So would the caption for this read: "It felt so good out, I decided to leave it that way" :earseek: ???

Hey... stop posting links to my picture...

When I saw that picture, I thought "what is that?" Ah, poor lady.

Amanda, is your rain from Cindy? I don't know where you are located in Georgia, are you in Dennis' projected path?

We did a lot of worrying about fellow DISers last year during hurricane season, looks like we're in for another busy season. I was watching a lot of the Weather Channel too, to the point that Kevin was making fun of me.

Stacey, we'll have to help you pick excursions and plan your cruise! That way we can all cruise vicariously. Besides, you need the help, it's soon!

Love the funnies, Amanda! Needed a little comic relief.
I don't think it was prayer that helped me.....but I'm thankful for docs who know how to nip and tuck! Three C-Sections.....what can I say??:confused3

Guess the hubby and I are going on that cruise....yippee....first one without kids!

Please, send us some of that rain. Heard on the radio today that July 7th is supposed to be the beginning of our "monsoon" season....rain, we hope.....but they say it won't be happening for at least another week.
You know when it will rain here? When I want to fly somewhere. One raindrop and they close down the airport in Phoenix.:sad2:
Way to go!! I'm sure the business can do without him for a bit. I tell myself that everytime we leave too.

I like the idea of an advance scouting of Costa Maya. Check out the Maya Palms and let me/us what you think, if you get a chance. They usually dive on the Chinchorro Banks which sound very nice to me for diving and snorkeling.

I think so...we are on the GA/AL stateline almost directly in the middle of the state...on the little indentation that is Columbus :-) Yes this rain is from Cindy. I imagine that Angie is getting it now.

It's a good thing I booked our upcoming cruise early... after Elizabeth's orthodontic consultation today, I won't be booking any more cruises for awhile! :earseek: I could finance a small country for that price!

I know what you mean. Jordan just got hers off in February, and I was going to get Jared started this summer.....but...for one thing, we're never home...and....maybe that would mean I would have to give up a trip. (Can't he get braces as an adult? It worked for Tom Cruise!) Just kidding. We'll get to it eventually. Luckily, we can make monthly payments to the orthodontist!

Thanks guys/gals.....I'm feeling better now that Jay & the crew decided he could come. I can't imagine seeing all new places and not sharing it with him.

As for excursions, that's easy: Snorkel, snorkel, snorkel....and maybe Snuba.
We just have to decide which excursion sounds the best. We aren't going to try to "go it on our own" this time. (chickens)
I already have a "date" for the Tulum Ruins in May......

I definitely plan on really checking out Costa Maya. I don't know why, but I'm really interested in that one. We were in Belize 16 years ago, bet it's changed a lot....

Sounds wonderful! I'm going to give them a call to check into the snorkeling. This sounds like it would be a safe bet to do on our own. Thank you!

Good morning everyone.
I'm not usually a very religious person, but on the heels of this morning's news about the bombings in London, let's say a little prayer for those poor people who are living in termoil today. They have gone through this before, but at least with the IRA, they would get a warning and basically told where a blast would be. This is SO 911ish. Here we go again. Maybe it's a good thing that NY did not get the 2012 Olympics. Between that and the G8 meeting.....Scary, scary days ahead. :sad2: :sad1:

We live within the 10 mile radius of a nuclear plant(Indian Point) right here on the Hudson River and my nerves are not doing well today. We're so close, that if something did happen, we wouldn't have time to think about it. Yeah, and I'm putting on a big addition to my house. I guess I can't really live in fear, but it's always in the back of my head.

Let's try to make this a great day....

TTFN,
Maria

Good morning cruisers :(

No happy flowers this morning.

I'm sitting here watching the news on MSNBC. Very very sad. Prayers going out to all involved. Why do the people who do this have such little regard for human life?

Having been on the tube I can only begin to imagine what it was like for those in the tubes at the time of the blast.

What county are you in? We did ok last night. We didn't start getting the storms until 10:00. Something loud rolled through during the night but the weather radio never went off so I was ok - just went back to sleep.

My prayers go out to the people in London. Early this morning they were saying that the bombing on the bus & tube were unrelated. It wasn't until my drive in to work that I heard the contrary and that there was another bombing. SAD!

Mary,

It looks like you & the other folks in IL may be in for some "fall-out" from Dennis after all. This morning's weather report showed the predicted track heading straight up to Missouri and that it would still be a TS by the time it reached there. That would be a very UNUSUAL track.

Monica, are you out there? Don't you teach pilates? Is there an at-home DVD that you can recommend? I want to start doing something to help with flexibility. The Y that we belong to has classes but they're all during the day. The surgeon suggested doing cardio & flexibility exercises before having surgery in Oct. Someone at work loaned me a book but it sat on the end table & collected dust. I did briefly look through it and it seemed like a pretty good one. It didn't require any equipment.Angie

Check out this DCL thread... some good news on an otherwise not-so-good day... if you're short on time, at least read post 1 & post 36...

Thanks for the update. I read the initial post this morning but hadn't made it through the thread to learn that they had actually presented the gift. That was so loving & generous. I had tears in my eyes.

My favorite progressions and videos are the Stott Pilates line of videos. I think they are just starting to mass market with "at home" videos. If you are on netflix - some of the "at home" series is available. The Stott Website is www.stottpilates.com - I use the "professional series" for the matwork - but, have quite a few of the "at home" DVDs using the small equipment.

professional series (don't have to be an instructor) start with- "matwork essentials." the "at home" series - is broken down even farther with emphasis on different themes, and usually in a smaller time frame.

Through teaching and taking pilates, I've been exposed to different styles and progressions and videos, IMO, stott videos (and instructors) are the most consistant with clear, consise form cues, details, and modifications. Each video builds on another using the same progressions just making modifications to some of the exercises. Since the exercises are familiar, the transition to a more challenging video easier - don't have to relearn exercises. Even though, I'm not stott certified, I use their progressions in my classes.

That was probably waaaayyy more info than you needed... but, pilates is one of my favorite topics. ;)
