We should go through it on Monday night as it leaves Key West. Of course it is to early to tell and frankly, we don't care. We will be on the cruise ship without kids. :cool1:

Ray is in Homestead til Monday (provided none of the races get rained out... then he's there til Tuesday)... so now every NASCAR official is crossing his fingers, hoping that all the races finish on Sunday night as planned... Monday could get messy...

Oh how I wish I was on a cruise ship without kids again!!! (Oh wait... that's the way we've ALWAYS cruised... having the kids with us in May will be a new experience for us!)

I was wondering who was giving me that one finger wave!

Nope... that wasn't me... I just honked.

Oh yeah... Elizabeth is counting down the days, too... we're down to 4 years, 3 months, and I forget how many days... she tells me pretty regularly. (But there's no car waiting for her.... I drive a company car, so she'll never get mine...)

Just wait. I'm doing a lot more drinking now that Matt is driving. I don't know if it because he is driving or because he can be the DD.

Ok, back from the Harry Potter movie....I've got 15 minutes until I have to pack KT's bags for the trip north, throw dinner on the table, and go to ballet class for 2 hours. I am beat!

Movie was good. I liked it much better than Prisoner of Azkaban, personally. They, of course, left a LOT out of the movie, but it didn't seem so disjointed as POA did. The dark scenes were a bit intense, but my kids handled it well. Actually, I think reading the book out loud lessened the fear factor b/c the book was pretty descriptive.

If you're going this weekend I'd suggest getting there early. Even a 1:00 show on a Friday afternoon was 95% full! An awful lot of kids in the theater....either a lot of homeschoolers or they were playing hooky!! The place was jammed when we left and I noticed HP running in at least 3 other theaters!

Must run....

That is the book I packed for this cruise. I hope to re-read it before seeing the movie.

Ok, after following Horace's links on the main page around a lot, this is the most reasonable info page out there, but be warned it is still hype, the dates posted there are probably VERY optimistic, and they are doing their best to gloss over how bad the damage really is.

http://www.cozumelmycozumel.com//Pages/CozumelWilmaComeBack.htm

and on tours, including Chakanaab:

I'm going hunting next week for some trip reports from people who were there instead of promotional sites.

Thankfully, this time DCL is hanging back and waiting for honest concrete info instead of hype before making any firm decisions of when to go back. They went back way too early after the hurricane hit Grand Cayman the last time and the cruisers had a totally horrible time and were very vocal about it.

And that is why I am glad Radisson changed our trip to Belize and Roatan. Cozumel may say they are ready, but I live in Florida and am tired to dealing with Hurricane damage.

We still don't know about our excursion for Tuesday. We are to take the seaplane out to the Dry Tortuga, but it has been closed. It is to open again on 11/19. Between it just opening and TS Gamma we will see what happens.

I would really like to take the seaplane out. That seems like such a great trip, but don't want to waste the money if it is still pretty beat up.

It won't be bad with the kids because you will never see them...at least we never see Matt unless food is involved.

A top for me with Kikipug and no kids on cruises!! :cool1:

Hmm... Matt needs one of my DD t-shirts... on the front it says (in big letters) "Wanna Go Home With Me Tonight?", and on the sleeve in small letters it says, "I'm the Designated Driver." :rotfl:

Well I finally caught up with all the posts. I have been absent this week due to the Boston trip (which was fine, just wish I could leave the hotel) and getting ready for this trip.

We leave tomorrow at 9 am so I can make to dive with Capt Tony. I guess I should finish packing since Sharon is ready to go. Of course it is Friday night so she is at the gym. Nothing comes before gymnastics!

He would probably just cut the sleeve off. ;)

Have a great trip, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!

Enjoy, and don't worry about the kids... much. I'm sure you're leaving them with good hands, or locking them in the house for the week. I have confidence that they can cook themselves a darn good Thanksgiving dinner!!

One thing Mary caught about that site that I didn't...

Look carefully at the pics of the 'celebration' most of them have some kind of huge sponsor tarp for a backdrop so you don't see what's really behind them.

I know they need the buisness of the cruise lines, but that's really a disservice to try to convince people to come back when the island must still be in really sad condition.

Have a safe cruise Jim!!!

We are traveling with Mike and Joan and we all agreed.....children will not be discussed. There will be penalties if children, either ours or theirs, are brought up in a conversation. I think we will manage without any problem.

Matt cooked dinner tonight so I could pack. He cooked pork loin and aspargus. It was restaurant worthy. He may have to show Grandma how to cook. :rotfl2:

That's not too hard... we try to do the same thing when we're away. It seems like every time we cruise, we end up at a table with someone else who left their kids behind, but find the need to call them EVERY DAY!!! My kids, even when they were little, knew that there was NO calling home from a cruise... no matter what.

Jim & Sharon - have a wonderful cruise!

Virgil... I didn't forget about you... I just haven't gotten to the post office this week... ... its been one of those weeks...

Thanks for all the well wishes. We are packed and ready to go. It's nice not having to worry about the number of bags. We are taking 8 bags for the two of us. I hope we can get all of our bags and the neighbor's bags in our car.

8 bags and only 2 bottles of wine. I hope that is enough. :rotfl:

When Sam and Irene get back, please apologize for us. We lost the pictures of them at JB's Fish Camp. It's a long story and I'll tell it when we get back.

Enjoy reaching 20,000 without us.

I'd guess that three of them are dive gear, and underwater camera stuff.

Have a great time, Jim & Sharon! And a wonderful anniversary! Drink some Banfi for us, OK?
