The dress code at the library where I work prohibits wearing thongs to work. The older employees knew what it meant, but one of the younger ones asked how anyone would know if you were wearing thongs. I grew up in an age where thongs were NOT underwear, but could appreciate the humor in the interpretation of the rule.:rotfl2:

Now I'm curious as to what thread the gal complained about to the Mods.......

I don't blame her for being bugged that all the joking started....but it WAS funny.

.

What did I miss. Not sure which thread this is for???

So the funny thread must have been removed, that's why the link wouldn't work. Good, it isn't just me.

Thongs? Are you kidding?

Irene, stay safe! Sorry about your weekend.

Happy Birthday, Emily!!!!!

Oh shoot, guess I got to go home and change into some boxers. :guilty:

Since we're semi on the subject of fashion ... a girl at work has a 14 year old stepson. She said that the thing this year is not for the guys to wear their jeans hanging off of their hips but to wear WOMEN's jeans!!! :confused3  She said that he had on a pair of his mom's size 5 jeans. She said that if she finds them in her laundry, they'll disappear.

I read that a lot of guys are liking the fit of women's jeans better---probably because they are all sick of yanking up their pants every 3 seconds. Saw a guy helping a lady put her groceries in the car. He had to maintain a somewhat squat to keep his pants from falling ALL of the way down, but still had to yank them up after putting each bag in the trunk.

And that's FUN????

Course, I kinda WISH all my pants would fall off that easily. Bet they don't have to lie on the bed to get them UP!! ;) ;) (neither do I, actually!)

I was telling my daughters one day that I thought thongs would be incredibly uncomfortable. They, of course, were insisting that they aren't...... so I said I was going to buy some to test it for myself. Jordan says to me "Mom, I don't think they make them that big"
Just exactly how big does a string need to be???:confused3

Or the time we were in the car, a day or two before leaving for a trip....and I reminded Jordan not to forget her thongs......I thought Jay was going to have a heart attack. :faint: I MEANT flip-flops!!

I saw a guy running down the sidewalk the other day with one hand on his way-big-about-to-fall-off pants!! I honked AND laughed at him!!!

I thought thats why they make belts??? :rolleyes1

Don't ya just wanna run behind those kids and yank them down? I would love to!! They probably won't even get embarassed. Fads...let's hope that fad dies down by the time my boys get that big....

Just catching on posts and about to spew my Coke all over. I need a warning next time.

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes for Emily.

Bruce picked me up from work, we ran by Wal-mart to pick up cupcakes then off to school to meet up with Emily. As we were walking in another mom was walking out and asked if we were meeting a child for a birthday lunch. She said that she was too but that the front office wouldn't let her even though the teacher said it would be ok. They did send home a note asking that parents not have lunch with the kids during the first 2 weeks of school ... I completely understand that ... but the teacher told us that it would be ok since it was her birthday. The front office should have conveyed the strict rule to the teachers. Now I wish I hadn't mentioned it to her this morning. We were allowed to see her and quickly explained that it was against the rules. She was wearing a big birthday hat! Her teacher invited us to come next week.

Carry on with the fluff. Y'all truly keep me in stitches ... wish I was that witty.

I think it's part of that "Madonna" thing with showing off your underwear. Quite frankly, I don't get it. Must be that I'm getting older....... :teeth:

Excerpted from our school dress code:

Pants and belts: Pants must be securely fastened at the waist. Pants may not cover the feet and drag on the ground. Belts should be appropriate in length and not dangle.

Undergarments: Any garment designed as underwear must always be covered.

And those of you who live where it's cold will get a kick out of the last line of this one... I sure did...

Headgear: No hats, bandanas, kerchiefs, or other headgear shall be worn on campus. Sweater caps may be worn outside when the temperature drops below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
