Hi Ron!!!

As Mary said, My dd and I are Scoopie's travel agents - he's traveling the country and we're getting to know our fellow cruisers through him. He'd love to come visit you! Take a look at his itinerary and let me know when a good date is for him to come visit you!

Hi Ron!!! Glad to see ya here! We are bit nut-tey! But it is all good! HEHE Send that picture to Mary so we can know who you are!!! :-)
RAIN RAIN GO AWAY< DENNIS GO AWAY

dzneprincess, dobelover thanks for the greetings. :wave2:

Allow me to introduce our family: I'm Steve (thomprod), my DW is Sharon (sopandbass) and our DD5 is Isabel. :love1: I have posted two pictures of Isabel on the "DCL Picture of the Day" thread at http://130.94.75.33/showpost.php?p=9101617&postcount=610 and http://130.94.75.33/showpost.php?p=9155763&postcount=752. This will be our third Disney cruise. We previously sailed on a 4-day in April '04 and a 7-day Eastern in January '05. We live in Michigan. DW and I read these boards a lot and I try to post whenever I can answer someone's question or help them out. DW posted a trip report from our 7-day at http://130.94.75.33/showthread.php?t=721991. If you read it, you will get an idea of her sense of humor. We all like music :rolleyes1 , travel and theater. I don't want to just blabber on, so if there's something else you might be intersted in, please ask. :flower:

I was excited to read that "Verandah Man" was going on our May '06 cruise, but later read that he had to postpone until August. Then, I heard that "inkognito", the queen of the DCL (we're not worthy, we're not worthy) will be on our cruise. Last week, I read a great trip report by "molly" and found out she was also going on the first Double Dip. BTW, we are booked in room 2070. Hope to meet all of you on the cruise.

Yeah!!! Someone else that's on Deck 2... though we were the only basement dwellers!!!

I am not going anywhere near the main cruise boards. Some of those folks are brutal!!! On our last several RCI cruises the formal/semi formal dress is everything from polo shirts to a tux. Our table mates in June, man wore sports coat and tie and so did the tables around us. The attire I really noticed were the Asian women in traditional Japanese dresses.

Sue

I doubt that I'll take Jay's tux. I'm waiting for the letter from NY NY with the info on the cruise...then I'll see if they have anything planned that would call for a tux. Otherwise, I think his jacket will do just fine. The less luggage, the better. Leaves more room to pack the souvenirs!

I had stayed away from the Main boards for a long time. No matter what you say, it gets twisted, or you get flamed, or called a liar....I think I'll stay RIGHT HERE....where I know I am LOVED! (I am, aren't I?)

You suck-up! Why isn't there a "chicken" smilie?? JK, ya know!

Thomprod...Steve...(glad to know your name!) .....looked at the pics.....your Isabel has the most gorgeous hair I have ever seen!! Goodness! Although, I must say as a Mom, I'm glad I don't have to brush it! What a doll.

One time a while back (and maybe on the 10 night thread) we talked about what our DIS names meant....so I'm curious, what is Thomprod? If it's too personal, you don't have to answer!

Ah, what a cutie Isabel is!

Now I wonder who Molly is? Another cruiser we've yet to meet. On the 10 day thread, we had a whole new group join up in the last couple of months.

Kevin & Alicia are back. They got to drive home in the scuba shop van, with no air conditioning, in the 97 degree heat. Alicia got to the shower first.

Welcome Steve & family! My daughter Emily will be 5 in Aug. so she'll be close to 6 at next year's sailing. Maybe she & Isabel will hit it off.

Looks like from what's being posted about formal night that we might not attend. We'll see. We're both in tech fields so RARELY dress up. I wear jeans & shorts to work. DH wears khakis at best. He doesn't own a suit - only a sport coat & dress slacks. From what I've read, that would be appropriate for semi-formal, but not formal. I don't own a formal gown either and am not sure I want to spend over $100 (I know, most like $200) for a gown that would be worn once. That may be a good night for Palo's for us.

Are y'all getting a lot of rain? We've yet to get any - just overcast today. And cool. Has your brother talked to anyone in Destin to see how his house held up? When we will he head back. I remember when Andrew hit LA, my parents didn't stay away for long. Even though they were without power for a week, I couldn't convince them to leave.

Angie, formal night is actually fun! If you're seated at dinner with all your DIS friends, you aren't going to want to miss it. And you don't have to spend that much! Tuxes can be rented, or purchased used on Ebay (depends on how much you plan to cruise!) Ladies formal wear can be had so cheaply, hit the sales in January! Many of us specialize in "the uniform", black slacks or long skirt and a sparkly top. It's a good night to go pose for pictures too.

Guess I'll head over to the Cruise thread and see what all the fuss is about. There's a big formal wear thread over there every few months.

Does anyone else remember the lady whose husband absolutely refused to pack anything but shorts? She was planning on going to dinner every night without him.

I remember that! That thread went on forever! Even Jay likes to dress up for formal night, now. He & Jared insisted on it for the Mexican Riviera cruise. Jared even wore his tux again on Semi-formal night. But I wouldn't care if they didn't want to. I'd let them go in just a jacket, or even a shirt and tie. And pants, too, of course!

WHOO HOO! Shared a T.O.P. with D !!

Diana (& anyone else who wants to chime in),

Is this appropriate for formal night or is this more of a semi-formal outfit? I think more semi-formal.

If we decide to do formal night, I'm hoping that Ashley will fit the dress that Emily is in. That way I could shop the after-Easter sales (think communion dress) for a formal for Emily.

Another option for me would be to find a long skirt to go with the top that I'm wearing on Mary's website.

Angie

Angie....loved that picture! I want my girls to be little again! :sad1:

I think your dress would be perfect for either night. Maybe a little more semi-formal...it's hard to tell from the picture, but does it have beading on it?

My two most comfortable dinners on the 10 night were when I wore a skirt and top. I had one skirt that was kind of "flowy" ...with a sweater-type top....so comfy...but it looked very nice. Gotta love that!

Holy Cow!! What is wrong with that guy?? You mean he hasn't learned the "lesson"?????

Yes dear!,

You are right, dear!,

What ever you say, dear!

Besides, it is fun to dress up once a year or so!! :rotfl2:
