Has anyone checked the rates for 2007 - from the posts, it sounds like they are significantly higher...

WHAT? Does DCL just think we will pay any amount of money to go on their ships?

They're probably right...

YEOWZER!
We're cruising 1/7/06 Eastern....cat 6. two adults, two kids (ages 11 and 9)....cost is $3562. (no insurance, no transfers, no air)

I priced out 1/6/07 Eastern....cat 6. two adults, two kids (kept ages at 11 and 9 so I didn't jump them to the next price level)....cost is $4700.52!!! (no insurance, no transfers, no air)

That is SIGNIFICANTLY higher!!!

Might be pricing a lot of ppl out....and therefore lowering the price....supply and demand. :) We can only hope!

Governor Rod Blagojevich was quoted yesterday as saying he is happy for them because hey are an Illinois team, but he won't wear a Sox hat because he is a die-hard Cubs fan. One of the few things he's ever said that I respect him for.
And I still don't respect him....for anything. :rolleyes1

YIKES on those 2007 rates!!!!

I have a couple questions if you don't mind. Just curious, and since I'm having trouble just staying caught up with this thread, no way can I go back and read the past: are there DISers who booked this cruise and posted on this thread who have since changed their dates? (jeez, I hope that's understandable!!!)

2nd and more important question: where's everyone staying pre-cruise?

Thanks!

I'm afraid that the 2007 rates will be too high for us to take our all girls cruise in 2007. We may have to look at RCCL. :guilty:

I know that there were a couple of posters that switched to the 11-day after it came out.
We're staying off-site, close to WDW, and driving over Saturday morning.

Haaven't planned that yet. We'll do one of several things....

fly in late, stay at the airport (Hampton Inn) and leave for the port the next morning.....OR....fly in and drive to Cocoa Beach and stay there (Hampton Inn).....OR....fly in, drive to Grandma Lightbulbs (my MIL) and drive to the port the next day (she is also cruising with us).....OR....none of the above....

decisions, decisions, decisions....

seeing as we don't have plans yet for our JANUARY cruise, I doubt we're in a position to make definitive plans for our MAY cruise. ;)

'06 we have 3 cruises planned....January, May, and hopefully the member cruise in October....

but after that I'm thinking we'll be weaning down to a more reasonable number. We had already talked about dropping the number b/c we all miss the time at WDW (we always feel rushed now) and the price increases will make that more likely.

Just cancelled the Food and Wine trip this weekend - Disney did not hold us to the 5 day notification for the rooms because of the storm. Orlando is beginning to get worried now. I had a great cast member - must thank him on the website.

Reset the "experience" for January at Victoria and Albert's - who knows, client may like this better than Festival of the Senses.

At least we were able to attend once this year (yes) and now we can get down to the more serious business of storm planning.

Many on my November cruise have already posted to put the travel docs in a safe place.

Later. :wave2:

Just got back from Sarasota... now its back to work... on 2.5 hours sleep last night. (Not my fault, really.) Makes me realize I'm not as young as I used to be!

Had WONDERFUL food all 3 days- 2 event dinners at the Ritz Carlton that were out of this world, (pheasant one night, snapper the other) and dinner at Tommy Bahama's (curried jumbo scallops and shrimp over coconut rice) that was just as good.

From what I can see already, Sarasota is beginning to make some serious preparations for the storm! Let's hope it passes FAR south of here!!!!

Here are two photos of last night's sunset.... keep in mind, they were taken with a camera phone... so the quality isn't great, but it sure was beautiful!!!

Karen - we feel the same way. We don't have the January cruise (I can't believe you are cruising without us :) ) but we do have the May one and hopefully October one. We need to cut back on vacations. There are things around the house that need the money and time. Plus with DVC doing a Member Event just about every year ... well we really like those.

Guess it depends on what DCL has to offer for the rest of the year.

As for the night before the cruise. We'll be driving down and staying near the port most likely in a Marriott. We plan on driving up to join the group going to JB's for dinner the night before.

Yeah, those prices might put a damper on our thought to do back to back cruises in summer '07. We might even consider going back to the Alaska cruise plan! Our kid will be 16 in '07, she would probably love a RCCL megaship cruise. Not sure we would like it though...

I can't imagine anyone that's a foodie not loving V&A. It's an amazing experience, good choice.

Stay safe, Florida friends! Jim, there may not be much left of Cozumel when you get there next month.

Hi - Me again...ready to post some more pictures of Scoopie at Food and Wine and tell the secrets of his exploits.

When last we left, he was "tipping the scales" in Puerto Rico. Scoopie managed to make it to Mexico where he had to take a siesta after his Dos "Dos Equis".

Hmmm...RCCL....that's an idea!

Sorry DCL....(I'm afraid with this price increase many will be leaving...)

:(

But our little cone is nothing but ready for the next adventure - Soon he was up and running (or at least ready to ride) in Chile....

Not that I disagree and we want to do Alsaka in 2007 which would be HAL -- but, with the gas increase are the 2007 prices on RCCL that much lower???

Have not compared, but was thinking of a rebook when we cruise in November....but for what yet, I do not know - maybe a 4 day and dive in the Bahamas?
