Hi everybody. Marching band season is officially over. We had our last competition this last Saturday at the Tournament of Bands. About 30 schools competed. We won everything in the prelims and then they took the top 10 bands back for finals. We won finals as well. What a long day. We got home after 1 a.m. I am so proud of all of those kids. they worked so hard this year.We also had a blow out on the way home.

Couldn't find a replacement tire in stock, so I have to wait until today to get the new tire put on. You think with a town the size of El Paso, we wouldn't have to wait for the tire to come from Albuquerque. Go figure.

Leaving in a few minutes to take my son to the orthodontist. After 23 months, he is getting his braces off today. (YEAHHHHH). He can't wait.

Gotta run

WOW!! Way to go Marching Band!! How exciting for the kids!!

So far, it looks like we are still cruising on Saturday....Princess still hasn't posted any changes. They saw port will be open on Thursday. Yikes! That's tomorrow!!

I'm outta here.....taking the girls to school (late start day) then to work, then to take Jared to his final visit with the cardiologist.....at least I'm not bored, just sitting counting the hours till we leave!

Let's see if I can remember where I got that tag, it's been so long. I think I said it when I was on the WISH board for a little while. Dieting, onward and downward, get it? Didn't work.

The Pass Questions tag came from asking a bunch of questions about Universal passes over on that board. I've said a lot funnier things since, but the Tag fairy never visits our threads here. If they did, Kevin and Jim would have some doozies.

I recently vacationed WITH a Tag Fairy -- which is dangerous, I might add!!! ESPECIALLY @ Food & Wine Festival!!

That's how I got my 2 tags -- luckily *she* decided to be kind - they could have been worse, believe me! These tags are truly "you had to be there!!!" (and, yes, alcohol WAS involved!!)

Hello all!

A little late posting today. I had an appt. to get my brace adjusted this morning. I'm feeling sooo much better now - either from the adjustment or the fact that I took 2 vicodin this morning rather than just 1. I guess we'll see when it wears off.

I hope Irene is ok. She sent me a get well card so I have her address but wasn't able to find her phone # on the 'net.

Here is the current update on power in SE FL:

While an assessment of damage to our electrical system will continue over the next several days, customers should expect to get their power back as follows:

• Restoration of service to customers north of Brevard County has been completed and power is expected to be restored by tonight to virtually all customers in the west coast areas of Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte and DeSoto counties as well as Brevard County on the east coast.
• In all other areas, power should be restored to the majority of customers within two weeks -- November 8. Some 95 percent of customers in these areas should have power restored within three weeks -- by November 15. Many customers will have power restored well before these estimated dates; the announced dates represent when the very last customers will get their electric service back.

OK...my hubby says that he could use a break from all this construction and hard work. Yeah for me. We really weren't going to go on a big vacation this year because of the construction, but I think he's really getting burnt out.

We were thinking about coming down to the Sunshine State for a little R&R. Anybody going to be around the Orlando area the first week of December(3rd-10th?). We were thinking about staying at our Marriott timeshare. We would love to have a mini-meet with whoever is around at that time.

There's a huge DisMeet scheduled at JellyRolls on 12/2. I know many of the DISers will be down there late Nov/early Dec. TLinden16(Karen) has a thread on the DisMeets board you should check out. I know some of them - what a great group!! I would have loved to be there, but we're going to WDW 12/17.

Thanks. I'll check out the Dismeet board for that one. I was kinda hoping that someone from the 5/27 cruise would be there around then. Living in NY, I don't get to FL too many times. This is an extra bonus for me. All he(DH) had to say was that he needed a break and wanted to go to FL. I was on the computer before he finished his sentence. You don't have to tell me twice.

The dr. said that I won't be in the brace longer than 3 months. It could be as short as 6 weeks. It's mainly to keep me from bending and twisting my spine. It does give me a good bit of confidence at this point.
