Cool! A TOP with KT, Nick, my hair stylist, my Sizzix machine and the DVC cruisers! :)

Our goal is 10,000 posts by cruise time (on the 4th). Plus we just got our latest edition of cruise news listing all the fun things happening and everyone is excited. We are going to have Ducky Williams, Art Linkletter, Susan Eaton, and Dave Smith on our cruise!

Wow, Art Linkletter!! There's a name I haven't heard for awhile, I didn't realize he was still around...

Yes he's going to give a talk on his friendship with Walt Disney and also what it was like to be at Disneyland on opening day.

Mary, that sounds fantastic! I so want to go on a Member cruise one of these days.

Virgil, that was a fun report to read. Are we all ready for a trip to HHI now? Actually, that is our plan too, one of these days...

So many trips, so little time (and money).

I have already told DM she can only take her meds on odd numbered days, gotta start cost cutting somewhere. And she can only go to the health clinic if senior bus will take her (just kidding but I think she sometimes wonders).

They are great fun. Here's a teaser of what we are getting.

Plan to attend the S.S. Member Cruise 2005 Guest Speaker Series. Scheduled presenters include Jim Lewis, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Disney Vacation Club; Chef Gordon Holmes of Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort; a special guest from Walt Disney Imagineering; Christopher White, 2005 Walt Disney World Ambassador (read more about Christopher below); Don "Ducky" Williams, Senior Character Artist, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Marketing; and Dave Smith, Founder and Director, The Walt Disney Archives.

Plus, Art Linkletter—legendary humorist, television and film , and personal friend of Walt Disney—joins us for a very special appearance. Come hear his personal accounts of conversations with Walt about such notable events as the planning and 1955 opening of Disneyland® Park in California. Seating is limited.

Now while that's a pretty impressive line-up by any measure, here's something truly outstanding. Susan Egan, "The Belle of Broadway," will be entertaining Disney Vacation Club audiences in two exclusive live performances. Nominated for a Tony Award® and a Drama Desk® Award for her Broadway role as the original 'Belle' in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," the multitalented Ms. Egan is also familiar to Disney fans as the voice of 'Meg' in the 1997 animated Disney feature, "Hercules." She recently completed her run in the starring role of "Thoroughly Modern Millie" on Broadway, and we're very excited to have her aboard the S.S. Member Cruise 2005. And there's even more fun in store, as a Disney celebration wouldn't be complete without a surprise or two. All will be revealed when we're at sea!

Sounds like fun!

I was checking out the Members cruise thread and noticed that our thread has more than Twice the posting to views than the members cruise. It is true!! We are blabbermouths!! :Pinkbounc

Wow, Mary...that is soooo cool. Such fun. I might even sleep in the hallway to get seats to listen to Art Linkletter and Susan Egan!
Wouldn't it be cute if Mr. Linkletter pulled kids out of the audience?? An impromptu "Kids Say The Darndest Things".

Well.....after the craziness of the week, we are heading out the door in the morning. I may just sleep all weekend. (I hear you rolling on the floor laughing!)

Have a great weekend, everyone....talk to you Sunday or Monday.

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Friday!

Kevin - this is definately a more chatty group. The Member Cruise thread got off to a slow start. Many of them are first time cruisers. Now the excitement is growing!

The hurricane is through Florida and getting ready to hit the panhandle again. The initial reports are trees and power down, but not much structural damage. I'm sure people will be using blue tarps and looking for shingles.

Guess I'm not going to Ft Lauderdale diving this weekend.

Good morning everyone. TGIF!!

Not much going on in the Big Apple. Weather has been AWESOME!! Sorry can't say the same for our Florida friends. Stay safe. Keeping our fingers crossed with Katrina.

Painter is coming back for his second day. First floor is all primed with first coat of paint. He'll be working on the master bedroom and hallway today. Probably will be starting to paint the kitchen on Monday. Yiippeee!!! Moving right along.

Well, everyone have a great day. Yeah for the blabbermouths!!

Way to go Karen!

OM - that's like hitting the jackpot!!! Good for you. Gas in NY is around $2.77 for regular unleaded. $2.99 for super unleaded. I can't believe it. This is getting a little out of hand now. I think I'm going to buy a moped or something.

Ours is about $2.52 for regular. I never even check super!!

It definitely HAS changed our driving routines. We won't just run out for one thing....we plan our trips very carefully to economize. And, on days I know I'm not heading into Columbus, Mike has been taking MY car to work. 30mpg as opposed to 15-ish!

Good Morning, Everyone ! It's Friday! Transportation logistics were quiet interesting getting 3 kids (Maggie, Mike and John :teeth: ) ready for school with only one car...The kids had to roll out of bed early so to take John to the "park and ride" so he could catch a ride with a classmate. Add to the confusion, it's picture day for Mike and Maggie, so that meant a shower and blow-dried hair for Maggie. Neither one was too happy about rolling out of bed at 6:15.

99 cents!! For gas!!! wow!!! That's like hitting the lottery...Yesterday, the Christian contemporary radio station was encouraging people to practice random acts of kindness, and someone called in after trying to pay for her tank of gas and was told that it had already been paid for...

That's good news. Read in our newspaper that four people have died. Three got hit by falling trees. It also looks like the storm is heading towards Pensacola, AGAIN! :confused3

It's Friday, and it's Kareoke day...

Tried to think of something that would have tied in this week's discussions - however, didn't think I should post the "Thong Song"

So, instead - This one's for Maggie and her early morning...

Wake up Maggie I think I got something to say to you
It’s late september and I really should be back at school
I know I keep you amused but I feel I’m being used
Oh maggie I couldn’t have tried any more
You lured me away from home just to save you from being alone
You stole my heart and that’s what really hurt

The morning sun when it’s in your face really shows your age
But that don’t worry me none in my eyes you’re everything
I laughed at all of your jokes my love you didn’t need to coax
Oh, maggie I couldn’t have tried any more
You lured me away from home, just to save you from being alone
You stole my soul and that’s a pain I can do without

All I needed was a friend to lend a guiding hand
But you turned into a lover and
Mother what a lover, you wore me out
All you did was wreck my bed
And in the morning kick me in the head
Oh maggie I couldn’t have tried anymore
You lured me away from home ’cause you didn’t want to be alone
You stole my heart I couldn’t leave you if I tried

I suppose I could collect my books and get on back to school
Or steal my daddy’s cue and make a living out of playing pool
Or find myself a rock and roll band that needs a helpin’ hand
Oh maggie I wish I’d never seen your face
You made a first-class fool out of me
But I’m as blind as a fool can be
You stole my heart but I love you anyway

Maggie I wish I’d never seen your face
I’ll get on back home one of these days

Since I never seem to be around for the race for the big milestone - thought I'd try to celebrate 14,200
