Stacey, here is an update on Port Everglades:

Port Everglades continues to be without electrical power or water. However, safety assessments and clean-up effort are underway.

No new update on the airport. Still only one runway open, but no commercial flights. Maybe tomorrow.

I'm sure Florida fared a lot better than that.

Our estimates of damage are $8-$10 Billion in insured damages. That makes it about $20B for Florida this year.

I know we will not be going to Coz in November, but we probably won't know where instead until much closer. The ship is currently in Spain and does not get back into the US until mid-November.

Some day I would like to dive Coz. This was to be my third trip there and all have been blow out. Oh well.

Now I should have said a bit more on those pics, the fourth picture down of the piers, which has what's left of two shown, the further away is where Carnival docked. The closer one used to have two piers after the turn, you can see a bit of it left there, was where the Magic docked. That actually looks worse from all the pics than GC was after it had one go over a year or two back.

Now, the dock that has a 'turn' in it is the one Disney used to use.

I was afraid of that!! As you mentioned Mark, Wilma just sat of the area for a long time. Hope they have it ready to go for the May trip. That kind of damage takes awhile to repair......

No, I didn't drop the Treo into the foot spa! Put it away to enjoy my coffee and cranberry scone......later we had Lettuce Wraps for lunch from Pei Wei. Those gals take really good care of me!

I am just astounded at those pictures of Cozumel! I had a feeling that our Dec cruise to Cancun and Coz (and Belize & Roatan) was going to lead to a change in itinerary.......bummer. But it's not so bad for us as it is for the people who live there! The other sad thing is that we can't get there, at a time when they'll need our tourist $$ the most.

Thanks for the updates, Jim...I appreciate it. So far, Princess hasn't said that our cruise on Saturday has been affected at all, and I haven't heard from the Mirage people, so maybe no news is good news?? I was on their (Princess) website, checking for weather updates, then looked at our account. They have us listed as "Elite Captains Circle" guests! Cool! Free internet, free laundry...discounts in the stores...all kinds of goodies. I think you have to have cruised with them 16 times to reach that level. And all because of the Mirage. Wow. I wonder if it's a one-time deal, or if, by some fluke, we'll keep this status? (yeah, right...wake me when the dream is over) But I guarantee that I will take advantage....no bringing home dirty clothes for me!!

Hi everybody. Marching band season is officially over. We had our last competition this last Saturday at the Tournament of Bands. About 30 schools competed. We won everything in the prelims and then they took the top 10 bands back for finals. We won finals as well. What a long day. We got home after 1 a.m. I am so proud of all of those kids. they worked so hard this year.We also had a blow out on the way home.

Couldn't find a replacement tire in stock, so I have to wait until today to get the new tire put on. You think with a town the size of El Paso, we wouldn't have to wait for the tire to come from Albuquerque. Go figure.

Leaving in a few minutes to take my son to the orthodontist. After 23 months, he is getting his braces off today. (YEAHHHHH). He can't wait.
