Well, now "House" is on....so I guess I'll duck out. But first....some shots Jared and I took yesterday morning, before it rained.

Great picture, I love the colors!!!

There's more of those "funny trees" gaRry was talking about!

And...last...I promise...

Thanks, Monica.....I've never thought the desert was particularly pretty, but we do get some interesting skies.

And Kevin....none of these were taken with the new Canon. It's packed already. I took these with the Pentax. I'm wondering if they would have been even better with the Canon. The early morning ones are a little fuzzy. Is that me, or the camera?

I like the 2nd one, even more- the colors are gorgeous with the silhouettes...

That one house that you can kind of see in the right hand corner is the only house we can see from ours. I was a tad upset when they built it.

Jared was the one who came and got me and said "Mom, you gotta come take pictures! The sky looks cool".

Stacey,

Those pictures are B-U-tiful!! Who says the desert is boring? I think it's pretty awesome. Each part of the country has it's own mystique. I've never been in the desert, except for Vegas, and I didn't spend too much time outside, ya know what I mean? And for all you dirty minds, I was GAMBLING!!

Now am I understanding this correctly? When it rains and the creek is high, you can't get to or from your house? That would drive(pardon the expression) me crazy. I guess that's one of the hazards of living in the desert.

Glad you got home alright. Keep taking the pictures. That lightning one was unbelievable. Send it into the newspaper or TV news station.

Maria

Edited to add: WAAAHHHOOOOO!!! A TOP with Stacey and the desert weather.....

Well guys, I know I'm supposed to post 4 times today, but I moved my dining room furniture back into the dining room today, decorated for Halloween(I'm a little late, I know), cooked dinner, went to a 6:00pm baseball game under the lights and tucked everyone in and I'm a little pooped.

So I will sign off now. Talk to y'all tomorrow.

Good night.

Maria

Great pictures, Stacey. Nice composition, I think that's the term.

We were doing a Veronica Mars marathon tonight. Season 1, disc 1. Now we've got two shows going through Netflix.

Thank you Maria and Diana.

Yep, Maria....we get stuck on one side or the other. We live in Cave Creek, and there are a lot of washes that will run, and keep people from getting where they need to go, but we live on the "wrong" side of the actual creek.....that many of the washes dump into. So sometimes we get a double whammy. It's only a bad thing when you have important things to do...like fly to Vegas or go on a cruise!!
It better not rain next week!

Composition?? Oh YEAH....I worked REALLY hard on that! Uh huh....;)

:flower: Good morning cruisers! :flower:

Happy Wednesday!

Wilma is a cat 5!!!!! :scared1: Prayers going out to everyone in it's path. Here's hoping it fizzles before it hits land!

What happened to my post????

Well, I will try again. -- Thanks folks for the sites - we need prayers for the entire south florida Coast and my Mother as well...she is been through too much in her very long life and gets nervous easy. No shutters yet for us. But a Cat 5 - no way......

Thanks for the hurricane sites...they moved lots of the good model paths after the gulf coast storms....

Thanks for the puzzles and the comments on Scoopie and Hedgie......

Glad Stace made it through.

Monica (I think it was you ) - thanks for the post on the song....we need more.....

OK - one more time - I am out of here -- Later :wave2:

I guess the only person I can dive with this weekend is Wilma. I may have to miss that one!

That would not be good! :scared1:  :scared1:  :scared1:

I haven't been meeting my quota of 4 post per day, either, Maria. I love reading everyone else's posts, but just don't have much to say most of the time. Of course DH would disagree with that statement. It's going to be another beautiful day here today, getting to the upper 70's before cooling off tomorrow. It sure doesn't seem like it's only 68 more days until Christmas! I'm sure not complaining, though. I could take weather like this all year long. Still waiting on news from Angie. My prayers have been with her and her family. Have a great hump-day everyone.

Those are great. The trouble with those twilight or dawn shots is the lack of light. The shutter speed has to be pretty slow for it to work right and that makes any movement from the camera obvious. Try a tripod or steady the camera against something when you shoot.

You can try adjusting the ISO speed up a bit as well, only trouble with that is the pics get more noisy (digital spots), does help with low light shots though. :teeth:

Oh, yeah, GO CARDINALS!
hdr_ps_300x60_stl.gif

Saturday, we were watching the game when I realized Maggie was cheering for the Cardinals...Had to give her Cub Fan 101 - Cub Fans do not root for the Cardinals, so in this case cheering for the Astros is o.k, (I think she was doing it more to annoy her brother) :rotfl2: Then, she said but, it'll be o.k. to root for the White Sox when they're in the World Series, because they're also from Chicago... :scared1: Oh boy, really had to set her straight - On the hierarchy of rivals, White Sox rank #1, Cardinals #2....

on a side note, I was relaying the story to my mom - Guess hell is freezing over in Chicago since the Cubs fans are rooting for the White Sox, showing they are the better fans, pulling together for the good of the city. One upping the Sox fans, since they maintain the White Sox fans refused to support the Cubs when they were in the play-offs...

Regardless of the outcome of the Astros/Cubs series, it's been an great series to watch...Just glad I'm not emotionally involved!

Actually there are a lot of Cub fans who refuse to root for the Sox.

I'm more of a Chicago fan so I'm happy to see them make the World Series. Interesting comment by one Cubs fan who was buying Sox season tickets yesterday. He said that more and more people going to Wrigley Field don't care about the Cubs or the game - it is just the cool place to be. That Sox fans are more true baseball fans. I agree with that to some extent. I went to a Cubs playoff game a few years ago and was thrilled to be there. However many of the people around us didn't care about the game at all. One girl in our group spent the entire time on the phone just saying "I'm at Wrigley isn't that awesome!" :confused3

Governor Rod Blagojevich was quoted yesterday as saying he is happy for them because hey are an Illinois team, but he won't wear a Sox hat because he is a die-hard Cubs fan. One of the few things he's ever said that I respect him for.

:rotfl2: That's too funny...
