No rain here in Chicagoland and we are in a severe drought.

Wish it would even out around the country and those of us who need it would get it and those of you who have had too much wouldn't.

I like your thinking!!!!

Here's one

Let There Be Peace On Earth

Let There Be Peace on Earth and let it begin with me.
Let There Be Peace on Earth, the peace that was meant to be!
With God as our Father, brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother in perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me. Let this be the moment now.
With ev'ry breath I take, let this be my solemn vow;
To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally!
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me!
Written by Sy Miller and Bill Jackson

With apologies to any athiests or agnostics in the group. Just thought it was a fitting song for today.

My favorite version of this one is the one recorded by Vince Gill and his daughter. It always gives me goosebumps.

And work my way into a T.O.P. !:cool1:

Some days, it doesn't take much to amuse me........

Here's my kareoke contribution...

(somewhat in between the ""Let it begin w/me", "imagine" and "Dennis" lyrics...)

I'd like to buy the world a home
And furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees
And snow white turtle doves.

Chorus:
I'd like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I'd like to buy the world a Coke
And keep it company
That's the real thing.

My apologies to the Pepsi drinkers... :teeth:

DH and DD going to the lake tomorrow morning early, for scuba. Mom will stay home and get some work done. Very quiet weekend for me!

I guess your lakes are different that lakes that I'm used to. The ones that I've been in (mainly water skiing) are so murky that you can't see your feet! I can't imagine diving in one of those to see fish!!!

Diana, I hope you enjoy your day tomorrow.

Speaking of rain ... Jim when are you going to tell us about your trip?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I've had to work today. Family leaves tomorrow morning for a week :cool1: so I should have plenty of time this weekend. It's a ME week. To bad I have to go to Fort Lauderdale on Monday and Tuesday (no diving).

Well, where we dive it's not really a lake. Diana calls it that and I don't correct her. It's actually a fresh water spring that pumps out 3000 gallons per hour. Its pretty clear in there if the knuckle heads don't silt it up. Very popular for scuba open water certification since it's always 63° year round, winter or summer.

o.k. here we go, in order not to create DIS-harmony with the Pepsi/Coke debate... :teeth:

Here's another kareoke courtesy of Peter, Paul, and Mary...

Light one candle for the Maccabee children
With thanks that their light didn't die
Light one candle for the pain they endured
When their right to exist was denied
Light one candle for the terrible sacrifice
Justice and freedom demand
But light one candle for the wisdom to know
When the peacemaker's time is at hand

chorus:
Don't let the light go out!
It's lasted for so many years!
Don't let the light go out!
Let it shine through our hope and our tears. (2)

Light one candle for the strength that we need
To never become our own foe
And light one candle for those who are suffering
Pain we learned so long ago
Light one candle for all we believe in
That anger not tear us apart
And light one candle to find us together
With peace as the song in our hearts

(chorus)

What is the memory that's valued so highly
That we keep it alive in that flame?
What's the commitment to those who have died
That we cry out they've not died in vain?
We have come this far always believing
That justice would somehow prevail
This is the burden, this is the promise
This is why we will not fail!
