Did not - did not - did not - dis not - did not - did not........but hey, you too can move to Florida and get up at the wee hours on a Sunday to put up shutters..........

Do you sense a pattern here???

I actually have a serious DIVE QUESTION.... But I might not be around for an answer so I will need to ask again - anyway, the question is - WHAT TYPE OF REGULATOR DO YOU AND JIM USE???? OR RECOMMEND????? I know that Sam is chomping to buy one and I think the brand he is looking at is an Atomic (but we need to mortgage what is left of the house for that) :rotfl2:

Anyway - what do you say guys??? Oh, and he did NOT take your advice - he ordered weight belts for snorkeling....

We use ScubaPro. They make great equipment, but the best part is their warranty. As long as you have an annual maintenance check, it is guaranteed for life. You should have it checked annually regardless of the warranty, but knowing that it will always be under warranty is a plus.

For example, I have ScubaPro twin jet fins. A strap broke. I took it in and they gave me a new one. No questions asked.

My theory has always been to never skip on equipment. After all, it is the only thing standing between life and death at 130 ft.

There is a lot of information on the web about which regulator is best. I would recommend buying one from your LDS since they will be servicing it. I would not feel comfortable buying one off the net since it is such an important piece of equipment.

... got a little depressed last night but am coping today. This is going to be a LONG healing process.

Hang in there, Ang... it will be worth it!

One of Elizabeth's classmates just returned to school after having (what I believe is) the same surgery... she said she grew 3 inches!!!!!

WAHHHHH!!

Luckily, I HAVE to work tomorrow, and it's a "voluntary" day for Ray, as he worked all weekend...

I heard that the makeup day will be Veteran's Day... which is good for us... one less day to find something to keep them busy while we work.

As long as he doesn't put weights on the weight belt, then he'll be ok!! :rotfl2:

As Jim say; Scuba Pro is very nice equipment! We have three of them. I also like Apeks VERY much. My personal favorite.

His other point about scrimping is a very good one too. Although I would definitely recommend a balance regulator (you don't notice the difference in breathing at different depths or as the tank changes pressure) Tell Sam to chill and don't get excited about some of the fancy Titanium, or exotic regulators. They don't add anything but cost and will sometimes NOT be compatible with Nitrox.

Atomic makes some nice regulators and are always at the top of the performance charts. I agree with Jim and get something that your local dive shop sells and will service, as long as you don't have mortgage the house.......

This Everyone else should call their personal physcian....ok, that's going to happen.... :teeth:

Oh...sure, so it will be like many of mike's after hours calls....they go something like this:

mom: "he's not eating well, he's wheezing, i've given him 3 aerosols and he had a blue spell when he was coughing."

mike: "sounds like he needs to be seen TONIGHT. you need to take him to the ER now. do not pass go, do not collect $200."

mom: "weeeelllllll, the ER will have a long wait and i don't have insurance or any way to get him there....so don't you think it'll be ok if i come in tomorrow and have you look at him?"

mike: "you tell me he's wheezing and turning blue, i'm telling you to take him to the ER. you called to get my advice and now you don't want to take it."

mom: "weeeelllll, maybe he wasn't really blue, it was dark in the room, can i just come in tomorrow"

mike: "you tell me he's wheezing and turning blue, i'm telling you he needs to go to the ER now!"

SIGH..... me thinks they overstate their case to justify the call and then don't like the advice they get. problem is, if mike says "sure, we'll see you in the morning" and the kid dies overnight, the first thing the lawyer will say is "and dr. patrick told the mom the kid would be fine..."

Good evening, Everyone,

Here in Lake Mary we are now getting some heavy rain bands along with thunder and lightning. Wind has picked up a bit, but not too bad just yet. It looks like we are in for a long night.

Everyone in Wilma's path --- stay safe.

Guess its raining here now too... didn't realize it til I just went out to walk the dog during the first commercial of Desparate Housewives...

I doubt too much will happen before tomorrow... just rain. Let's hope so, as I haven't brought anything inside yet.

Work is a definite for me... we'll probably be distributing drinking water if Deltona floods like they think its going to. (again).

Angie - glad to see you back on the boards. Good luck with your re-hab. You'll be great!! Hang in there...we're all rootin' for ya. You can DO it!! Those little girls are countin' on ya. Be strong buck-a-roo.

HI EVERYONE...

Good luck to all of you in Wilma's path. Can't believe that Hurricane season is still going. Unbelievable. I'll be saying a little prayer for y'all tonight.

The weather is getting really cold up here in NY. Overnight lows are projected at 35 degrees. Oh my, that's enough to put the frost on the pumpkin. Ya know what they say...when the frost is on the pumpkin....(can't finish the rest, not ladylike).

Anyway, just wanted to stop by and say hi to everyone. It's been a very busy weekend here. I was not feeling well Wed, Thur, or Friday. I think I had that stomach bug. Seems to be going around here. My little guy came home with, uh hum, the runs(excuse me) last week and I think I caught that. With that, I think I triggered something with my Hiatus hernia and everything with me is not feeling well. OK, that's enough for Biology class for today.

Keeping everyone is Wilma's path in my prayers and thoughts.

TTFN,
Maria

To everyone in Wilma's path: Stay safe. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers. Let us know how you fared after the storm passes. :wizard:

Hi Guys - thanks for the tips - no rain here today at all - it is a nice night - just walked the neighbor home - parked the car where there are no trees. Dinner was great - Chicken on the grill, and lots of other stuff. Neighbor brought champagne and could not drink it 'cause she is 9 weeks preggers...so more for us!!!!!

Now to spend some time with Mother....Will see where the silly storm is tomorrow am - if I beat Jim to the post~!!!!!...

All you Floridians (residents of the plywood state) Please take care and keep safe. Lets us know if there are any changes!

My thoughts are with you guys in Florida. As much as I love it there, I'm glad I don't live there right now!

We'll be praying and watching.

I knew that Princess had coke, because we were able to specify what soda, water, liquor, wine & favorite fruits we wanted waiting in our fridge when we arrive...but Pepsi wasn't one of the offerings. :confused3

We are in a mini-suite, but I don't think we have concierge. Princess lets you pre-reserve everything anyway, so concierge wouldn't mean a whole lot to us. Besides, I'm not about to complain, it's free. I asked them to put Sprite, Ginger Ale and orange soda in the fridge, regular bottled water (not sparkling)...BANFI was also nowhere on the list!! Bummer.
