Once you get off the boat the seas don't make any difference...:sunny:

The springs are a great place to practice up and down.

PERHAPS - maybe boat captain just wanted to sleep in :rotfl2:

I hope I'm not too late to join this thread! I know we're coming in late in the game, but we've decided to book this cruise - there isn't much availability left!!!! We have a Category 8 stateroom "on hold" right now - plan to put the deposit down tomorrow. It'll be me, DH, and DD12 (Tori) and this will be our 2nd Magic cruise!!!

I got the best price I think we'll be able to secure through Cruise Value Center. We checked with DU but this other place was able to beat the DU price by $325. Does this sound OK to y'all?

Thanks!

Welcome - welcome - welcome aboard.....Love your ticker....Sorry that I cannot help you about price...but I hope you put the deposit down....

Oh, and Jim, thanks for thinking of me! Now I can see if I like it in more than small servings, like a whole glass at a time. Maybe I'll break down and order some if I do.

Welcome, Laura. Jump on in, the water's fine!

You are welcome. I hope it lasts until December. :drinking1

Hey... where is everyone tonight???? I'm sitting here at the R/C in Sarasota... formal dinner is over, not in the mood to hang at the bar and watch football... ready to sit here and DIS for awhile, (despite the VERY short network cable and no wireless connection... and this at a 5 star hotel????)... and no one is here!!:guilty: Guess I'll watch Desparate Housewives...

Hi there - went to the campground to visit wandering friends. Had a great smoked chicken dinner, salad, and beer in a tiny keg. The sunset was beautiful and the moon over the lake was spectacular. Today - back to the routine....

DH was not thrilled when the lake was mentioned as an option...38 feet deep at the center....I, however, think we need the companion practice so I am ready for it....Must have some serious discipline to get everything ready for November.

You guys are unreal about the diving bug, last night DH wondered why we needed a car in St. Maartin - aren't we diving :confused3 This trip, it is one island voyage and the next island dive. I just know we will be going back, if the endlist list of brochures for the carribean are any hint....

You don't have to go to the islands for great diving.....just walk out your back yard or drive down to Key Largo. People plan whole vacations to South Fl. just to go diving (right Kevin?) and you get to do it all the time, even for free (shore dive in Lauderdale by the Sea.

Enjoy it! :cool1:

Nope not packed a thing at all. It is ok I understand....NO meets for me this weekend....I've offered but no one has taken me up..ah well maybe that should tell me something eh?:confused3

Sorry Amanda - we have newbies with us this weekend, clients to boot, and it will just not be "protocal" to dump them and go party with cruise friends.....

Hedgie on the other hand is always up for a party.

Still, PM me your cell phone number in case things change.....

PS If it does not seem to crass, can anyone give me an idea of what a monthly fee would be to get financed thru DVC? I know you are not supposed to ask these types of questions, but I am amongst friends right? ( Even if said friends wont have a meet with me )
Woohoo TOP of page with DVC, friends and debt!

Amanda - I echo Mary - at least sign up for the tour. Our guide was great as well....and we had a super experience, not a hard sell for us, in fact, we did not return after our tour until 2 years later!!!!!!

On Financing - it is not like financing a home so the rates will be higher..... a bit of sticker shock on that so be sure to include the price of financing with the total package.

Actually, we are (ok I am ) planning a trip to Pennekamp after Christmas as I have never been there to dive. Not the best time for hotle rates, but as you said, it is right down the street.

Will check out L by the Sea as well. How far from shore to the reef at that location?

:flower: Good morning cruisers! :flower:

Happy Monday!

If it's Monday it means back to work. Should be another great day here in Chicago. Needless to say the city is in a celebrating mood thanks to the White Sox win. Have a great day everyone!

Welcome. Yet another 'tween cruiser. DS was disappointed that it was another girl, though. He'll get over it, I'm sure. This is my last week of goofing off before starting my new job. I know I'll be going through DIS withdrawl.

Thanks, everyone, for the warm welcome!! I'm *still* working on getting the ressie made -- it's my project for this morning! I have a couple more phone calls to make, then I'll decide which TA to use (the wholesaler is still the lowest price). I did tell Tori this morning on the drive to school and y'all should have seen her face light up!!! She LOVES DCL but her favorite port by far was Castaway Cay and when she heard it's a double dip.....WOO HOO!!!

That's great... I have one of the "tweener's" = Lauren - she'll be 11 1/2 at cruise time... This will be her 5th DCL cruise. If Tori would like to email her - send me a PM and I'll give her email address

It called for 8 apples, cored, peeled and cut into chunks. Mix with 1/2 cup water, 1/2 - 1 cup sugar or 1/2 maple syrup, and 1 tsp. cinnamon (but I used 1 cup Splenda and about 2 tsp. cinnamon). You can also use red hots in place of the cinnamon. Mix together and place in crock pot on low 8 - 10 hours or on high 3 - 4 hours. I cooked mine for 3 hours and it was very good. I used whatever our red apples are, maybe red delicious? I can't tell what kind they are.

Went apple picking yesterday....making your applesauce today!! Will let you know how it turns out! :)
