put in his request first??????

Will be glad when we get power back and life normal...We keep having power dips so the server starts and stops and yes, I know that this should not happen with a battery backup......

Ohhh Gosh Pam!!!!!!!!!!! Does your DH have seniority over this fellow? If so, it would seem to me that your DH would get the week and not the other guy. Why is the boss man saying the other guy can take it over your DH?? Anyways here is lots and lots of and even a for more luck!
