a small item this a.m. during a radio newscast annouced that Disney was teaming with Sprint to market cell phones to the 8-12 year old market. (Another company was pairing with leap frog to market to as young as 6... )

Not meaning to start a debate - just though it was interesting...

My favorite progressions and videos are the Stott Pilates line of videos. I think they are just starting to mass market with "at home" videos. If you are on netflix - some of the "at home" series is available. The Stott Website is www.stottpilates.com - I use the "professional series" for the matwork - but, have quite a few of the "at home" DVDs using the small equipment.

professional series (don't have to be an instructor) start with- "matwork essentials." the "at home" series - is broken down even farther with emphasis on different themes, and usually in a smaller time frame.

Through teaching and taking pilates, I've been exposed to different styles and progressions and videos, IMO, stott videos (and instructors) are the most consistant with clear, consise form cues, details, and modifications. Each video builds on another using the same progressions just making modifications to some of the exercises. Since the exercises are familiar, the transition to a more challenging video easier - don't have to relearn exercises. Even though, I'm not stott certified, I use their progressions in my classes.

That was probably waaaayyy more info than you needed... but, pilates is one of my favorite topics. ;)

Thanks Monica! I'll check out their site tonight.

I know that there is a new phone coming out called 'firefly'... it ONLY will dial numbers that the parents program in (up to 20#'s). I have been looking at it online, but its not available yet. As much as I want to hold off as long as possible on getting Elizabeth a cell phone, something like this might be the answer.... waiting for Verizon to offer it before I even look into it further, though.

Mary,

It looks like you & the other folks in IL may be in for some "fall-out" from Dennis after all. This morning's weather report showed the predicted track heading straight up to Missouri and that it would still be a TS by the time it reached there. That would be a very UNUSUAL track.

Ang

Just returned from meeting where it was announced that the storm may track to the east and may impact the Keys....Have not seen official annoucement yet. Stay tuned all....

My prayers go out to the people in London. Early this morning they were saying that the bombing on the bus & tube were unrelated. It wasn't until my drive in to work that I heard the contrary and that there was another bombing. SAD!

Ang

May I add my prayers to Mary's. My first call this morning was to my Bristish mother and she re-assurred me at least my cousin is on the other side of London. But she is an emergency nurse - so prayers for her to deal with the wounded.

It's a good thing I booked our upcoming cruise early... after Elizabeth's orthodontic consultation today, I won't be booking any more cruises for awhile! :earseek: I could finance a small country for that price!

Been there, done that. I am hoping very much that Lisa will not need braces. At this point, the dentist thinks she is ok without braces.

Thanks for the update. I read the initial post this morning but hadn't made it through the thread to learn that they had actually presented the gift. That was so loving & generous. I had tears in my eyes.

Ang

Same for me....I have passed along this post on such a sad day, it was uplifting.

Christopher won't need them, but Elizabeth will make up for both of them... and she is SUCH a baby when it comes to pain... she has been pulling her drama queen routine over just the spacers since yesterday... this is gonna be fun... NOT!!! She'll get her braces, her Herbst & her pallet stretcher all on Aug 1... the first day of cheerleading practice, too... ought to be a GREAT day!

Hi folks - just received news that my best friend's father has been hospitalized and it is terminal (1-2 weeks). So, I will be leaving the boards to stay with her for the weekend and not regularly checking posts....assuming the storm stays to the west of Florida, which makes me feel guilty to those in it's path.

Good Luck to all who may experience the storm.

I'll need help with a recounting of the major posts when I return.

Irene, sorry to hear of your news. My prayers go out to your friend & family. I hope you have safe travels. I assume from your email that you'll still be in FL.

:boat: CRUISE INFO ALERT! :boat: CRUISE INFO ALERT! :boat:

Just read on the main board that Disney Visa has extended its onboard credit. The following is an excerpt from mousesavers

"Disney's Visa cardholders can get a $50 stateroom credit for any cruise sailing now through 9/30/06."

I'll have to call my TA and see if I can get this applied to our account.

Angie

Back to the fluff now....

Thank you so much, for your prayers. They are much needed. I made this trip in January for the unexpected eath of her Mom.

Yes, traveling to Gainesville, but DH will be home for any storm related issues. Right now we are only expecting rain, but it is so soggy that there is no where left for the rain to go and flooding is a potential concern. Not raging floods like you see on the news, just soggy everything!

No smilies today either.

Irene, sorry to hear the sad news. It's great that you can go and be with your friend.

Angie, let us know what you learn about that credit. I have a Disney Visa, though I'm not planning to pay with it!

I am very "Disney Visa Ignorant"... in fact, I just got my Disney Visa in the mail yesterday... how does this work? Would I have had to book it on the Visa, or just pay off the balance with it???? :confused3

Irene- hope you have a safe trip - prayers and safe travel to you. Your friend is lucky to have a friend like you to lean on.

When I originally booked our cruise, I asked my TA if we could take advantage of the stateroom credit if it became available in the future. She said that she didn't see it being a problem if we paid the deposit & balance on the Disney Visa. I'll try to call tomorrow. I'll have to remember to get my cruise info from home tonight.

Ang

IF you have any other stateroom credits from DCL you cant have both. IE the rebooking credit, we have a $200 OBC so we would not be able to also take advantage of the Disney Visa credit.....

KikiKaren, CJ had braces applied in Early May....so far so good, and it was not as bad as I had feared...price wise....He only needs the 1st phase though...In the picture you sent for Taylor, Elizabeth's teeth looked just fine.....why are you getting them if you don't mind my asking? CJ is getting them because he has a very large over bite, and he was becoming self conscious about it....

Irene I am sorry that you have to visit a friend under such dire circumstances. I will be thinking of you all.
